By browsing Google Earth a little bit, I found plenty of space for a moderate-sized coaster without the removal of any major attraction. I found some space in Deja Vu's corner as well as in the front of the park. I think something like a Eurofighter would fit nicely in the park's line-up of coasters.

Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

Wow! I went to CP in July and Disaster Transpor was in full operation. It's amazing to see what has been accomplished in just over 4 months! Hopefully I will be able to head back there again and try this monster! -
Best seat on a woodie

PTC created single bench cars? I searched all over the internet and couldn't find a picture... -
Has a waterslide ever scared you?
thrillseeker4552 replied to Mind Eraser's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Oh, yes. Dropout at Raging Waters (San Dimas, CA). The freefall was awesome! It gave you a massive wedgie at the end but it's worth it! -
I have mixed emotions about Full Throttle. It looks like a fun coaster that will attract the general public. That's all that SFMM really cares about. The cater towards the general public, not enthusiasts. However, I do agree that SFMM needs to stop focusing on inversions and more on airtime. If it was my choice, I would rip out Viper and put in a Intamin hyper, similar to Skyrush. A B&M would be good too, but I doubt they will because it would be so similar to Goliath. This would be a great addition for 2014/2015. Now watch. They're going to put in Intamin's 12-inversion coaster. I hate to be negative, but it seems like something they would do, right? That way they can advertise "the most loops on a coaster"!

While we're on the subject of Knott's in 2014/2015, I'd thought I'd give my opinion of things. As said before, KBF getting a mini B&M hyper (similar to Goliath in Canada or Hollywood Dream in Japan) would be a great addition. But, now that PP's space is occupied by the new attractions, the question of space still remains. Does anyone have any idea where they would put this ride?!

The "Pleasant/Unpleasant Surprise" Thread
thrillseeker4552 replied to cfc's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I have a few. -Mean Streak at CP. Everybody said it was a horrible ride and was excessively painful. I found the ride to be fun and fairly smooth. Sure, it wasn't GCI smooth, but wasn't bad at all. -Mantis at CP. Again, everybody said that the ride sucked in every seat. It was a smooth ride with small pumps here and there. I thought it was just as good as Riddler's Revenge. -Millennium Force at CP. Lots of people said that the hills didn't have any airtime. I was surprised when I rode it for the first time. I tried the front, middle, and back, and the middle had the best airtime. The last hill (the one parallel to the station) had ejector in the middle seat. Maybe I just got a good day. -X2 at SFMM. I rode the coaster once over 2 1/2 years ago. I hated it. I rode it once and only once. I when back to SFMM yesterday and gave it another shot and I was amazed. The ride was fantastic! It easily went from my least favorite ride to my top 5! -Last one. Viper at SFMM. Like X2, it's been a while since I have ridden Viper. I gave it a shot in the front seat and it was awesome (as awesome as an Arrow can get). The loops were fun and the ride was fairly smooth; and being a 5'2" kid, with the restraint as tight as it will go and still being loose, I had lots of freedom from head-banging. I even had ejector airtime (yes, ejector) on the transition from the upward climb to the brake run. It was a lot of fun! EDIT: I would also like to add TTD as an unpleasant surprise. I was THRILLED for this coaster from all the hype it gets (and how much better it is than KK). I rode it in the middle row and was very disappointed. It was over too soon to thoroughly enjoy the ride. Not to mention, I was disappointed with the launch. Xcelerator's is WAY more intense. Still a great ride, but I'll take Maverick or Xcelerator over it any day. -
I have used that tool before and it doesn't help me much. I got Newton2 working on my computer and designed a couple tracks, but being only 13, all of the Single-Zone and Multi-Zone Force stuff confuses the heck out of me. Hand building, to me, is much simpler. RCT3 is way too easy, Newton2 is too hard, so I figured I would start getting used to hand building as it seems to be simple but complicated at the same time. I guess I'll just have to fiddle with it a little more and come up with something. Thank you, though!

What is your top 10? Including wood and steel in to one list. For me: 1. Millennium Force 2. Maverick (a very close 2nd) 3. Top Thrill Dragster 4. Xcelerator 5. Tatsu 6. Raptor (CP) 7. Green Lantern: First Flight 8. Apocalypse (SFMM) 9. Silver Bullet (KBF) 10. Magnum XL-200 -
What is your favorite launch coaster?
thrillseeker4552 replied to EuroTre's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Let me see. I have ridden 7 launch coasters (Xcelerator, Monty, Pony Express, Superman: EFK, Top Thrill Dragster, Wicked Twister, and Maverick) and I would have to say Maverick. It has everything a thrill seeker would want: a beyond-vertical drop, phenomenal airtime hills, inversions, a launch, and TWISTIES! Not to mention it is my 2nd favorite coaster. A very, very, very close second to Millennium. -
I doubt this would happen in 2013, but hopefully sometime soon KBF will add some new trains to Ghost Rider. The coaster isn't as fun as it used to be. I think some Timberliners would be cool as they are rare in the area. Millennium Flyers could work too but as of 2013 there are 3 GCIs in California and it would be weird to have MFs on a CCI woodie. Either way, it definitely needs it. I believe I rode my first ride on GR in either 2007 or 2008. I can tell you that is has changed a lot, even in just 5 or 6 years. It used to be my all time favorite. As the years wore on, it went farther and farther down my list. Now, I wouldn't mind taking the extra hour drive to ride Apocalypse at SFMM. I think if they added new Timberliners it would not only increase the capacity (no seatbelts and more reliable than PTCs) but would also enhance the experience. Even a new name would be useful (the names Coast Rider and Ghost Rider can't last long). Bottom line, I think new trains and a new name for Ghost Rider would benefit KBF greatly.

I am having trouble creating a relatively smooth track. I am very good at the technical stuff like lift, brake, and transport segments. I can do all of the block segment stuff as well. The only thing I'm having trouble with is the actual track. I know how to do it, I just can't make it very smooth. I don't like using extra tools that aren't in the game unless I really need too. I've tried Newton2 and it isn't working well on my computer. Does anyone have any tips about how to make a hand-built track smoother? This would help me so much!

Because of KBF's problem with space, I wasn't honestly expecting a hyper/giga coaster. It doesn't fit the atmosphere of the park. However, I feel they could have fit a more thrilling coaster in a small space, like a Gerstlauer Eurofighter or a Maurer Sohne X Car. The wild mouse isn't bad but as said before, the capacity isn't the best. Whatever. I'm just glad they got something.

Oldest Coaster You've Ridden

Blue Streak at CP 1964 -
I think people underrate Silver Bullet at KBF. I've been on Raptor at CP and Batman at SFMM just for reference. I like Silver Bullet the best. Raptor's transitions aren't quite as smooth and Batman is over with so quickly it's hard to judge. Silver Bullet is smooth and at a length where it's not too long and at the same time not too short. Excellent ride!
