Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
thrillseeker4552 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm not intending that the trains look worse. They look amazing whether yellow or brown. I was just wondering if anyone knew why the color was different. It was just for curiosity. -

^ Maybe. I'm just curious to why they made them a bright yellow in the animation. These look more like a copper. They still look really awesome! -

I know this is a minor nit-pick, but aren't the trains supposed to be yellow? Either way, this ride looks simply and utterly amazing!!! -
Best Drops....

The first drop on Maverick is pretty awesome! -
Steel Eel
thrillseeker4552 replied to thrillseeker4552's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ That is true. I never thought of that. I'm sure there couod have been a way to make it look a little better though. -
I have been recently searching around information on Morgan coasters for no true reason, and I came across a coaster that seems to be probably the most odd coaster - Steel Eel. What's up with it's support work? It looks horrible. Is there any reason it was built that way?

^ Looks great! I love the way the Cedar Fair maps look. They're so......exaggerated. Like the extra spins on TTD's drop and Maverick's super long train. Makes the ride look more insane (as insane as Maverick can get). -
I think we should sit tight on that one...I can't imagine them 're-launching' the boardwalk area without its signature attractions looking in tip-top shape. I think we may finally have our Xcellerator paint job we have all been waiting for. If Xcelerator got it's track repainted a bright red, that whole section of Knott's would amazing! Boomerangs new paint (and hopefully trains), Xcelerator's stunning paint job, a new family coaster, and two family attractions would definitely be a win for the public. Now imagine if Ghost Rider got an RMC topper track make-over...

I agree with you! I actually love Boomerangs, but it would be helpful if they could all get new trains that didn't cause so much head-banging. Or better yet, if there was a way to make it run with lap bars instead of shoulder restraints! My trick to avoid head-banging is that I'll lean forward going into the first part of the cobra roll and then putting my head back against the headrest before exiting the cobra roll. It's backfired on me a couple of times, causing me a nasty headache, but most of the time it's worked well for me! Even though you're instructed to keep your head against the headrest, I've found that my strategy is alright. I'll also sometimes use this technique on Viper at SFMM. I'm glad someone agrees! Almost all of the old Arrow/Vekoma loopers have potential to be great rides. It's the trains that cause an uncomfortable ride. The same goes with GCI coasters. Besides the Millennium Flyers, they're just normal old wooden coasters (in terms of the construction and building techniques). But when riding a wood coaster with MF trains, it changes the whole experience. I wish a roller coaster manufacturer could create a train that runs on Arrow/Vekoma loopers with lap bars only. That would be the best thing ever! In terms of KBF and Boomerang, it is very possible to have the trains like Carolina Cobra for several reasons. Cedar Fair already has experience with the trains because of Carolina Cobra. They know that it creates a much more comfortable ride. And on a side note, Boomerang's 23rd birthday will be on April 6th. Maybe it will receive new trains for it's birthday? In time for the Spring break crowds.

I think people under-estimate Boomerangs. They are great rides (more or less), but the headache is what makes it so uncomfortable. If you can subtract the head-banging, it really has potential. Either way, Knott's won't remove a ride they just repainted. I do agree about Xcelerator, though. If Boomerang got the new Vekoma trains and Xcelerator got a nice, bright red re-paint, the Boardwalk will look fantastic!

I think 'Coast Rider' is pretty pathetic. -
Worst Lift Hill View
thrillseeker4552 replied to Coaster Curt's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Scream at Six Flags Magic Mountain. You climb up the beautiful blue and yellow B&M track. You are at the top of the towering lift hill, with 7 inversions awaiting you. Once you are at the top, take a deep breath as you view a beautiful...parking lot. -
I stand corrected, Shockwave was my first. I completely forget about that coaster. This doesn't count. Shockwave was an Intamin, wasn't it? By B&M, I meant Iron Wolf and later - not the rides they created along with Intamin and Giovanola, like Flashback and the Stand-Ups. Sorry if that wasn't clear.

I'm not sure how many of you are familiar with Coaster Dynamix, but I am trying to make a Wing coaster. CD typically only makes B&M coaster models. I have a Dive, Sitting, Inverted, and a Floorless. Sometime I'm going to get a Hyper, but I would also like a Wing coaster. I know that CD doesn't make Wing coasters, but does anyone know how there might be a way to custom-make one? Could I remove the inner 6 seats of my Dive train and leave the outer two seats? CD already discontinued their line of Hyper and Dive trains; could they be making a Wing coaster? I am just thinking of what model to make, and I really think it would be cool to make a Wing. I'm just not sure how to make the train...

I highly doubt Knott's will remove Bigfoot Rapids. They already removed one water ride, and with the extreme California heat in the summers, water rides are essential. If Bigfoot Rapids got removed, all Knott's would have is the TMLR. I understand that they have Soak City next door, but people like to ride water rides without paying extra for another park. I think the only place we have hope for KBF's hyper coaster is between Bigfoot Rapids and Ghost Rider. Fiesta Village and Boardwalk are both tight on space, and Ghost Town is the only area where they could possible fit a B&M Hyper. As long as they have a place for the station, transfer tracks, and queue, they can raise the entire layout and put it anywhere.

Underrated Coasters?
thrillseeker4552 replied to Yero's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think Silver Bullet is an under-rated coaster. We all know that it isn't as intense as Raptor, the Batman clones, or Nemesis, but it is very smooth and has a nice flow of elements. It's worth mentioning that I have been on three inverts: Raptor at CP, Batman at SFMM, and Silver Bullet at KBF. Silver Bullet is my favorite. I can ride it over and over again, but I can only ride Raptor or Batman a couple times before I get a headache. -
Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said
thrillseeker4552 replied to maliboomer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ This. He would of been fired if Mr. K was still in charge. I might have worded this wrong. It wasn't intended as sarcasm. When I said "it" I was referring to TTD, not Ghost Rider. He really was correct!
