  1. I will not use any CS in this park. I mentioned that in my original post. I feel too many parks are using CS, and while it looks great, after a while it hardly looks like RCT3 anymore. I believe I can have a very successful (and themed) park in RCT3's purest form.
  2. ^ Agreed. With some Mexican theming it could be quite successful. And with Cedar Fair buying from Zamperla this year with Cedar Point and Valleyfair's Diskos, I wouldn't be surprised if they purchased an Air Race or two for Knott's and maybe another park in need of a new thrill ride.
  3. 22 May 1975 Hello! I am Nathan Lamore, the owner and general manager of the newly-developed Malibu theme park, Seaside Spot Theme Park. Work has been underway for the new seaside park along the coast of the Pacific Ocean for the last 18 months, and after an anxious wait, Seaside Spot Theme Park is now open to the public! SSTP had its grand opening with 4 rides! -Force--a Schwarzkopf Enterprise thrill ride that spins you and 15 other passengers in vertical loops! -Lumber Run--a Miler roller coaster with dips, hills, and turns for the whole family to enjoy! -Seaside Swings--a Chance Yo-Yo that swings 36 passengers around in the air, giving a 360-degree view of Seaside Spot Theme Park and the Pacific Ocean -Big Dipper--SSTP's main attraction: a 76-foot-tall PTC wooden coaster with 1,388 feet of drops and turns right along the Pacific Ocean! (Out of character, I would like to point out a few things before you get to the photos: -I am not using ANY CSOs for this park. I run an iMac and have trouble installing CSOs, CTRs, and CFRs, so I am using purely RCT3 Platinum. -This is my first story park, so please give me a bunch of constructive criticism! I would REALLY appreciate your advice! -I understand this is a park that is located on the Pacific Ocean and there are mountains in the background of the lake; this is in Sandbox Mode so I cannot change that background, so just pretend there are no mountains and it is just more water! -EDIT: I would also like to add that I completely forgot restrooms in this update, so I will casually place then by the next one! Thank you, and again, please give me some criticism! I VERY much appreciate it! Now on to some photos.) An overview of Seaside Spot Theme Park The park's outdoor food court is right next to the entrance. A variety of food, drinks, and souvenirs are offered along with a small seating area. This is Lumber Run, the Miler family coaster located right at the park entrance. The star attraction, Big Dipper, traveling up the towering 76-foot lift Seaside Swings and Lumber Run in the background, with Force in the foreground The Pacific Ocean backdrop is what makes Seaside Spot Theme Park unique. Seaside Spot Theme Park offers lots of shade while strolling along the wide, open paths. Big Dipper is very popular on opening day; it is a wonderful wooden coaster that we love watching our guests enjoy! As you can see, Seaside Spot Theme Park has lots of room for expansion; we are looking toward a BIG future! And your mouths are going to DROP when you see what we are planning for 1976... One last view of Seaside Spot Theme Park and the surrounding area
  4. It would--except for the fact that there is a Chance version of the ride about 100 yards away. But then again, Leviathan.....
  5. Okay, mine is a little long. It's mainly a joke for Americans, but others might get it as well. There are 5 people on an airplane that is about to crash, but there are only 4 parachutes. The first person is President Obama. He says, "I am the President of this country, so I must save myself!" He takes a parachute and jumps. Now there are 4 people and 3 parachutes. The next person is Nancy Pelosi. She says, "I'm the smartest lady in America, so I must jump!" She grabs one and jumps. There are now 3 people and 2 parachutes. The next person is a guy who speaks a language nobody understands. He says, "Bdkfjalsjdkalxndjwlsjxnx" and jumps. We are now left with 2 people and 1 parachute. The first person is former President George W. Bush. The other person is an 11-year-old school girl. George says, "I'm the former President of the United States; I will sacrifice myself and let you jump." The school girl then says: "Nah, that's okay. The smartest lady in America took my school bag!"
  6. When you meet someone new and learn what country/state they are from, you immediately ask about a theme park near them.
  7. Ghost Rider--Knott's
  8. 14--My first roller coaster was Timberline Twister at Knott's; my first "big" coaster was the Bat at Lagoon.
  9. ^ Hmm--that's weird. Maybe rough isn't the right word; I guess it would be "uncomfortable." The lack of a seat divider and an individual seatbelt allows you to slam into the person next to you on those s-curves. It must be a personal preference because the GP seem to really like it.
  10. ^ Yeah, after the recent addition of Coast Rider, I would be a little disappointed to see a Vekoma SFC. And about Snoopy Bounce, the giant inflatable Snoopy has been gone for quite some time now, so unless they restore Snoopy back, I wouldn't mind it being removed. Anyway, here's a small trip report--just words, no pictures. Xcelerator was running one train, but the line never reached past the ramp. We went on this once. Coast Rider had about 2 switchbacks full. Great family coaster; definitely the best "transition" coaster from Timberline Twister but still not as crazy as Jaguar! or Sierra Sidewinder. Montezooma's Revenge was fantastic as always. No braking that I could notice. Definitely the 2nd best ride in the park (doesn't quite top Xcelerator)! Glad to see it so well-kept. A paint job would be nice though. The full Windseeker tower is still up. A giant crane is hanging out by it. The entire gondola is gone though. And since there are no apparent replacements for it in 2014, I think we will just be seeing a seating area replace it for now. Fiesta Village definitely needs it. We ate at the Mexican fast food place right under Silver Bullet's drop, and it was quite challenging to find a seat. Jaguar! was VERY rough. I've been on this ride countless times, but it seems to be getting rougher and rougher. It's almost to the point where it is hard to be classified as a family coaster--especially with a 48" height requirement. Not a very comfortable ride. Overall a good day in the park. Bigfoot Rapids was closed. The TMLR was open though; I love the new animatronics! Can't wait to see what Garner Holt comes up with for the Mine Ride next year. I'll also be heading to SFMM tomorrow (26th). I'll try and get some photos rather than just words.
  11. Aiolos. I LOVE its layout! Looks like a very forceful B&M Invert if it were built in real life.
  12. According to RCDB, Parc Asterix's Tivoli coaster is being relocated to Fraispertuis City, not scrapped.
  13. ^^^ Although I am curious why KK's model has inward guide rails (like Arrows) rather than the outward guide rails like the model shown on Chance's website.
  14. Very neat little coaster! I can see some very good potential airtime moments. And boy is their website overloaded right now.... Can't load it at all!
  15. That launch looks AMAZING! Definitely on my bucket list. It's a shame that such a forceful, intense coaster is at such a bad park almost half-way around the world. I give some props to Fuji-Q though for maintaining and operating such a rare, unreliable coaster type.
  16. ^ That and a nice set of RMC trains would be the icing on the cake for Knott's.
  17. I'm really looking forward to this coaster mainly because I like it when a coaster is designed in-house. It gives its park that little extra charm.
  18. ^Then there would be many complaints about SFGAm having 2 B&M Stand-Ups in the same park (until 2012). What if Kingda Ka's top hat was reversed to an inverted top hat and got lap bar trains?
  19. I've posted in this thread before, but another scheme I'd like to mention is solid red track with silver supports. http://rcdb.com/10523.htm?p=43526 It even looks good on a Boomerang!
  20. ^^With Formula Rossa just a hair under 150 MPH, I'm sure it could go well over 500 feet if built with a tower like KK/TTD. There is a 36-foot difference between KK and TTD, but only an 8 MPH difference in speed. I'm almost positive that the 22 MPH difference between KK and FR could easily make it go more than 50 feet higher to break the 500-foot barrier. I think the question is the amount of speed and forces the coaster car wheels can handle while ascending and descending the tower. It would be a sick ride though, especially if made with those awesome lap bar trains from Intamin (now I'm just dreaming)..... It sounds very possible though.
  21. ^I'm really going to miss that ride. I understand the reason for it leaving, but it was such a fun flat ride with a fantastic view. Hopefully another quality flat ride will take it's place. CF just filed a trademark for the name "Centurion"....
  22. Haven't been to either, but SDC sounds more intriguing to me. Powder Keg, Wildfire, and Outlaw Run sounds like a better coaster line-up than Mystery Mine, Thunderhead, and Wild Eagle. Both appear to be fantastic parks, but SDC takes the edge for me.
  23. 100% Cedar Fair. I've had countless problems at Six Flags parks like terrible operations, rude employees, and overall just a bad park experience. I've never had a problem with Cedar Fair employees, and in their parks I just always feel welcome.
  24. So excited for this game! I really have no problem with them pushing back the date. I'd rather wait longer for a perfected game than get it now with a bunch of bugs and un-added features. I can't wait to see what else they have in store before April. My expectations were exceeded long ago!
