22 February 1978 Hello Today is the day we announce Seaside Spot Theme Park's new attraction for 1978! Drum roll please... For 1978, we will be introducing FOREST RUN! Forest Run is an all-new, state-of-the-art launched coaster that will catapult riders both forwards and backwards through a long, inline course that includes two end spikes and a vertical loop! Forest Run will make its debut Summer 1978! Maximum height: 148 feet Maximum speed: 55 M.P.H. Ride time: 0:35 seconds Capacity: 1100 people per hour Here is some concept art of Forest Run! Construction is already well underway for Forest Run! Scaffolding is set up for the construction of the station. Many supports and track pieces are already in place! It shouldn't be long until we see vertical construction completed! Some more track pieces and supports are waiting to get installed! As for Lumber Run, it appears it is getting a fresh coat of paint this season! The California sun has really faded it over the last 3 years. And here is a lasting view of Seaside Spot Theme Park! I can't wait to check out Forest Run when completed!

What type of enthusiast are you?
thrillseeker4552 replied to arby's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I like thrills. Theming is cool and a bonus if there but I'm not one of those insane theming Disney enthusiasts or anything. Aside from Space Mountain (which I'll admit is a pretty cool ride), pretty much everything at Disneyland bored the crap out of me. I'd rather drive 1 hour north and sacrifice a little park quality to get my brain shaken around on X2 or free fall 400 feet straight down, all for a fraction of the price of a DL ticket. This is why Knott's is my favorite SoCal park. It is a perfect marriage of Six Flags and DL. It has some good thrills while maintaing charm and theming in certain areas. Nothing against Disneyland or its excellent park quality and awesome service, but I guess I just see myself as a thrill seeker (hence my username). -
Game: When was the last time you...

4 days ago. When was the last time you rode an inverted coaster? -
Just submitted mine for the first time (never done it before)! Here is my top 10. 1. Maverick -- beyond-vertical drop, smooth ride, twists, abrupt airtime, launch, inversions: Maverick has it all 2. Millennium Force -- great drop, awesome speed, floater airtime, and a nice long ride 3. Top Thrill Dragster -- 120 MPH, 420 feet, lap bars only, need I say more? 4. X2 -- insane, just pure insane 5. Full Throttle -- awesome hangtime, great launches, and good positive Gs too 6. Xcelerator -- my favorite launch on any coaster, ever 7. Tatsu -- such a great flying sensation on a beautiful setting atop a mountain 8. Goliath -- excellent positive Gs, a great floater hill, and a nice drop 9. Desperado -- rough, out-of-control feeling with some powerful air at certain points 10. Magnum XL-200 -- same reasons as Desperado, but more rough thus being beneath it

8 October 1977 Hello Seaside Spot's 1977 season is coming to a close, and it was a successful one! Guests very much enjoyed Adventure Cars this summer. However, some land clearing has begun around Adventure Cars and the park's main entrance. I wonder what it could be? While I can't tell you what our big surprise is quite yet, I can say that the announcement will be made on 22 February 1978! (Out of character, I would like to mention that I managed to get JCat's Steelworx on my iMac. Still no CTRs or CFRs, but some minor custom scenery may be involved from now on.) Fall is coming in as Seaside Spot's season is coming to a close. Some land clearing has begun on the east side of the park near Adventure Cars. The shape of the land being cleared is unusual, but that could mean anything... Whatever it is, it seems that it may have some kind of interaction with Adventure Cars. Do I see something back interesting back there? Hmm... It looks like some track pieces and columns have arrived. Only time will tell...

I know there are quite a few Disney fans on here, so while it was a kid's game I'll take a shot and ask. Did anyone every play ToonTown Online? I played it for several years and got quite leveled up in it, but it shut down in September 2013. ToonTown Rewritten is being created by the community because people miss the game so much, and it is basically a private server for the game that is in Alpha testing. Just curious if anyone else played TT.

Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
thrillseeker4552 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think I recall sometime a while ago when Matt Ouimet said he strongly dislikes the idea of a flyer going into Cedar Point (or any other CF park really). Could someone clear this up or am I just remembering things? -
New Intamin looper train?
thrillseeker4552 replied to kadabrium's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I believe the new Intamin looping trains have more minimal restraints that Skyrush and the U-Coaster in China. They appear to be much more comfortable too. And while Intamin's lap bars may be getting better, you can't beat Mack's launch coaster trains. -
By the way, speaking of swarm, this is something I've been asking to myself since it opened: why the hell is it that it is considered a 5-inversions coaster when, in reality, the supposed "inclined loop" (which looks more like an inclined helix to me) barely (if at all) goes beyond 90 degrees? I know this might not be the question of the decade but it's something that makes me genuinely curious. I believe it is fair to call the B&M Stand-Up inclined loops an inversion as they are over 135 degrees, but Swarm's is hardly past 90, so it bugs me too when they call it an inversion. In my opinion, it is not an inversion unless it is 135+ degrees.

Improving Parks
thrillseeker4552 replied to crispy's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Knott's. The new Boardwalk, new paint on Bullet, Sidewinder, and Boomerang, Camp Snoopy improvements, Log Ride/Mine Ride renovations, new pavement, and most of all restoring their history. The park looks A LOT better now than it did 5 year ago. -
2 April 1977 Hello! Spring Break has now started here in Malibu, California, and Seaside Spot Theme Park has been getting some Spring Break crowds! Guests are happy to visit because our new attraction for 1977 is now open! I introduce to you Adventure Cars; grab a partner and drive your own truck over a lake and through green scenery! Not only has Adventure Cars opened, but a leisurely walkway the leads to a nice seating area has been created that interacts with Adventure Cars! Here are some photos! Seaside Spot Theme Park is looking nice and green from the bloom of Spring! Here is our new attraction for 1977: Adventure Cars! Adventure Cars is located adjacent to Big Dipper on the South side of the park. Adventure Walk and Adventure Cars both cross over a small man-made lake. A small seating area is located within Adventure Cars. Aside from the new attraction, Big Dipper is in its 3rd season and is still thrilling guests and is a rather smooth wooden coaster! Families taking a ride on Lumber Run Force is quite the thrill here at Seaside Spot! Only the ultimate thrill seekers can dare the Force! The updated food court that was introduced last year is much more appealing and organized and is a lot more appreciated by guests. And as an end to this update, here is a photo of Parachute Plunge! Until next time!

The Rumor / Crazy Idea Superthread
thrillseeker4552 replied to Wes's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'd love to see a wild mouse with slightly outward-banked turns (like on El Locos). That way the wild mice can be trimmed to death and still give laterals/minor negative Gs! -
Kings Island (KI) Discussion Thread
thrillseeker4552 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The Bat is going to look really good when finished. I can't wait to ride it and Banshee this summer! Is there any word on a possible re-theme of the area? Action Zone doesn't exactly seem like an area to contain The Bat and Banshee. -
Adventureland (Iowa) Discussion Thread
thrillseeker4552 replied to rbpia's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ They mentioned that it will be 100 feet taller than the park's S&S tower, so I'd assume it is the standard 300-foot version. -

Looks good! I totally forgot that a Windseeker is being built outside of Cedar Fair! -
Liseberg Discussion Thread
thrillseeker4552 replied to viking86's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ Knott's Berry Farm, Kings Dominion, and Cedar Point all have three launch coasters. Back on topic, Helix looks REALLY good. It is everything I wished Full Throttle was going to be. -
I was debating about posting this in the KI Discussion Thread or here, but since this is mostly questions about the park, I decided here. My family and I have confirmed a midwest trip this summer. We will be visiting Cedar Point, Kings Island, Kentucky Kingdom, and Mammoth Caves in Bowling Green, KY. I've already been to Cedar Point, so I have a few questions about Kings Island and its coasters. -How is Diamondback in terms of a hyper coaster? Lots of airtime? No airtime? How would it compare to Millennium Force? -Is Beast another one of those intolerably rough Cedar Fair wooden coasters, or is it actually pretty decent? How would it compare to Ghost Rider? -Is Firehawk a good flying coaster? It will be my first Vekoma flyer. How would it compare to Tatsu? -Is Invertigo better or worse than standard Boomerangs? These were just a few questions I had. It would be great if some of them could be answered. Thanks! I will probably end up with more in the future.
