  1. Since this is confirmed to be shorter than the standard Windseekers, will the tower be thinner in diameter? It looks thinner in that photo.
  2. ^I've been on a number of log flumes, and the TMLR is definitely my favorite. However that may be biased a little as Knott's is my home park.
  3. 2 April 1979 Hello again! The sun is shining, the weather is warm, and Spring is blooming here in sunny Malibu, California. And the 1979 season is beginning here at Seaside Spot Theme Park. With that, some park improvements have been made for 1979 such as adding shade to queue lines and planting more trees and shrubbery. Now on to photos! A new season at Seaside Spot is beginning! The queue covers for Big Dipper and Adventure Cars have been completed! Getting out of the sun while waiting for their favorite ride is very much appreciated by our guests. The shade cover for Parachute Plunge Fortunately, Force is back up and operating--with a new theme! The queue line has been reconfigured, and the entrance has been moved to the newly-developed adventure-themed area. Force is now known has Treetop Twist! Our guests wait in line for the newly-themed thrill ride Now located in the adventure area are three rides: Forest Run, Adventure Cars, and the newly-themed ride: Treetop Twist! Forest Run is still going strong a whole season later! 28 guests board the train almost every cycle! It sure is popular. Another park improvement for 1979 is more trees and vegetation! Some more trees have been planted in and around the Lumber Run area to give more of a "forest" feel. All in all, Seaside Spot is still going strong while entering its 5th season! Guests love the family thrills it has to offer, as well as the beautiful shoreline and weather! I can't wait to share what the future will bring. There is a lot of open space, and we are looking towards a BIG future!
  4. ^Um, I believe he was right. Gatekeeper opened in 2013, not 2012.

  6. 2 November 1978 Hello The 1978 season at Seaside Spot was a HUGE success with Forest Run! But the Fall season is now coming in as the Summer season ends, and some changes to the park and becoming present. Because of the large investment of Forest Run last year, the 1979 season at Seaside Spot will be some park improvements. Let's see what's happening! Fall is coming in at Seaside Spot. The weather is still great though due to the Southern California location and the position right on the Pacific! One excellent improvement that is coming in 1979 is shade to queue lines! The "skeleton" is already completed! There are some light crowds today! November is a great time to visit! Hardly any wait at all for Parachute Plunge! Despite the low crowds today, Forest Run is still sending out full trains! This ride sure is popular! Unfortunately, no shade will be coming to Seaside Swings' queue line due to clearance issues, but on the bright side, it is a walk-on! As for Force, it has been closed since last June. I wonder what's going on... The lamp posts have been removed from the queue line. I would hate to see Force go; it is such a unique attraction. Let's hope Force doesn't stay closed for too long. Maybe it's just an annual refurbishment. It has been running year-round for 4 years now... And that's it for now! I can't wait to see the park improvements for the 1979 season completed! And fingers crossed for Force...
  7. It's pretty much the same scenario at Knott's Boardwalk. The new family additions didn't affect Xcelerator at all. If anything Xcelerator got more riders as the new additions brought more people to that area, from kids to thrill junkies.
  8. Didn't Nitro have some type of knob as a back up safety system at one point? Other than that I don't think any B&M Hyper has had modifications (unless you count Steel Dragon). Adding seatbelts would not be good...
  9. ^Agreed! That's why I'm thrilled for Lightning Run this Summer; it uses an old track type but the ride is modern and has much better trains over the old Arrow Hypers. It would be cool to see Morgan step up and create some medium-sized loopers with those new HyperGTX trains! PS: Post #400!
  10. ^I believe that was the point of Tarheel's post---to mock Cedar Fair and their excessive use of "hawk" in ride names.
  11. I really don't see SFMM or CP building a Polercoaster at any point in the near future. Polercoasters seem to be more of a Las Vegas Strip attraction or a main draw for a casino, not a member of a large theme park with many roller coasters already there. That's just my view of it.
  12. ^The one where they go to Vegas? Haven't seen it yet, but REALLY want to! My favorites are the Big Bang Theory, Modern Family, and The Middle.
  13. Nice report! I'm a little surprised you think so positively on namtaB. When I rode it for the season pass preview, it left me a nice headache for the rest of the day. I prefer it forwards, but to each his own.
  14. You might be a coaster nerd if you know that there is a Premier spaghetti bowl coaster outside the US that still has OTSRs! http://rcdb.com/3511.htm
  15. I went to Knott's yesterday for about half a day yesterday. I saw Monte with its train split up on the brakes behind the station. Looks like quite a bit of work is going on. It's nice to see such care for a Schwarzkopf.
  16. Can and will? I mean it is capable of running 3, and it will run 3. Wasn't it confirmed by the park sometime back?
  17. ^I believe Banshee can and will run 3 trains. Leviathan is similar in having no MCBR, and it can run 3 trains quite smoothly. One train must be past the first set of brakes on the final brake run before another train can release from the lift hill.
  18. It appears that the "main" area of the coaster is completed. All that's left is the brake/station/lift area. As others have said, I LOVE how there are no gimmicks with this; it's just a classic steel coaster. I hope more of these pop up around the U.S. (Knott's Berry Farm, maybe?).
  19. Considering how well Cedar Fair transformed KBF's Boardwalk, I have no doubt that this and VF's Route 76 will be just as good, if not better. This area definitely felt dull on my visit back in 2012. I'm glad Cedar Fair has been doing these little "family area" additions to their parks. It's yet another step in the right direction for them.
  20. It appears to have some great positive Gs as well as some awesome backwards airtime! Screwed up, but cool!
  21. WOW, what a gorgeous theme park! Phenomenal work!
  22. This is a little off-topic, but when SFGAdv sent back their GL train to use on Riddler, was an 8th row added to it? I know GL has 7 rows and RR has 8. Just curious.
  23. Lightning Run looks good. It's such a simple coaster but appears to have a lot of ! I can't wait to ride it this Summer on the Midwest trip my family is taking!
  24. ^I hope that's a primer. It would be very disappointing to take this beautiful yellow and green Intamin and paint it an ugly white.
  25. Cedar Point. Maverick, Millennium Force, and TTD. Massive height (TTD), sustained speed (MF), and twisty airtime craziness (Maverick)
