  1. Does anybody know if Knott's owns the land West of the Boardwalk? I was browsing around on Google Earth to try and find a spot for a new coaster, and I thought that if the station/brake run is where the KoD building is, they could have a mega coaster extend across the road (like Goliath at SFOG) and in that area. I'm pretty sure they own it, but would it be possible for a coaster to go there? In Matt Ouimet's interview, he said that there are things planned for in the KoD building. Just some speculation...
  2. Maverick has great airtime, but it only happens about 3 times throughout the ride. For a ride with floater air spread a throughout the ride, I'd have to say Ghost Rider. Despite it being very rough, almost every hill throws me out of my seat - especially in the second half. I can only imagine how insane it was before the MCBR trimmed speed!
  3. Exactly. I've ridden Silver Bullet, Raptor (CP), and a Batman clone and Silver Bullet is my favorite for this reason. Once, I rode Silver Bullet 12 times in a row. It was a very slow day (I think it was a weekday in early March last year) and the operator let my friend and I ride it over and over again, 12 times in a row, front car. It was awesome! Could I do that to Batman or Raptor? No way. Batman is just too insane for me (and I'm pretty tolerant to coasters) and Raptor is just...eh...giant Batman.
  4. I really like my area. Knott's and Disneyland are an hour away (with good traffic you can get away with 50 minutes). SFMM is about 2 hours. USH is about 1 hour 45 min. Seaworld is about an 1 hour 15 min South. And CGA and SFDK are within a day drive. EDIT: I would also like to add what was said above. All of these parks I listed are year round. Some are only open on weekends during the Winter, but they're open! I also forgot to add Legoland, which is about an hour away.
  5. Both are still unlimited, they just did a 2nd tier to it now with 2 more coasters (in Cedar Point's case, Gatekeeper and Top Thrill Dragster) added with FastLane Plus. This was mainly a fix to add coasters that previously though FastLane wasn't a good choice because of already existing capacity issues, but now with a more limited FastLane Plus, they're able to add those rides, and then they just pulled out the most popular ride from the normal FastLane to add to FastLane Plus. OK, thank you for clearing that up.
  6. Amusement park. I would rather have an awesome ride without a theme rather than real pathetic ride with great theming.
  7. I'm a little confused. Didn't we already get unlimited rides anyway? When I went to Cedar Point last Summer, we got Fast Lane and we could ride as many times as we want.
  8. I have the ability to ride both this year, so this is a very tough decision. I will have to say Gatekeeper. Full Throttle looks like lots of fun, but Gatekeeper's pure size and length is amazing. The gorgeous, exaggerated elements of a B&M Wing coaster beat the worlds biggest loop in my opinion.
  9. My vote goes to Ghost Rider. If it got completely re-tracked with topper track along with new RMC trains, it could become the great coaster it once was. Not to mention, RMC's western-looking trains like on Outlaw Run would definitely fit Ghost Rider's theme.
  10. Still crossing my fingers for a new Vekoma train, but at least they're making the old one look nice.
  11. Looks great! I really look forward to riding it this summer. It's just a wild mouse, but hey, it's a new credit!
  12. ^ If anybody were to do a beyond-vertical drop on a woodie, I can safely assume it to be RMC. They would have to get very creative with the structure/supports though... Anyway, Outlaw Run looks fantastic! You're right, Robb, I think SDC really does have a winner in their hands.
  13. So does anyone know if Coast Rider have a constant moving platform you load on (like HRRR) or will it completely stop to load? I think if it were to constantly be moving capacity would be much better. Looks like a great family ride but I hope it has at least decent capacity.
  14. ^^ I agree with the SLC statement. Would be a good fit for the park.
  15. While we're on the subject of Coast Rider, does anybody know the hourly capacity for these types of rides (Ricochet or Fly)? I know it isn't much but does anyone know an approximate number?
  16. ^ Exactly. I'm sure they have a reason for what they're doing. Doesn't really matter anyway. Still looks like a great ride!
  17. Awesome! Can't wait to see pictures of vertical construction. Because of the compact size this ride should be built fairly quickly.
  18. ^ I'm not sure about coming to a complete stop, but they have to significantly slow down regardless due to the small radius on the following drop. If it didn't brake, the negative forces would be way too strong. So I think whether it completely stops or not doesn't really matter because the magnetic brakes slow it down to 2 or 3 mph anyway.
  19. You know, I don't get why more wood coasters use steel supports. They're stronger, last longer, and faster to assemble. If you still want that classic wood coaster look, paint the supports brown! I don't think anybody has done that before. But wow this looks like a killer GCI!
  20. I'm really amazed at how this park is shaping up. Makes me wish I live in Orlando!
  21. At first I was very disappointed that Knott's blew their chance for a large coaster (Did you know that they actually were going to? They had the markers and everything!) but they chose the family rides instead. Now that I think about it, the park looks a whole lot better than it did a year ago. Glad they chose to improve the park rather than just a coaster. It really does look beautiful!
  22. I'm very excited for this! It gets pretty hot down here in the summer, so a water park 8 miles from my house will definitely be worth it!
  23. You mean like this? Yes, I am aware of those coasters. I hardly consider them roller coasters, but you are right. Plus, there are only...what......two in operation? One maybe? What I was thinking was more of a Mack-type spinning coaster (with multiple cars per train) with back-to-back seating that enhances the freedom of flying.
  24. I'm not sure you can really call it "complaining", its more like this: [youtu_be] [/youtu_be] Haha, I guess you're right. And I'm hoping to head down there sometime soon. Hopefully before the spring break crowds. I'll make sure to grab some photos. Hopefully by then the Superman plaza will be open with the track overhead. It will make some great photo opportunities of the dive loop!
  25. You know, ever since Full Throttle was announced, people have complained about it for several reasons, but now that vertical construction has started and track has been installed, I think it will be a pretty awesome coaster! Simple yet unique at the same time.
