I'm not sure how many of you are familiar with Coaster Dynamix, but I am trying to make a Wing coaster. CD typically only makes B&M coaster models. I have a Dive, Sitting, Inverted, and a Floorless. Sometime I'm going to get a Hyper, but I would also like a Wing coaster. I know that CD doesn't make Wing coasters, but does anyone know how there might be a way to custom-make one? Could I remove the inner 6 seats of my Dive train and leave the outer two seats? CD already discontinued their line of Hyper and Dive trains; could they be making a Wing coaster? I am just thinking of what model to make, and I really think it would be cool to make a Wing. I'm just not sure how to make the train...

I highly doubt Knott's will remove Bigfoot Rapids. They already removed one water ride, and with the extreme California heat in the summers, water rides are essential. If Bigfoot Rapids got removed, all Knott's would have is the TMLR. I understand that they have Soak City next door, but people like to ride water rides without paying extra for another park. I think the only place we have hope for KBF's hyper coaster is between Bigfoot Rapids and Ghost Rider. Fiesta Village and Boardwalk are both tight on space, and Ghost Town is the only area where they could possible fit a B&M Hyper. As long as they have a place for the station, transfer tracks, and queue, they can raise the entire layout and put it anywhere.

Underrated Coasters?
thrillseeker4552 replied to Yero's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think Silver Bullet is an under-rated coaster. We all know that it isn't as intense as Raptor, the Batman clones, or Nemesis, but it is very smooth and has a nice flow of elements. It's worth mentioning that I have been on three inverts: Raptor at CP, Batman at SFMM, and Silver Bullet at KBF. Silver Bullet is my favorite. I can ride it over and over again, but I can only ride Raptor or Batman a couple times before I get a headache. -
Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said

^ This. He would of been fired if Mr. K was still in charge. I might have worded this wrong. It wasn't intended as sarcasm. When I said "it" I was referring to TTD, not Ghost Rider. He really was correct! -
It would be a very tight fit. I would assume a possible ride removal would take place to make room for a station area. I have never been to the park, but from looking at Google Maps, the raft ride seems like a good fit. Would it be a crime to remove this? It has been rumored that Bigfoot Rapids is leaving but there is no way that the current Knott's management will build a giga. A B&M mini-hyper makes more sense. I agree. As awesome as a giga would be, the chances that a park like KBF will add one is very small. It is very likely that they will add a B&M Mega, though, whether it's a miniature one or the full 230 feet. Either way, they need space. As long as there is space for the station, transfer/storage track, and the queue, the track can really go anywhere as long as the layout is raised, like Silver Bullet.

Honestly, if they turn the train backwards on Boomerang, it really won't change the ride at all... Yup. Honestly, the park won't turn the ride backwards unless they can promote it as a new experience, which it wouldn't be. If any ride should be turned backwards, it should be Silver Bullet. That over-banked turn...

There are so many choices for a backyard roller coaster. I would have to say a mini B&M Floorless. They are reliable, compact, and definitely thrilling. For a flat, I would say an S&S Double Shot. They are only about 90 feet tall, and the loading platform is...what...30 feet x 30 feet? That could realistically fit in my backyard! Edit: Actually, I would want a knock-off SLC. Hehehe!

Knott's has been surprising us a lot lately with the refurbishment of old rides. I wouldn't be surprised if we see a topper track treatment along with some new RMC trains in the near future on Ghost Rider. If Ghost Rider does get refurbished, Boomerang got new trains, and we get a new thrilling coaster in the next few years, I would probably prefer Knott's over SFMM.

Maybe I can clear some things up. Electromagnets, meaning LIMs and LSMs, can propel a coaster from a complete stop. However, they can't bring a train to a halt. That is why rides like California Screamin' have only two ride components that move the train: electromagnets and friction brakes. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I am very sure, if not certain, that impulse coasters have friction brakes in the station. I remember, while in line for Wicked Twister, I was watching how the ride works. Electromagnets propel the train, both forwards and backwards, as it cycles back and forth through the station. When the ride is complete, friction brakes come in contact with addition brake fins mounted on the train. As far as I know, it is impossible to use pure electromagnets to stop a coaster; but, there is one exception: Superman: UF at SFDK. Does anyone know how it purely runs off of electromagnets, both to propel and stop the coaster?

Boomerang has lots of potential to be a great ride. A new paint job along with new Vekoma trains would actually convince me to ride it rather than pass it like it isn't there. I'm glad Knott's is catering to their classics rather than remove them. Boomerang really is a great ride; it just has a painful, old train. I feel the same about Viper at SFMM. If they could replace old Arrow/Vekoma coasters with newer, more comfortable trains, they really can be amazing rides.

Roller Coaster of the 'Future'
thrillseeker4552 replied to Sharkyjon's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Going backwards or forwards does not increase or decrease the amount of forces the human body can tolerate, because if we are talking about positive G's and airtime, the accelerations that you are experiencing are directed towards the center of the circle that the track makes; this doesn't change whether or not you are going backwards or forwards. Forward and backward accelerations (like launching and braking) are a completely different story however and have very different limits. OK, thanks for clearing that up. I still think a backwards hyper coaster would be neat. Navigating through backwards inversions are pretty common with the boomerangs and other shuttle coasters. However, backwards ejector airtime (or standard airtime in general) has never been attempted yet. What about El Toro backwards?! If that's not a thrill, I don't know what is...
