  1. My final wind ensemble concert of the year was tonight, and I nailed it. I had a solo in a song called "Africa, Ceremony Song and Ritual" and I don't wish to sound arrogant, but oh my gosh it was absolutely gorgeous. All the hard work paid off in a 10 bar solo.
  2. I have been on Ninja, Iron Dragon, and the Bat. The Bat is my favorite of that bunch.
  3. If you've ridden a dive machine, then I guess that's your opinion, but I don't find the two rides to be similar at all. If anything, Riddler's a bigger, taller, more painful version of scream. I find Scream to be much more painful than Riddler, but you're right in that the two rides are similar. It makes me happy that we have Scream, meaning Riddler will not get the conversion, because that thing is about as great as stand-ups get and I hope it stays that way for a long time.
  4. I have always thought about this. I love Lex Luthor, but imagine how much cooler it would be if it shot you up to the top with the LSMs, being weightless at the top, then freefalling back down. Although the ride would be much shorter (albeit helping capacity). With electromagnets getting stronger and strogner, this definitely seems possible at some point in the future.
  5. Nice photos! That disk-o almost seems like a "mini-Phobia" being almost the exact same color scheme.
  6. Removing a unique B&M Invert only to replace it with a B&M Stand-Up makes no sense to me, but to each his own. This thread isn't exactly known for being realistic anyway. I won't make a thorough 5-year plan, but for my home park (Knott's), I'm fairly confident we will see a renovation of Fiesta Village for 2017. By that point, that is the only area of the park that hasn't received a major restoration. This could include some Montezooma love and a new flat in Windseeker's spot.
  7. Fantastic report! Your opinion on Valravn seems pretty reasonable. The layout really looks great; it seems like the restraints are what kill the ride (even if they are comfortable, like you said, they are restricting). Hopefully I'll be able to make it back to the Point soon... I'm so jealous!
  8. Wow! Monster has some excellent pacing! Hopefully it maintains that speed when it opens. Can't wait for the POV!
  9. Looks awesome! I find it super interesting how they fill up and drain that splashdown so efficiently. I'm loving what MACK has been doing lately!
  10. Dorney Park's model is small like the one that was removed from Knott's. I'm sure the larger versions at Valleyfair and Cedar Point aren't going anywhere for the time being.
  11. The difference I think he's referring to with how wide the track for Valravn is is comparable to Griffin at BGW. Griffin had 10 across seating alas using the old restraints. Valravn has 8 across but with the new restraints, as the new restraints require wider track. The very reason why Rougarou last year did not receive the new restraints as they couldn't widen the track for the wider trains required. That makes a lot of sense. I always wondered why Rougarou didn't get the new restraints.
  12. I would love to see a flat package similar to what other Six Flags parks are receiving. A Zamperla Giant Discovery would be fantastic. But knowing SFMM, they may just be going for their 20th coaster (which better not be a Super Loop...).
  13. The new restraints make that big of a difference, huh? That's disappointing. They could have had higher capacity with the other restraints, and a better ride. Higher capacity? What's the difference between the two, dispatch wise? Also, aren't the newer restraints more accommodating for smaller riders? I believe GateKeeper and Valravn allow 52" while Raptor and Rougarou are 54". While I could see how the ride could be better with the original restraints, I can also see what justified Cedar Point's decision to give it the new restraints (same goes for Banshee, too).
  14. But Kentucky Kingdom can't break their streak of storm-named rides! Lightning Run, Thunder Run, Storm Chaser...
  15. FANTASTIC photos! This ride looks amazing. It's nice to finally see a big dive coaster in the US once again. Hopefully more will start popping up, as they seem to be B&Ms best product.
  16. It's very simple. You get a wristband and that wristband lets you cut the line (most rides have designated lines for them, if not, it's up the exit). That's all there is to it. And remember, you can't skip the lines on a few top attractions (I forget which ones they are this year) unless you have FastLane Plus. I'd assume Valravn is one of them.
  17. Say what you want about Silver Bullet being forceless, but that coaster is butter smooth. It's probably the smoothest B&M I've ridden.
  18. Looks great! With some luck, I may head up there this summer and get some more use out of my Six Flags pass. With Superman and now Joker, I'm very very tempted.
  19. Translation: "Star Flyers scare me poo-poo less"! Sounds pretty accurate. I am almost never scared of any ride, but those Windseekers always make me feel a little vulnerable. I can't imagine how much more terrifying the 400-foot one feels, especially being suspended by chains.
  20. That's a sweet looking entrance for a sweet looking ride. Too bad I can't visit this summer... maybe 2017!
  21. I love it when new rides interact with older attractions. I'm still LOVING the color scheme! Thanks for all who post photos.
