  1. ^I'm also surprised they went with Mondial after all the issues the 6 Windseekers have had. But Mondial has some great flats; I'd love to see more frisbees and top scans at CF parks if they continue to purchase from them.
  2. Looks fantastic! That little drop after the helix looks like a major head-chopper!
  3. This has to be one of the best things said on this forum, at least that I've seen. Six Flags has been surprising me with they way they are handling the VR headsets (in a good way), so hopefully nobody will have any type of infection!
  4. It's Spring Break, so pretty much every day will be crowded. Crowds between Monday and Thursday are all about the same, while Friday through Sunday are busier. Either way, most major rides will have at least a 30-minute line, with Tatsu, X2, Goliath, and Full Throttle being well over an hour.
  5. This is definitely an odd decision by Busch, but we'll see. I still find it hilarious how Tempesto, a large thrilling coaster, was literally announced at the last minute, and this tiny wanna-be family coaster has been hyped up this early. I'll save more of my thoughts for when we get more renderings and information, but for now, BGW is really confusing me with their actions.
  6. It is surprising how Dollywood has installed 3 roller coasters in the last 4 years. Like you said, that's not a bad thing at all! I've never been to Dollywood (I NEED to get there!), but a drop tower does seem like an important ride they are lacking. I'd LOVE to see a Falcon's Fury type...imagine the views!
  7. I honestly wouldn't mind a Super Loop at SFMM. What I would mind, however, is if they marketed that as their 20th coaster... That would be a HUGE shame!
  8. I'm just waiting for the day when Intamin actually builds a 500-foot AquaTrax, and all our dreams come true!
  9. I don't know, maybe it's just me, but this whole boat thing is getting pretty old. It was funny at first but after weeks and weeks I can't possibly be the only one who is getting a little tired of it... That being said, Valravn looks fantastic, and I imagine the first test run will be very soon. GateKeeper's first test run was on April 4, so it's likely that Valravn's will be somewhere in that ballpark.
  10. Six Flags has stated several times that they wipe down each set with a medically-approved sanitation wipe after each use. How well it works--it's probably too early to tell. But they claim to have it under control. I believe the part that touches your face is also made with some special anti-bacterial leather or something along those lines.
  11. The majority of the general public don't know or care that the same ride exists at another park. Enthusiasts do, but most of their visitors (who come from a local area) do not visit more than one Six Flags park. I can't tell you how many people I've met at school (I'm fairly local to SFMM) who were surprised to hear that there is more than one Superman or Batman ride, and better yet, more than one "Six Flags" park. I'm sure Six Flags wouldn't do it if it didn't work for them. Just my two cents.
  12. Nice photos. I've always enjoyed frisbee rides. Does anybody else find it a little funny how such a big space was left open for a tiny (in relation to Shockwave's footprint) ride? Any word on if they are adding something else to the area?
  13. Speedy Gonzalez Hot Rod Racers at SFMM. I finally rode it after ignoring it over the last 2 years. #89.
  14. Thanks for the report! I might be heading there with a few friends sometime next week. The Boysenberry Festival is one of my favorite times to visit!
  15. Like Robb said earlier, I find it extremely ironic that Busch is going with a GCI after recently closing one down. Granted, Gwazi was one of the earlier GCIs and their designs have changed a bit since then. Also, BGW has some noise guidances they have to follow, right? Do you think we'll see nylon wheels on this one (like Wodan) to make it less noisy?
  16. Yes, the capacity for the Gerstlauer Sky Roller is only 24 passengers per ride. I find this a problem especially when Canada's Wonderland decided to add Fastlane to Skyhawk. The only time you're really going to be able to ride it without waiting a long time is on days when the weather is inclement, during weekdays in May through June, or later in the day. Despite all the potential capacity problems, I'm still very excited to ride Skyhawk! Ah, I see. Either way, it's nice to see Cedar Fair add flats to their parks, and Canada's Wonderland already had a superb flat ride collection to begin with.
  17. Looks great! I'd love to see more of these pop up at Cedar Fair parks. This ride would fit perfectly in Windseeker's spot at Knott's. And correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't the capacities on these things atrocious?
  18. I'm surprised that they were only open until 8 and now only extended to 9. Six Flags Over Georgia is open until 10pm every night for HITP and the place seems plenty busy. I wouldn't mind them staying open later even! What time does it even get dark at Magic Mountain in December? Here it's just before 7pm. In California in December, it gets dark around 5:30-6:00.
  19. I enjoy dark rides for what they are. They will never compete on the same scale as large roller coasters, but they appeal to a wide range of people and are almost essential to every major amusement park. The old theater area (and that area of the park) could not be a more perfect spot for SFMM to add a Justice League ride.
  20. Thanks for the report! After seeing this video and the one from SFOG, I have a little more confidence in this concept. Six Flags seems to be handling this pretty well, and it looks like a lot of fun. As long as people aren't stupid (try to take them off mid-ride, which is probably inevitable), I could see this being a hit. Can't wait to try TNR at SFMM in a few weeks.
  21. Granted, but it never opens. I wish SFMM would open a brand new coaster every year for the next 10 years.
  22. Wait...what? Chang was installed and operating at Kentucky Kingdom before the property was sold to Premier Parks (and shortly thereafter became a Six Flags branded property) This is what I was going at, but I guess that same argument applies to the Vortexes as the poster above me said, so I was wrong. Hydra is the only B&M Floorless coaster without a vertical loop.
  23. Just thought I'd bump this thread as some of these facts are very interesting. Kings Island built both the very first (1981) and very last (1993) Arrow Suspended Coaster. Aside from Chang, every B&M Stand-Up was built at either a Six Flags or a Cedar Fair park.
  24. Six Flags definitely loves green and purple this year! I can't wait to eventually ride one of these S&S versions--the Intamin version at SFMM is such a hit and miss when it comes to comfort; these S&S versions seem much better in that regard. I hope these little FreeSpins become a trend in the US like the Premier Sky Rockets. They're unique little coasters with a small footprint that may hit the price point for many parks.
