About time they paid attention to the water park, I think the last addition was the Proslide Tornado back in 2006. I'd love to see one of those trap door slide towers that CF has been adding to other parks. I wonder if the dry park will also be getting something in 2017? There's rumors of Boomerang closing down, but I can't imagine they'd take out a coaster without something to replace it. I read a rumor awhile back on another site (can't find it now) that a park employee claims to have glimpsed plans in an office for some type of coaster in place of Boomerang and Riptide. This person said it was just an overhead layout of a long and narrow coaster that wrapped around Sky Cabin and appeared to loop out over the lagoon between Johnny Rocket's and Coast Rider. It also appeared to enter and exit a tunnel through the backside of Calico Mine Ride, but that could have just been the lighting. According to Google Earth that space including the loop around Sky Cabin but not section over the lagoon is about 540 by 135 feet. The lagoon adds about 180 by 180 feet. That's 104,625 total square feet of area, some of it having to pass over walkways. Xcelerator by comparison is 76,600 sqft and Silver Bullet is 153,800 sqft. What kind if coaster would fit there? A GCI could. Considering GhostRider is essentially a GCI now, I don't see this as very likely. I'm stoked about a Soak City upgrade. That park definitely needs some new paint and maybe a drop capsule tower.

Adventureland (Iowa) Discussion Thread

Maybe I missed it, but has there been an official POV for this ride yet? It looks like an amazing addition to this park that I always forget exists! -
About 95% of the time I browse the forum, I am on my laptop. The other 5% is with Tapatalk on my iPhone, but that's rare since Tapatalk doesn't load some photos, so viewing trip reports/announcements can be difficult. The only times I consume content on my iPhone is through social media (particularly Twitter and Instagram). I also watch most of TPR's YouTube videos through my phone as well. The only time I watch YouTube videos through my laptop is when it is linked through the forum, which isn't too often. Short answer: 1. Forums = laptop 2. Social media/YouTube = phone I voted laptop/desktop since I view the forums very, very often. It's essentially my browser homepage!

Thank you for the advice. We are pretty set on getting them at SFGAdv and SFNE as I have never been to those parks, we factored it into the price of our vacation, and we will likely never be back for a long time. About Six Flags America, the reason I considered it is because Superman will likely have an awful line due to the VR, and I'd like to get multiple rides and not have to worry about the horrible VR line.

Hi everyone, Just a quick question about Flash Pass. I plan on using it for the first time, and I was wondering how exactly it works. The website has a vague description, but I figured I may get a better answer if I ask those with experience. Is Platinum worth the extra $30? And do I have an unlimited number of reservations in a day? I know it says some rides do not offer "double rides", so does that mean I can only skip the line once in that day? We will also be using it at Six Flags America and Six Flags New England, so I'm assuming they all work the same? Thanks.

^Aside from losing four riders per train with the Millennium Flyers, I don't see capacity being affected much. To answer your question, yes, another train may be dispatched while one is on the track. But that train cannot disengage from the lift hill and go down the drop until the first train has cleared the first set of brakes on the final brake run. Essentially, it's set up like Silver Bullet, which runs two trains with ease. It's so great to hear it's running well. After growing up with this park and riding GhostRider countless times in its "bad days", I cannot wait to experience what it was like when it first opened. Props to Knott's, Cedar Fair, and GCI! I hope it stays this way for years to come.

Favorite Arrow Coaster

It's a toss-up between Magnum XL-200 and Viper (SFMM). Both are excellent, classic coasters. -
Basically, I am annoyed when people don't follow simple logic. Don't smoke in line, don't line jump, be respectful to others, and there shouldn't be any issues. I don't have a single problem with people playing games like Heads Up in line. Lines can be slow and painful sometimes, and it helps pass time (I'll even admit that I do it when lines are really bad). Just don't be extremely obnoxious about it where everyone else in line is staring at you.

Doesn't the park have the ability to adjust the fins so it can flip more or less often? I assume it is not something that could be changed throughout the day, but I'd be interested in seeing if that changes at all throughout the season. If I'm wrong, then hopefully I get a wildly unbalanced ride resulting in more flips when I visit. I'm not sure about that, but it could be possible. They would somehow have to adjust the fins on the trains themselves as the strips mounted on the track seem to be permanent. I may be wrong, though.

Hi everyone... I know these posts come up a lot, but I will be visiting SFA for the first time in late June on a Sunday and Monday. I was wondering if a Flash Pass is truly necessary? I know it's always the safe route to get one, but we will be spending about 1.5 days in the park and are trying to save money wherever and whenever possible. Do the lines, particularly for Superman, Joker's Jinx, Wild One, Batwing, and Apocalypse, get intolerably long during this time? Thanks for the help.

Hersheypark (HP) Discussion Thread
thrillseeker4552 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^Great report! I will likely be heading to Hersheypark this summer, so it's nice to read your opinions on the rides. Edit: Also, in what order should I hit the rides? Do some of the lines get insanely long quickly? How is the capacity on the 3 major Intamins? -
What is your next park?
thrillseeker4552 replied to onewheeled999's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
We are currently planning a major Northeast trip this summer, so if all goes well, my next parks will be Six Flags America, Hersheypark, Six Flags New England, and Six Flags Great Adventure... in that order. All new parks for me, I'm stoked! -
I went past today and I didn't see any train on the transfer so I'm assuming that it's finally back to two train ops. They just finished frankensteining two of the trains together and they finished fixing audio on both as well so I'm 99% sure it's two train ops now for the summer. I visited on May 22 (Sunday) and X2 was operating two trains.

If Knott's ever decides to add something, especially a coaster, I just hope it's high capacity. Knott's has a lot of low capacity attractions (Xcelerator, Boomerang, Pony Express, Coast Rider, etc.). And while a new coaster would be nice, I'm not opposed to the idea of a couple thrilling flats either.

I skipped Woodstock Express and Wilderness Run on both my 2012 and 2014 visit to Cedar Point. I count my coaster credits, but I'm not extreme in that I would go out of my way to ride kiddie coasters when I could be spending that time getting re-rides on Millennium Force or Maverick. If all goes well, I might travel to Six Flags Great Adventure this summer. To be honest, I will likely have no interest in riding the small family/kiddie coasters when I could instead use that time to ride El Toro or Nitro.

Dollywood Discussion Thread
thrillseeker4552 replied to crispy's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm jealous! How awesome. Looks like a great coaster and the perfect addition to Dollywood. I find it hilarious that this coaster was delayed so much, yet it will still likely open around the same time or even before most of the stuff at Six Flags. -
Flug der Damonen. It has more unique elements. Taco Bell or Del Taco?
