It's possible. The thing with RMCs is that the inversions flow so naturally and smoothly, I can't imagine feeling a significant difference on those without inversions versus those with. Either way, the Midwest is getting loaded with some RMCs; I really need to visit sometime! EDIT: Oops, you said Lightning Run, not Lightning Rod. My mistake.

Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

I personally love Cedar Fair's maps. I don't find them challenging to follow at all, and I love the exaggerated layouts of the roller coasters. My only complaint, however, would be inaccurate colors (like Coast Rider & Boomerang on the Knott's map), but that's a minor thing that the GP probably don't notice or care about. -

Coasterbill is most definitely joking, and it was executed beautifully. -

I completely agree! The twist on TTD makes the drop seem so much shorter. I'm totally down for a straight free fall drop. -
Maybe the "Worlds longest inverted roller coaster." Just doesn't have as much appeal to the GP as it has to coaster enthusiast. With that being said, I'd be curious to see how Cedar Points attendance changed during Gatekeepers first year. (I searched online but couldn't really find anything.) Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe GateKeeper's opening year in 2013 was Cedar Point's highest attendance (if not, it was EXTREMELY successful). It was the complete opposite situation of Banshee.

Favorite attraction never made?

^Agreed. I imagine that if this concept were to ever get built (which it won't), they would trim the heck out of that initial drop. The amount of speed, air resistance, friction, and g-force at the bottom of that drop would be astronomical. Regardless of the tech specs, it's a pretty neat concept to think about. Wasn't there supposed to be a 700-foot coaster (advertised as taller than the Seattle Space Needle) similar to Superman: EFK? I remember seeing Superman mentioned on some documentary and they mention a larger version to come soon. -
It will be crowded. Not horribly jam packed, but definitely crowded. Tatsu, X2, and Goliath could definitely sport 60-90 minute lines. TC could be around 45 minutes, and everything else 30 or less. Obviously nothing is guaranteed, but every single time I come to SFMM, it is more crowded than expected.

From what I've read, the head set will be very secure when riding. The issue is when teenagers deliberately take it off during the ride for whatever reason and drop it or throw it off. If the head seat were to be attached to the seat in front of you, it would solve that problem, but then that seat must be a "VR seat", leading to that assigned seat issue people were mentioning earlier.

This is definitely a possibility. It's just easier to complain about it since the park has consistently showed poor execution in the past. If all goes well, I will be attending the season pass-holder preview on the 26th. VR or not, I'm excited to finally ride Revolution like it was originally intended to run.

I really like that RMC makes minor (but better!) changes to the track layout when building (as compared to the concept video). It makes for some nice surprises to an already fantastic looking coaster. And nothing against them, but when Cedar Fair builds a B&M, the track work in real life is 99.99% like the concept art, so while it may be a great ride, the construction is far less interesting because it is extremely predictable.

Sunday, September 21, 1975 Hello all, The 1975 season was a success for Adventure Kingdom with our new expansion including a family railroad and two new eateries. With that being said, 1976 is shaping up to be a HUGE success as we continue to expand as a part of Phase One. Our revolutionary new attraction for 1976 will be declared next month. Here are some photos as the 1975 season comes to a close. Construction on this major ride is moving right along. Classic midway shot, as always The newly refurbished carousel as next to no line as summer slowly crawls away. Shooting Star has been having some issues with its brakes. It has been closed all weekend with all 3 trains off the tracks. Hopefully it will open up one more time before the season comes to an end in November. But Treetop Swings is soaring powerfully through the air. Now to the meat and potatoes of this update: dirt. Dirt is being moved around quite a bit. It appears to go back behind the trees as well. Wow! This ride will cover A LOT of ground. There is an area in the far back of the park almost as large as the one up front. This attraction, as promised, is revolutionary. I imagine that this view will change very dramatically, very soon. Stay tuned for the announcement next month.
