  1. I saw a few posts about that on Instagram. This is great news. I really hope it gets repainted back to orange and tan. IMO the blue columns do not fit the rest of the theme. I suspect 2017 will be Fiesta Village's year, as by then, every other area of the park has had a major renovation in some way.
  2. After watching the POV, this thing HAULS! If it runs anything close to this speed, that's awesome!
  3. Looks great! I love the little 7-car trains! Smallest of any B&M Hyper I believe.
  4. Even if Samurai is neutered, I still love it. It's better than any other flat we have here in SoCal, at least with the cycle it ran in June 2015.
  5. Thanks for the information and pictures! There is a very high chance I'll be visiting again this summer and will finally be able to ride Cannibal. I missed its opening by 6 days last summer! I'll definitely have to give the other rides a try too, especially Spider. Oh, and Samurai. The world needs more awesome top scans. I love this park. It's almost my "home away from home" since I have tons of family in Utah.
  6. I agree. I rode it once at Kings Island two summers ago and it was completely awful. Rode it once and didn't care for another ride at all. Which is weird, because I really like Viper at SFMM... The transitions on Vortex felt way worse.
  7. Will there be a Mac OSX model for this? I'm loving all these new coaster games but am a little bummed I can't get them yet. But I guess if I want gaming I should get a PC, right?
  8. Flight of Fear @ Kings Island EDIT: Darn, he beat me to it. Green Lantern: First Flight @ SFMM
  9. If the trains look anything like the ones in the concept video, I'm a happy camper.
  10. I believe this is correct. Even though Eurofighters are still getting built, I almost think of Inifinity Coasters as their "2nd generation" counterpart.
  11. What do you mean? He means rides where there is a single rider line. As a previous poster said, there are none at Knott's.
  12. Wicked Twister @ Cedar Point July 2014
  13. Wow, it had to have been at least 9 or 10 years ago... I was young. When was the last time you rode an Arrow coaster?
  14. Well, our temperature dropped from 92 to 72 in 4 hours, and after being ridiculously hot today, it's supposed to rain tomorrow, so... yeah. California.
  15. I would expect crowds to be mild. Some are on Spring Break, but most are back at school. You should have plenty of time to ride most major rides. Oh, and be warned. I saw on Instagram that Twisted Colossus was closed in the morning with some trains off the tracks. It may have opened up with two train operation later in the day according to the poster. There is a chance that all three could be operational by tomorrow, but don't be surprised if only two are running.
  16. According to a trip report (not from TPR) that I read on CGA's opening day, Gold Striker is still just as smooth as ever this season. Hopefully that is good news for GhostRider after at least 3 years of operation. And this upgrade is MUCH more than just magnetic brakes!
  17. Excellent trip report! Did Spider get repainted this season? When I visited last June (2015), I am 99.9% sure it was still the faded red and purple but I could have just not paid attention.
  18. RMC actually incorporates a ton of laterals into their designs. They all have them! Definitely. I've only been on Twisted Colossus, but it absolutely has a good mix of laterals.
  19. It is quite faded, but fortunately the colors used still look fine when faded. Much like Flight Deck at CGA when it was black, even when it faded it still looked "natural". Tatsu at SFMM is an example of the opposite, it badly badly needs a paint. I agree. Some colors don't look so bad faded (Xcelerator), but some most definitely do... (Tatsu)
  20. Looks fantastic! It's great to finally see a Gerstlauer Infinity in the states. And those colors...
  21. The two coasters and the whole surrounding area is truly stunning. I never thought there could be so much track in such small space ALONG some phenomenal theming.
  22. I'd love to see a conversion on Vortex next season. Hopefully they add a station roof while they're at it. I've never been to CGA, but I find it so odd that most of their major coasters (Demon, Vortex, Flight Deck) do not have a station roof. I can't imagine how that feels during the summer...
  23. I posted some of my thoughts in the Revolution VR thread, but I'll briefly reiterate what I said. Basically, virtual reality is the perfect example of "don't judge it until you try it yourself." I was super skeptical about the idea when it was first announced, but after riding The New Revolution a couple times last week, my opinion changed for the better. Six Flags cleans the headsets very thoroughly, and they do it right in front of guests so it is not a secret. Cleanliness should not be a problem at all. As for the experience itself, it took my by surprise. The video syncs perfectly with the ride, and it makes the coaster feel way more crazy than it actually is. I don't believe motion sickness should be an issue. If you would be able to ride the ride normally without the VR and not get sick, the VR should not make it any worse. Overall I think it is a great way to upgrade and re-market an old attraction. My only issue is the efficiency of operations. Granted, this has just been implemented, so I'm sure the employees and operators will become more comfortable with the process as time goes on, but at Revolution, dispatches were anywhere from 5 to 7 minutes each. Like I said, this could improve, but I don't see any ride with VR being a people eater. I have not ridden Dare Devil Dive, but with those 6-seat trains + VR, I can't imagine the capacity being all that great. So in the end, I really like the idea and think that, if operations are good, it should be a feature at most major amusement parks. People can sit at their computer desks with their virtual reality on simulators all they want, but it's very different when you are actually feeling the force on your body and wind in your face. Like I said, don't judge it until you ride it, because it could very well take you by surprise like it did for me.
  24. I may be biased, but I have always have and always will love Knott's log flume.
  25. As much as this hurts, I'm not exactly surprised they would say this...
