  1. I would love to see a full RMC makeover of Mean Streak (like Texas Giant), as well as a new awesome GCI woodie in Shoot the Rapids' spot at some point. Obviously in different years and spaced apart, but adding a good woodie and RMCing their mediocre one would really round out their collection. Plus, it would be nice to shy away from B&M after B&M after B&M.
  2. It's still only mid-July, so I'm not too surprised. At this time last year, we had zero clue that they were going to renovate Revolution. The only Six Flags parks we've really heard anything from are SFGAdv and SFOG, right?
  3. Yes. I used it on my vacation a couple weeks ago. Have you ridden every B&M Invert in the US?
  4. How long has V2 been closed? Normally a ride doesn't get listed as SBNO on RCDB unless there are some serious issues with it.
  5. Apocalypse at SFA is terrible. I'm not the biggest fan of stand-ups anyway, but this one is on a whole new level of suckiness. Goliath at SFNE and Vortex at KI are honorable mentions.
  6. What I've ridden... SFNE: Wicked Cyclone + Superman the Ride SFGAdv: El Toro + Nitro (honorable mention: Kingda Ka) Hersheypark: Skyrush + Storm Runner Kings Island: Banshee + Diamondback (honorable mention: Beast)
  7. Mind Eraser @ Six Flags New England
  8. Woah! Why are lines so short? When I visited around this time of the year, it was jammed. Looks like beautiful weather, too.
  9. Excellent trip report! I really need to make it out to Kentucky Kingdom (and Holiday World) one of these days. Both look like they have solid coaster lineups (like Storm Chaser isn't a reason in itself to go) and great water parks as well. Thanks for sharing!
  10. I agree with your point on GhostRider. Although I never rode it in its "golden days," I can see how it would feel tamer now. But like you said, being much smoother and less intense is probably best for KBF's demographic.
  11. I fail to see how this is a bad thing. So parks are taking advantage of the game and encouraging people to go outside, come to the parks, walk around and have fun in addition to riding coasters and stuff? I'm sorry but anyone who thinks this is not good for parks or for humanity is a complete moron. All I ask is that people play safe, follow the rules, and don't do stupid crap. But we didn't need Pokemon Go for this to be an issue.
  12. Just editing my previous list. Morgan - Steel Force (Dorney Park) S&S - Joker (SFGAdv)
  13. I went last summer and had a blast. It has a great atmosphere with some great (and classic) rides. I missed Cannibal's opening by a few days, so I would really like to get back up there soon and ride it. It looks like a great ride!
  14. I read about the Ultra Tower on Intamin's website, but I'm still having a hard time understanding what it is. It is just a motion simulator, but a drop tower? And how could you theme that to chocolate?
  15. How is the capacity on Thunderbird? With only 20 riders per train, is it still on-par with most other B&Ms?
  16. I freaked out for a second when I saw those pictures. I thought it happened again! Does Six Flags plan on replanting some of those trees, or will they play it safe and leave the area bare? One of my favorite parts about Ninja is swinging through the trees, but after riding it last May that feeling was lost.
  17. Nice catch; I didn't notice that. Like coasterkid124 said, it's probably a coaster to coaster basis. I always assumed EGF had the newer model trains (Goliath, Thunder Dolphin), but I love finding quirky things like this about coasters. Interesting stuff.
  18. Interesting. I've never been to Holiday Park, but I believe the coaster is like that because it was built in 2001. It was built after the first-generation hypers at SFNE, SFA, and DL (1999-2000), but before the second-generation ones like Goliath and Thunder Dolphin (2002-2003).
  19. Now THIS is how you test out VR. Excellent job, Cedar Point. Rather than throw it at 9 of your parks to break world records, you're testing out a little at a time on one coaster at one park in an organized manner and asking for guest feedback. Yes, yes, yes!
  20. The only stand-up coaster I can somewhat enjoy is Riddler's Revenge. Green Lantern is "tolerable" but still really bad, Mantis was even worse, and Apocalypse should use its fire theming effect to burn itself down. I have yet to ride either of the Vortexes or Georgia Scorcher.
  21. While the ride can be a little dull for us enthusiasts, I rather like everything else about Pony Express. It is themed well, perfectly placed with its surroundings, has a good color scheme, and provides unique seating/trains to the area. It's one of the better family rides in the park. And also, I REALLY hope Cedar Fair stays away from VR unless they can develop an extremely efficient system for the headsets.
  22. Maybe I rode in a bad seat, but Flashback was just as terrible as Goliath in my opinion. The Boomerang at Knott's is better since it got the chassis replacement, and the one at Hershey is just as rough, but at least the vest restraints make it tolerable. One of the Boomerangs, whether Flashback or Goliath, are bound to go at some point I think.
  23. Well, I'm glad I got my ride on Goliath. I rode in the front row and it still sucked a lot. I didn't particularly like it when it was at SFMM either. It's a sucky ride with sucky reliability. SFNE should just scrap both their Boomerangs and replace them with an awesome Premier launch coaster, honestly.
  24. There is water, but no where near as much of a splash as normal.
  25. That I've ridden... Cedar Fair: Millennium Force Six Flags: El Toro (there are several runner-ups here: Wicked Cyclone, Nitro, Twisted Colossus, X2, Kingda Ka, Superman the Ride, etc.) Disney: Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Universal: Revenge of the Mummy Seaworld: Manta (SWSD) Independent: Skyrush
