  1. Yeah I love the part how you can control it yourself. Too bad there's none of them in North America yet... S&S Double Shots are the same as the space shot towers right?
  2. I just did a google search for "X-Works". Couldn't find anything about who they are. I only know that they are the ones that ordered the yellow track. http://www.google.com/search?q=X-works&sourceid=ie7&rls=com.microsoft:en-US&ie=utf8&oe=utf8
  3. ^ That's why I don't like to give myself ANY slack on multi loopers and X is no exeption (although I've never ridden it). I get shaken like a human salad, mostly becase of my size and height too. Anyways back on topic, I think that Corkscrew at my local park is quite rough too. Especially all the neglect in maintainence it's getting. I don't think the park crew even bother lubricating the track anymore. I can't think of 1 time that I got off Corkscrew without hitting my head atleast once.
  4. I believe Gerstlauer and Mauer are also pushing limits too with the Eurofighter and the X-car layouts. The vertical lift hill and "beyond vertical drop" and the inverted lift hill on X-car coasters. B&M kinda broke tradition when they came up with the Dive Machine. As I don't think any other company attempted an 89 degree drop (Oblivion) before that. Other than that, I see B&M as being "too conservative" with what they build.
  5. I'm surprized B&M hasn't built a woodie yet, the closest they've gotten is building trains for a woodie. Perhaps they just like the feel of steel better? I don't think B&M wants to go above the 300 ft mark. They just are so careful when it comes to touching anything "beyond traditional" due to "reliability issues". Like when they built The Incredible Hulk, they asked another company to built the launch track.
  6. Looks like an interesting park, minus the dirty looking pool of course! Oooh vegetarian Mcdonalds, do they serve veggie burgers? (I'm a vegetarian myself and I only go to Mcdonalds for the fries and salads) Those "go karts" don't look too safe either...
  7. I'd go with CW's Flight Deck too. Rode it only once when I was 13-14ish, and it was a really bad experiance. Although my dad wants to try it this year when I go to Toronto (might make him ride it alone or with my cousin who suprizingly likes it). I don't even know if I am even going to touch Kong after that bad experiance few years ago with the "Kong clone" as I like to call it at CW. Judge Roy Scream at SFOT (Runs with PTC trains) beat me up abit. I ended up bruised afterwards...
  8. A Premier launched looper would be a good Hot Wheels coaster. Those Hot Wheel car launching things my little cousin plays with reminds me of Premier loopers more than anything else! I'm surprized there isn't a Hot Wheels coaster out there somewhere...
  9. I can't imagine riding an intense looper with so much forces so many times in a row! I'd be like playing "the blackout game" with myself!
  10. The Merry-Go-Round for being a classic. For thrill value, the super suspenseful and fear evoking INTAMIN DROP TOWER!
  11. Looks like a cross between a Flying Dutchman and X2. If it had a program that made the seats moving in and out in randomized order so each time you ride is different (out of a list of preset programs), it would not only be a 4 Dimentional coaster but a 5 Dimentional as the 5th dimention is possibility or something like that.
  12. Last year, 7 rides on Playland's Coaster in a row. Was near the end of the season when I went so linups were short and sweet.
  13. Could it perhaps be Vancouver Playland's new coaster for 2010? (as it's their 100th anniversary and my city is hosting the winter Olympics). Playland removed the 50 year old Wild Mouse deathtrap last year and I have a feeling its time for a new coaster.
  14. They should start their own airline! With a hair salon and video game room onboard. And don't forget a kids play area and virtual rollercoaster ride machines. Hmm I wonder what first class would be like...
  15. Can't really say as I'm a virgin to both... Design and innovation wise, Mauer. Gerstlauer hasn't really tried anything new since the innovation of the Eurofighter (well they made a launched version but its still a Eurofighter).
  16. Or OTFHR's! Aka Over the Forehead Restraints! That would eliminate headbanging too. Or Mr. Freeze at SFOT and SFStL.
  17. Yeah, I agree the colour scheme on SFOT's Mr Freeze is kinda odd. Bring back good ol' classic "cool blue"! I've never been on a Fabbri Evolution type ride before. What's it like? You lay on your back right?
  18. Yes, coasters despite being sophisticated pieces of heavy machinery still got their delicate little parts! Probably the strike must have affected some electrical circuits or sensors which need replacing. I guess KK is recovering from being "raped by lightnng!" Better remember your parachute and crash helmet! ~ Jess "Thunderstruck, oh wait I've used that one already too" Chan.
  19. Oh ok, I just checked Ebay and the ones I could find were of parks/rides that I've never been to/ridden. If I put all these random ones on of parks i've never been to, I'd be like a poser just trying to look 'cool'. It's like wearing a patch of a band you've never even heard one song from on your jacket just because "it look cool" and "everyone else's got one". Why don't we all "post our patch jackets" if we have one? I'm interested to see everyone else's.
  20. Perhaps they've already been "ironed on" and ripped off. The design is not damaged but it's no longer in original condition (as some people are picky about that). It's still usable, as a "sew on" instead.
  21. Just remembered some more! - Learning about parabolas in math class! They look like the TTD and KK tower. - My little cousin Playing with his Hot Wheels tracks. He's been obsessed with that thing for along time and that has led my aunt into taking him on a real upside down rollercoaster for the first time last year summer (he's 8) - Pulling a suitcase along a sidewalk. It sounds like a lift chain. - Winding up wind-up toys, they also sound like lift chains. - Chairlifts. They remind me of inverts.
  22. I was just at Playland yesterday and caught afew. Random lady: Can you really fall out of this (the Coaster) if you put your arms up? Me: No, it feels like it because it's called airtime. Random lady: Then I won't put my arms up! Me: Whatever you want then. Random kid: Dad, why don't people fall out of rollercoasters when they're upside down? Kid's Dad: There's something called centrifugal force at work when they're going in a circle. Me: CENTRIPETAL force and inertia actually. Centrifugal force is not real, it's only the effect. Kid: Thanks for that, nerd.... Kid's Dad: Woah, she know more than me.... (they walk away) Old guy: The Wild Mouse is gone? It was just there last time I came! Me: It's been dismantled unfortunately. The health inspectors have deemed it unsafe and it was constantly broken down. Old guy: Wow do you research rollercoasters or something? Me: Yes.
  23. Yeah all the parks I've been to don't sell them either. Which makes them a classic. I tried looking for some too... Maybe I"ll try Ebay. I'm kinda new to this coaster jacket thing, but is it really wrong or anything to have theme park patches mixed in with other patches like my country's flag, rock bands/music gear, and just random designs like animals and such? I already have a vest with patches on it (that i've basically worn to every concert I've seen) but no theme park ones yet.
  24. I think they do that at Canada's Wonderland too. The reason they ask you to check it yourself I think may have to do with lawsuits too. If an accident happens, they want to try and stay out of it so you don't say its their fault. I think it's to deter curious little kids from standing up midride. Also, nice shot of Disaster Transport's loading station. I've never seen a picture of the inside before!
  25. Of what I have ridden (which is only 27) 1. Titan 2. Behemoth 3. Coaster (Playland) 4. Mr Freeze (SFOT) 5. Batman: The Ride (SFOT) 6. Hanging Coaster/Sky Coaster (Dreamworld Bangkok) 7. Flight Deck (CW) 8. Corkscrew (Playland) 9. Vortex (CW) 10. Silver Streak Honerable mention: - Miner Mike (from some carnival amusement company) - my very first credit - Shockwave (SFOT) - First Schwartzkopf for me - La Vibora (SFOT) - First Intamin coaster for me
