  1. Nice pictures. You gotta love that tunnel to Judge Roy Scream! How did you like Titan? Titanically-intense as usual?
  2. Same here. But what really bugs me is when anyone over 15 screams like a crazy on a kiddie coaster. Unless of course they find kiddie coasters thrilling...
  3. I just heard about the Invertigo story on the news afew minutes ago. It must have really been a big thing because it made it onto Canadian television too. Good news is, if there's any coaster enthusiasts on there, they get the evac credit. Although being stuck up there in the heat sucks. ~ Jess "I'm still an evac credit virgin" Chan
  4. Also, is Psycho Mouse really that unreliable? Because it broke down TWICE when I went.
  5. Nice to see pictures of the water park too. I didn't play in the waterpark so I didn't get to see too much of it. I envy you for getting to ride Psycho Mouse, I lined up for it twice and didn't get to ride because it kept beaking! I was so disappointed! Also love that shot of Flight Deck's wheel cover art. It's one of my favourite wheel covers.
  6. It's likely a Fabbri then. Like Detonator at Thrope Park. Any clue what type of ride Viper is though?
  7. Well does the drop ride lift you up to the top slowly and then drops you right when it reaches the top without stopping? And does it have a sheet of metal over your head to stop you from looking up to see when you'll reach the top? If so, it's an ARM/Larson most likely.
  8. Is the airtme on Jack Rabbit comparable to say Giant Dipper, Phoenix or the Playland Coaster? Like "I feel like I'm going to get thrown out any second" airtime? I hate them too, personally I think they're unnecessary and slow down loading efficiency. And by the way those "Detailed shots on how the rides work" are called Nerd Shots.
  9. Looked like fun. Except that I'd never go on a Zipper my self of course. Spin out was really that painful? I've ridden the one at my local fair and it wasn't that bad. Was quite fun actually. What type of ride is Viper? I have never seen it before. Is that drop tower made by ARM/Larson? Or is it Fabbri?
  10. I envy you for getting to ride Big Bad Wolf before it gets taken down...I won't be travelling anymore this year after August. Love your pictures, especially that 2nd last one of angle of Griffon.
  11. Either the Playland Coaster's for its old school feel, or Batman or Runaway Mountain's at SFOT (both were abit claustrophobic for me though).
  12. Six Flags over Texas - Wild E. Coyote's Canyon Blaster (Not enough time) - Tony Hawk's Big Spin (Don't want to get dizzy) Cali Great America - Psycho Mouse (Kept breaking down) - Taxi Jam (Not enough time) Six Flags Discovery Kingdom - Roadrunner Express (forgot all about it) - Roar (Broken down) - Tony Hawk's Big Spin (Don't want to get dizzy) Adventuedome Didn't get to ride either of them, I was only 8 and hated roller coasters.
  13. Looks like you had fun! Too bad I wasn't working that day. Coaster is indeed an AWESOME ride. You gotta love that out of your seat airtime! That ride still freaks me out to this day! All the people from out of town I've taken to Playland and ridden Coaster with all say "I'm going to die I'm going to die!" I heard from the rides manager that in 2010 some new rides will come in. She said she's not allowed to tell me any of the plans though. It's PNE's 100th anniversary next year and it's also the year of the 2010 olympic games so I'm expecting something good.
  14. Volare trains? You gotta be kidding me. How can you find a Volare smooth?
  15. Wooden: Giant Dipper Steel: Medusa Worst wood: Grizzly (I got off with shaken child syndrome!) Worst steel: Guess it would be Kong although I didn't find it THAT bad
  16. V2 is a pretty fun ride indeed. I even rode it twice! It was Dad's idea though. When I went pretty much every ride was a walk on. Even Medusa. Speaking of which, I really like that unique Sea Serpant Roll inversion. Feels pretty neat when you go through it. I envy you for getting to ride Roar. It was down when I went and I was so disappointed. I keep my GCI virginity for some time to come.
  17. Steel: Either Giovanola hypers or B&M Inverts Wood: http://rcdb.com/ig320.htm?picture=3 Just plain classic woodie feel and goodness!
  18. That's right, energy level has alot to do with your G tolerance. Motion sickness medication affects your energy level making you more vulnerable to G-LOC (which is the technical term for the effects of too much acceleration on the body). I remember when I rode Titan I was so worn out from walking and standing around all day and the heat and all that. But few weeks ago when I rode Kong I experianced alittle bit of "blurry vision" and I was walking abit funny afterwards, but it went away after afew minutes of sitting in the shade and a cup of frozen lemonade. Best thing you can do for your G tolerance is to keep in good physical shape and stay healthy (I fail at that). That's why astronauts and pilots need to be very fit. Helps them take the force better.
  19. Another Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk fan here! Love the whole feel of that place, such a classic. And yet again, I shall mention my home park, Playland at the PNE.
  20. At Playland on Tuesday I managed to get some pictures of the construction area that appeared at the beginning of this month. I first noticed it riding the drop tower but I couldn't take a picture of it from there as I'm not allowed to take a camera on there. So I had to take a picture from the ferris wheel instead. The PNE is turning 100 next year and I heard that they are going to bring in some new rides. I'm hoping for a new coaster as one of them already got scapped last year. It just looks like some sort of warehouse right now but I am pretty sure it's a spot for a new 2010 ride. The rides operations manager told me that it's just a storage area right now but I highly doubt it's "just a storage area". He also said that there will be no new rides for 2009. Just a remodelled haunted house and a remodelled video arcade. What type of ride or coaster could perhaps fit in that spot anyways? Location of the construction spot. on the map (red rectangle). And that is an old map, the ferris wheel has been moved from that area. From the ground. Metal roof (perhaps built to hide what they're building from curious onlookers like me) I wonder what's inside...
  21. I guess I should be glad that I'm a Pinfari virgin. The only non loopers in my opinion that need them are non inverting Diving Machines like Oblivion (I think Oblivion is the only non inverting one) because you're entire upper body would lean foreward. Just wondering about this. How come when you're going down vertically without stopping like on Kingda Ka or TTD, you don't "lean foreward" or "fold in half" but when you're getting pulled up a vertical lift hill backwards like on Deja Vu or stopped on Sheikra/Oblivion's holding brake, your head wants to fall foreward.
  22. Playland's Corkscrew aka the "red roller coaster" sitting at the back of the park. The GP love it because it's "the only upside down roller coaster in the park" (park only has 3 anyways). Me, I've ridden it so many times and it's not even that exciting, not to mention it's geting rougher and rougher every year. Another reason the GP are so crazy about it is because (especially the older generation) they think it's the rollercoaster from World Expo 86. Corkscrew did NOT come from 86, it was relocated from Boblo Island.
  23. Is that what Space Mountain looks like inside? I feel really bad that I missed it! I didn't even know about it back then! Sky Coaster's trains actually look quite awesome. I bet the floorlessness (wait is that a word?) of it really makes it more thrilling. I"m surprized you said it sucked. Haha I love the toilet figures. Those made me laugh when I went.
  24. Last time I was in Thailand was like 5 or 6 years ago and I actually remember visiting Tiger Kingdom. Especially when I was so afraid to pet the tiger and missed out on a unique oppertunitiy! That's kinda sad about the beggers in Thailand. Kinda reminds me of that movie Slumdog Millionaire. The Snow Town attraction in Dream World is definately one you don't want to miss as it's basically the only time you'll ever see snow in Thailand. It's basically like a giant refridgerator room with man made snow inside and a sledding hill. It's also a good way to cool off if you've been outside in he heat toolong. Hanging Coaster (now known as Sky Coaster) at got some new trains (as well as a new paint job and name) after I left so I didn't get to try them out but they look pretty cool. Old trains: http://rcdb.com/ig1435.htm?picture=6 New trains: http://rcdb.com/ig1435.htm?picture=24
  25. Your captions literally made my day! Love your pictures too. Have fun at SFKK, hope Chang doesn't hurt your legs!
