  1. That sounds so fun. I used to be a NASCAR fan too but I don't follow it any more. I could only dream of doing what you did. How was the ride? I'm sure it doesn't count as a credit, but how did those forces feel? Feel anything like riding a really intense B&M?
  2. Chemistry and math tests done! Got my red belt in Tae Kwon Do. Thought I'd share this too:
  3. I just won an auction and a door prize at a dinner party last night. I won the auction for 2 tickets to the 2010 olympics figure skating finals at a $1200 bid. The door prize included a $100 travel gift certificate as well as a bag o' travel goodies. That gift certificate is going towards my Cedar Point/Kings Island trip next year! Yay! Feelin' like I'm in heaven
  4. Knowing it's Six Flags, I'm guessing they probably either keep the Serial Thriller name or go with another "cut and paste" name.
  5. And if I am not mistaken, it stops you facing downwards vertically like a Giant Inverted Boomerang. Because you're completely vertical, your entire upper body would be folded over. I think it's supposed to be themed more to airplanes than skateboarding.
  6. I was also thinking the same too. As for the original trains, I think they're being used as a part donor. I don't think Vekoma makes the old style train anymore, so if the trains are getting replaced, it's going to be the new ones. And just because the headbanging is eliminated doesn't mean it's not rough. I'm sure The Great Nor'easter is still rough and you get thrown around alot. It's that wheel assembly problem that they've got to fix.
  7. On any day no way would I ever prefer Kong and Canadian Flight Deck over B:TR. B:TR is way smoother and has alot more good views. The SLC's I find because of the compact nature make you feel like you're just going around in circles. As for the G's, they're both all pretty strong. They all made me really dizzy afterwards. One thing which B:TR does that I find quite neat is how the flatspins/corkscrews give you a good "whip" into the inversion even though it gives me a headache. Which SLC can do that? ~ Jess "I get airsick, seasick and I guess coastersick?" Chan
  8. So the "on ride photo" is more like those "cruise ship photos" I assume? Like those ones they try to sell you "2 for $22" on the ship?
  9. Ah, maybe that's why, I usually find the back is worse for rougher coasters.
  10. Maybe I found Grizz so bad because I think I was in the third row from the back of the train. Which row were you in?
  11. Dragon's Tail looks really cool, abit ghetto in a way though. Especially the trains and the braking. Dragon's Tail isn't listed RCDB for some reason. Nobody reported it yet?
  12. Looked like a great time. Is it just me or is the park always so uncrowded... How did you find Grizz? Rough? I hated it enough to give it number 1 on my "worst" list. Now I know what it feels like to get "shaken child syndrome". Love your Flight Deck photo. I have that exact same one but with a train photogenically going through the zero G roll.
  13. Or atleast go floorless... I wonder how much that will change the experiance. If I am correct, Intamin halfpipes are floorless too.
  14. I remembered there was a park that originally had plans to build one of these but it never worked out. Forgot which one it was but it's in the UK. So I assume it is not open yet? I just came across it on RCDB today. It says opened 2009 but the status is still "under construction".
  15. Are those trains on Giant Dipper "south" the same awesome Morgan trains used on Giant Dipper "north"?
  16. Yes, you got to love V2's hangtime goodness! You get more or less of it depending on where you sit. Even though RCDB doesn't list it as an "inversion". Anyways here's my updated list: - Any Vekoma Flying Dutchman - Any B&M dive machine - Any Eurofighter - Aftershock - Deja Vu - Fireball - Either Colossus or 10 Inversion Coaster - Furious Baco - Dragon Kahn - Tele2 Insane - Top Thrill Dragster - Millenium Force - Raptor - X2 - Kingda Ka - El Toro - Roar west (I was so disappointed it was broken when I went) - Goliath as in Titan's brother - Fahrenheit - Incredible Hulk - Dueling Dragons Ice and Fire - Chang - Kraken - Revenge of the Mummy - Phoenix (Knoebels) - Twister (Knoebels) - Fly the Great Nor'easter
  17. The S&S tower normally (as in not during Fair time) is not an upcharge attraction. During The Fair it runs a different (longer and better) program though. Normally it's shoot up, drop down, ride over. But during the fair it's shoot up, drop down, shoot up almost to the top, slowly lift all the way to the top, stop and enjoy the view, sudden drop, ride over. If you ever ride Coaster on the left side of the train, you get to squish the person next to you when you slide around on those crazy-ass turns! You definately got to love Coaster alright!
  18. That food at The Fair is really good. Although abit overpriced in my opinion, atleast I get a discount (because I'm staff). Can't wait to see the ride pictures as I love seeing TR's of my home park.
  19. Yes, they are ending their lease term. http://rcdb.com/4618.htm Here you can see their rides being put on sale (I hope Playland buys that Windstorm coaster from them as it would suck for it to be scrapped): http://www.italintl.com/Fun-Forest-Amusement-Park-Rides.php All the SDC Hurricane/Windstorm coasters feel about the same. Hurricane at SCBB is the exact same as this one.
  20. Ah Fun Forest, won't be there no more after October. So glad I got my 2 Fun Forest credits. You got to love Windstorm's "Dive of Death" and "Headchoppers of Doom"! As for Jet Spin, it's has not been operating for quite abit of time now. Orbiter is a pretty intense ride indeed although I'd still say Starship 2000/Gravitron you feel the G's ALOT stronger. I didn't ride that Orbiter but I rode the ones the carnies brought into The Fair at the PNE. Did you find Rainbow Chaser very ghetto, rough, rickety and unsafe? It made number 5 of my "worst" list for those reasons. I actually wouldn't be surprized if Rainbow Chaser de-railed or crashed or fell apart.
  21. Golaith basically gets everyone unless you're either a pilot or just really fit. Goliath's brother Titan even had to give me a trip to the first aid room. Anyways back on topic. I guess pretty much all Premier Launchers are just as forceful. Does anyone know whether Intamin LIMs or Premier LIMS are stronger? Except Backlot Stunt Coaster of course because it's marketed as more "family friendly".
  22. Only recently I started getting into artistic photography. I'm also taking photography in school this year and I hope to improve my skills through that. Anyways here's my work: http://commandernad.deviantart.com/gallery/
  23. It's not really THAT funny but I thought I'd mention it anyways. On The Bat at CW, while going up the first lift hill the guy on the mic said "Dropping you in 10....9....8...." like they do on Drop Tower. The only thing was that he dropped us at about when he got down to 4 or something. That really caught me off guard! Thought I'd bring up this one too. Those of you who went on the West Coast Trip probably know it. On Boomerang at SFDK, right after the "All clear, dispatch!" the lady on the mic said something like "We are going to take you 125 feet up into the air and drop you to go through 3 inversions before you go through it all again backwards!" I don't think anyone really paid attention to that except me that day.
  24. I wouldn't really care if it was Snoopy or Nick theming. I personally would prefer Nick but Snoopy's fine with me too. I wonder if they'll install a Snoopy themed coaster... A taller and faster coaster than Behemoth? Can I say Intamin giga? Or Intamin launcher?
  25. I remembered last year at my local park when our famous Coaster celebrated it's 50th anniversary of being at the park, they had a rollercoaster themed cake. Can't seem to find any pictures of it though but I remembered seeing it somewhere. All those cakes are looking very cool. Which reminds me...My 17th is comming up next month! I'm wondering if any of my local specialty cake stores (because I have food restrictions/allergies) will be able to make one... By the way DCody, love the dogs in the coaster train along with the happy rider!
