  1. Another thing to add, when I worked at Playland this summer I got to know the ride maintainence people which lead to me now owning a track bolt and train sign from the PNE Coaster (which is decorating my bedroom right now). Anyone else got coaster parts sitting around?
  2. In the case of Vekoma I think it's not just on the wheels. I think most Vekoma coasters also have a sign in the station as a "proof of brand". Printing pictures off RCDB, another one I'm guilty of. No wonder the colour printer at my house is always out of ink. You gotta love these "proof of brand" nerd shots!
  3. Atleast I'm not alone! On tests if I'm finished the test early I'll draw coaster trains going down the parabola graphs. My teacher loves marking stuff with my "artwork" on it. I do that with the slope graphs too when parabola graphs are not avaliable. I draw coaster trains going down the "hills".
  4. Another thing to mention, in math class when we're learning about parabola graphs, I've caught myself countless number of times drawing coaster trains going over them. For those of you who don't know what a parabola graph is, picture attached below: Look it's the TTD tower.
  5. Same can be said for the famous Playland Coaster. Ok maybe not THAT famous but anyways. Look at how wide open the trains are too. Sure, it scares the hell out of me every time I ride it, but that's why it's so exciting. And that is what rollercoasters are supposed to do; make you think that you're going be thrown off without actually letting you fall off. http://rcdb.com/320.htm?p=390 Insufficient? I don't think so. Anyone ever died on it? Not as far as I know.
  6. Oh speaking of school related...I guess I'll also throw in trying to start a "Coaster Enthusiast Club" at my school. Still trying to find a sponsor teacher for that right now.
  7. I guess it would be me writing down every coaster I rode at SFOT and telling people what I'm doing when I get asked. Or just walking around with my lanyard full of various coaster pins and telling people what it's about. I've also corrected a countless number of people on information about parks and coasters.
  8. http://www.addictinggames.com/rollercoasterrush.html I did a search and it doesn't look like anyone has posted it yet. I just found this game today and it's quite fun. Basically you try to play the brakeman (or brakewoman if you're female) and make the guests enjoy the ride.
  9. Some of you probably seen these already. Flight Deck's Zero G roll. Demon's loop.
  10. A TPR trip to this park would have had the BEST trip report. Mmmmm the rides at this park would have been great and just think what the prizes could have been with the games. The food... the uniforms for the staff, the 4D movies, etc. I hate when innovation is stifled like this. Hmm... I wonder if they have an "18+" admission policy. Oh nevermind, it's China I don't think they really regulate things like that. Anyways, Shanghai Disneyland sounds really cool. Hopefully it will be done by the next time I visit my family in Shanghai, which I don't know when yet.
  11. My final ride on the awesome Playland Coaster at the beginning of September ended my coaster season.
  12. Sounds like a great trip. Just curious, what did B&M have for display at their booth? That's it...I gotta get myself to one of those IAAPA shows someday.
  13. Great photos! Keep up with the nerd shots as those are one of my favourites. Too bad about the indoor coaster credit. Lesson for next time, check out the park's RCDB page first before you go!
  14. I think I could handle it, with a few bruises here and there. But then again, I'm one of those people who didn't find Texas Giant THAT bad... (I didn't ride in the back, I rode like 3rd or 4th row from the back)
  15. I don't think it's really a "kid oriented" family ride. "Intamin Family Coaster" probably is just the name of the coaster model. My guess is something between a kiddie and thrill coaster. Not too intense, not too slow.
  16. Or Mamut at Gardaland. I think they all share a similar style of theming.
  17. How was Tornado? Is it really as exciting as it looks? The brakeman must be a lucky guy on that coaster. Gets free rides all day long. Probably gets boring after awhile though.
  18. Well I originally wanted just "Behemoth" but I thought that's too boring. Then I thought I'd go with "Crazy Behemoth Lady" and then thought I might as well throw my name in.
  19. Well if it is, I guess it will be a spinner with a drop track in the dark then?
  20. I don't think it ever opened, atleast during the TPR China trip it didn't. I don't think the park itself is even open.
  21. I wonder when one of these will be comercially availiable, with electronics rather than relying on human power of course. I can see it happening as 3D movie DVDs are already availible for sale. 4D is just a step up. As for replicating weightlessness, the only way I can think of doing it is having the seat able to go up and down really fast. Sorta like an elevator if you get what I mean.
  22. Looking at all your pictures make me regret how much I missed out on my CGA trip... We were in a hurry that day to go to a family event right afterwards so yeah. Yeah, Drop Tower is pretty good and I love how there's like no lineups for it unlike the one at CW. Is CGA still as quiet and abandoned as I've seen it as?
  23. I'm turning 17 in about 2 weeks. And I've started getting councelling for claustrophobia. Hope it works out well and I get over it by the time I go to KI and CP in July.
  24. Yep, that's the centripetal force (notice I didn't call it centrifugal) of the turn alright. Anyways how much does it cost to do that? It seems quite worth it, if I could handle the G's that is.
