  1. Haha Mr Six going for a ride. First time I've ever seen that! Made me laugh!
  2. I'd go with the coaster's name too because I also think that seeing the park's name on every single train is just too repetitive. Both the major coasters at my local park doesn't have anything on the train front though...
  3. Terminator looks awesome. The effects and all that especially. Do you have an on ride photo from Terminator? Aww...Poor X2 needs a good cleaning (atleast that support does). Looks like it hasn't been cleaned for awhile. Do I see coastr neglect there? And yes, those deadly orange OTSRs do stand out horribly on Rev. Insurance companies sure know how to bastardize a good coaster into an instant death machine! ~ Jess "T1000" Chan
  4. I can't stand spinning rides well so I'm probably going to skip Fairly Odd Coaster if I pay a trip to Mall of America. Is Avatar more dizzying or Fairly Odd Coaster? I have never ridden a Eurofighter before (or any Gerst. as I said) and I hear they are incredible hangtime machines. Wish I could ride MM someday too but might be abit of trouble due to claustrophobia concerns... ~ Jess "The last airbender" Chan
  5. So I guess I have never experianced B&M rattle then. But I have experianced "B&M whip"! That's what I'm going to call that effect now.
  6. Aww you two look so cute together! Congratulations on the wedding and looks like a great day of fun at the park! If life/relationships is like a rollercoaster, ask for a B&M invert! And don't forget I support gay pride!
  7. Could the "acrobatic coaster" also be a Gerstlauer if not an Intamin ZacSpin?
  8. Nick Universe looks fun! Fairly Odd Coaster you get a slightly different experiance each time right? (I've never ridden any spinning coaster so I don't know) I've been wanting to try that Spongebob coaster for awhile! How's that hangtime though? Freaky? (I get freaked out by hangtime easily) Until then, I'm still a Gerstlauer virgin.
  9. I've only been on 2 B&M's so far, Batman: The Ride and Behemoth. Neither were rough. Batman though, every time it flips you upside down it "jerks" you. It's like a sudden. Don't know if that would be considered "B&M rattle" though.
  10. Wow a 500 ft rollercoaster? It's going to beat out Kingda Ka! So it will be the first terra-coaster right? And I wonder if the "coaster that does a lot of acrobatics but doesn't take a lot of land space up" is an Intamin ZacSpin. ~ Jess "Gives me another reason to go to Texas again in the future" Chan.
  11. Ah, Panda Express, one of my favorite places for "theme park food". I see you didn't ride Corkscrew. Not open? Or just didn't feel like it? And 6 rides on Ripcord? Thats alot!
  12. Well I only did it because I thought it would be funny that's all. Now I realize it isin't. I just thought I could pull it off because it was a Science Day and alot of kids were bringing their bags, calculators, notepads, and even those little acceleration measuring things on the ride. And I even noticed none of those things had strings or cords on them. As for spare change or any money, I would never take it onto a ride ever just in my hands. I always put it in a zippered pocket. Same goes for IDs and cellphones.
  13. Erm, that's because its Playland and they're used to stuff like that. They don't really care what you bring on the ride (they even allow bags) and I have never seen anyone told to take off their glasses. During Fright Nights alot of people wear costume masks too and they buy their on ride phtos too. I even asked the ride attendant whether I could wear the paper bag or not, he said its ok.
  14. Hmm, I'm not entirely sure about that one. When I was at SFOT I asked the ride attendant about laws on OTSRs for inverting rides. He says that he's never really heard of any such law in any state. Its just the parks' and the ride maker's discression and the insurance companies. If Nevada does have a law like that, we won't be seeing any Schwartzkopf coasters relocated there without abit of modification anytime soon!
  15. Ah, the Dizzy Dragons... Brings me back memories of when I was really little at my local fair. I always got put into a dragon with a bunch of "big kids" who kept spinning it so hard that I have actually thrown up afterwards. I've never seen a Ring of Fire train upclose before. Can you try to take an upclose picture of the inside and outside of the train? ~ Jess "Dizzy Dragons make me sick" Chan
  16. I worked (volunteered) for a kids daycamp/play group last year summer and have been babysitting for afew years now. Young children are such curious little creatures, they're not trying to be "bad" or anything. It's human nature. The need to explore. I've had to stop kids from climbing trees and fences before. Just shows how it takes more than a barricade to stop them. My most heartfelt condolences for the family...
  17. I've ridden several coasters with my sunglasses on and never had a problem. If I'm really worried I'll just take them off. Now I just reminded myself to get a strap for my sunglasses. I've worn hats, bandanas and paper bags (yes, paper bag) and they never flew away. Obviously I would never wear a hat or sunglasses or a paper bag on a 200 ft + megacoaster. A catchy (but slightly violent) way I like to think of it is "Retrieve a lost hat and you could go splat!" ~ Jess "The bag head" Chan Paper bag head 001.tif I'm under the paper bag. Yes they let me buy the picture andthe photo booth girl just giggled. And the bag did not fly off or anything.
  18. I am a NASCAR fan myself and I wouldn't care less if the ride was themed to anything else. It looks like a fun ride and that's all that counts. I would like to see the OTSRs gone though like Mr Freeze, Batman and Robin (R.I.P.), Poltergiest, Flight of Fear etc. I've always wondered why Speed: The Ride was never retrofitted.
  19. That would definately be floorless then! As you blow the floor off! Not...
  20. Could be, as it seems like it would fit space wise. First Zacspin in north america whohoo! (I wish) As for a B&M fitting, would something like a clone of Daemonen at Tivoli Gardns fit? And it's floorless too! http://rcdb.com/ig2504.htm?picture=13
  21. I would actually like to say the same thing for myself too. And not using the good ol' search featue....
  22. Yes, a wedding band is another name for a wedding ring. Shame El Condor didn't get the new train...
  23. So El Condor is still a death machine torture device, I see. I thought they were going to put new trains in like the ones on Great Nor'easter in New Jersey. I guess they never went through with it? Sorry, I'm not up to date with coaster news and updates outside North America.
  24. Haha I love all your captions! Is Revolution really one of the worst coasters out there as I hear it is? X2 looks fun! I can't wait to go to the park after Terminator opens!
  25. Our local "carnie" group has removed the zipper from their ride stock because it was deemed unsafe or something awhile ago. As for the floorless Kamikaze, I heard that you feel like you're going to slip off the seat when you get held upside down or somethng. I didn'tfeel that way in the Intamin Starship or Inverter as there's a floor below me Well the woman that fell from the Top Scan, she was really overweight (which probably prevented it from closing properly) and she had slid under the harness. I mean look at the way the forces work on a Top Scan. It's almost like an Arrow 4D coaster in some ways. She probaby didn't even have to wiggle her way out as the forces could have easily thrown her out.
