  1. A lazy river lifthill, how unconventional and unusual. The animal exhibits look neat too. That theming deserves an A+ in my opinion! Never seen themeing so well done before...
  2. Really? Scooby Doo's Ghoster Coaster at CW lacks all airtime! I'd say that's abit of an underrated coaster too because it's still a cute lil coaster for the younger kids. And Jr woodies are uncommon in canada. ~ Jess "A rare breed" Chan
  3. Mr Freeze, definately! I agree with you Mr Freeze is underrated. It's a very interesting experiance being launched backwards I think.
  4. I'm sure you'll love SFOT as much as I loved it. Make sure you save Titan for last cuz it gives you a major headache especially if you're tired lol. I just went back home to my aunt's house afterwards and fell asleep. If it's very crowded that day, make sure you get a flashpass. Make that a flashpass gold if you want. It's worth the $62.00 as it cuts down the wait time by 75%! Titan, Texas Giant, Runaway mountain, Batman, and Mr Freeze etc were pretty much like walk ons for me!
  5. Coaster at Playland. I love that thing! Vancouver's only wooden rollercoaster left standing. They just don't make them like that anymore. Most of the locals say things like this things too rickety, this thing's too rough, it's only 75 ft, its thing's unsafe, there's better coasters out there than that, blah blah blah. I mean sure, it doesn't have the most original name out there but man it's a massive airtime monster! There's like literally nothing holding you in if you ride single, you literally slide from side to side. ~ Jess "underrated not underridden" Chan
  6. Well hopefully the coaster doctor is in the house! Get well soon afterburn, my beloved B&M!
  7. Making me jealous lol. Nighthawk and Carolina Cobra are on my "to do list". Carolina Cobra is smooth? Like smoother than Flashback at SFOT? I love the lighting conditions shots too, very artistic! ~ Jess "smooth as butter, oh shoot I've used that one before" Chan
  8. Yeah I noticed it reading a trip review. Very appropriate for Vekoma rides indeed. I have an upper ear piercing myself and i have to be very careful when it comes to those rides. As for that line jumping sign, me and my cousins had a good laugh when we went to Canada's Wonderland. My uncle was pointing out "how could anyone climb over six people anyways? Unless they're like 10 feet tall" Or something along the lines of that.
  9. I don't think it's throwing up from the fog effects. I think it's more to do with asthma and the chemicals in the fog. I know because I have asthma and sometimes special effect fog makes it hard to breathe.
  10. Same that Behemoth and Titan had not much reference to mythology either. Except the on ride photo this year for Titan, it SORTA had alittle bit of a mythology theme to it. Behemoth had like no themeing at all really. And by the way, are safety videos even used for coasters anymore? I have never seen any. Is there any of them on Youtube or anything because I can't seem to find any. ~ Jess "Un-themed" Chan
  11. Corkscrew at my local park Playland. It's over 20 years old, it's overdue for track maintainence, its overdue for a paint job, it's nothing special really. It's just your standard "Corkscrew with bayerncurve" off the shelf model and I don't get why it's so popular around here with the Vancouver locals. Perhaps because it's like the ONLY looping coaster in vancouver?
  12. He had never ridden that ride before taht time so he didn't know about the crossing your legs or slouching down thing. He has long legs too.
  13. Uncle Will has ridden a TOGO standup with me before. Skyrider at CW. He said it was really hard on his legs. Well I think both Will and Steven will have problems with Grizzly and Roar. I remembered the time uncle Will tried to cram himself into a PTC train, I had to help him in and out!
  14. Yeah, thats why I think that neither of them would have a problem on Flight Deck (which I am very excited to ride myself). So most likely Kong and Invertigo cousin Steven won't be able to go on? I guess B&M inverts have designed teh train to hang far enough from the track that even someone with long arms can't reach it? The only one I'm kinda worried about for uncle Will would be Roar at SFDK and Grizzley at CGA. AS I hear those type of coasters are not too good for tall people. I can't really say as I'm quite short. ~ Jess "Do not reach for the sky" Chan
  15. I am going down to California in July and I plan on visiting those 2 theme parks that happen to be close to where I'm staying. Uncle Will and cousin Steven might come along with me to the parks and I'm wondering if there's any rides they can't ride or might have some problems with. I want to let them know ahead of time (to avoid embarassment). They have both never been to either of the parks. Uncle Will is about 6'4 and 220lbs. The only rides I've seen him try to cram himself into (but said was abit of a squeeze) are Backlot Stunt Track (Premier Launched) and Mighty Canadian Minebuster (PTC). Cousin Steven is about 6'7 and 275lbs. I think he might not be able to get on a lot of rides (don't know for sure though) because I know that he even has to sleep on a custom made bed. I know SLC's have a cutoff at 6'5 because of the footchoppers or something, so Steven would not be able to ride Kong. Not sure about B&M inverts or Vekoma Invertigos.
  16. How did you manage to get airtime on Conquistador? I heard alot of people on the ride saying it's airtimeless too. Perhaps they're running it with a less intense program when I rode it?
  17. Well think about B&M standups or Arrow 4D trains, the complex mechanisms! To lock the height and all that! If you think X2 is already plagued with enough technical problems, imagine all the other coasters being that unreliable. If you noticed on B&M standups when it gets locked too low and the person is literally standing with their knees bent. They have to open the entire row, and once the person fixes it, re lock the entire row and recheck the entire row. *cough* De-lay-Ja Vu *cough* I thought X2 had abit of headbanging at first. Dunno what solved it. Schwartzkopfs trains like the ones on Mindbender can be abit painful for some people over 6 feet I hear. Thank goodness I'm short! Six Flags does tend to go the "cheap" way for alot of things I've noticed...
  18. Vertically adjustable type like on B&M standups or X2 (arrow 4th dimension trains)? Yes, arrow mine trains have a 42' limit, As far as I remember. Yes, it's "assumed" that younger riders are more afraid of the big scary rides. Although this may not be the case as when I was at SFOT last week with our family friend, her 8 year old daughter rode alot of the what you'd say are "bigger" rides. ~ Jess "Is not rollercoaster scardy" Chan
  19. DId anyone ride El Conquistador or whatever it's called before? I'm so surprized it didn't didn't have much airtime despite I was sitting at the very end too. I was so dissapointed, especially for an Intamin ride. I was thinking maybe Acme Rock n Rocket would have morre as it turns you completely 360 degrees. Conquistador was the only flat ride I got to go on as I was really despirate to hit all the coasters but I missed 2 sadly.
  20. I WAS JUST DOWN AT SFOT last week on thursday! It was packed as hell, glad I got my flashpass! I wanted to go to SFFT as well as afew other parks in Texas too...but I didn't have the time. (I wanted to visit SFFT and SW too) Flashback is a surprizingly smooth coaster indeed. Glad you enjoyed SFOT, I did too. I think I even developed abit of a southern accent while I was down in Texas! Did you ride Conquistador or whatever it's called at SFOT? The Intamin pirate ship? It's almost airtimeless! I was so dissapointed, I even sat at the very end too! Texas giant isin't that good of a coaster IMO, it has not much airtime. Same said for Judge Roy Scream.
  21. Got a picture of that? I've never seen stuffed animals riding at my local park, it just doesn't happen around here perhaps? I couldn't find ANY photos on google of stuffed animals riding coasters. I really want to see what it looks like badly. ~ Jess "Let stuffed animals ride free" Chan
  22. Just the sound of that made me fall off my computer chair laughing! I nearly hit my head on the wall from that! A giant stuffed animal riding next to a person I can certainly picture that! Plus how abouts did they manage to get an OTSR over the giant dog's head? I'm assuming that the giant dog's head is bigger than an average human head. And probably a different shape too.
  23. The 2010 attraction is probably going to be a coaster according to here: http://rcdb.com/id4346.htm But then again, they could be wrong too. ~ Jess "So not an RCDB nerd" Chan
  24. My first with an actual vertical "loop" would be Skyrider at Canada's Wonderland when I was 13. I'll never forget the pain...
  25. So since SFMM is adding 2 new coasters in 2 years, they are going to surpass Cedar Point's record of the most rollercoasters in one park I'm guessing?
