  1. I'm not really a fan of the new colors as it doesn't seem to match the "theme" and name of the ride. A Nighthawk is a bird of prey, the colouring sorta reminds me of kiddie rides! Perhaps they should call it "Night Pigeon" or "Night Swallow" instead? Just an opinion from Jess "Bird brain" Chan
  2. So it basically lets you go to Coaster Enthusiast events without being in an actual club like ACE or the canadian one? ~ Jess "Will join a coaster club someday" Chan
  3. Lift chains can probably break because of the stress/tension that they're under. The B&M signature "pre drop" is used to relieve some of that tension in the chain. Just like how people can "break" from stress too! I'm not exactly sure how often lift chains get replaced either. But how come Behemoth doesn't have a pre drop? It's one of B&M's newer coasters. As for that video, isin't CENTRIPETAL force enough to keep people in through the loops? ~ Jess "Behemoth is number 1" Chan
  4. How was the "death machine"? Those things can be real "killers" indeed! That one is the Goudrix right? I've heard about it. ~Jess "anti-Vekoma for now" Chan
  5. Yes, please bring back Mr Six, he will save the company! Mr Six merchandise would be the best!
  6. 4 or 5 rides in a row? Lots of headbanging? ~ Jess "gets migranes from headbanging" Chan
  7. Oh ok, sorry I've never been to any of the disneyl parks so I'm sorta unfamilliar. A looping indiana jones ride, sounds cool. But maybe rough?
  8. Yeah, its because they were linked in a train that made me wonder whether they were really Maurer's are not. I noticed that most of the cars for spinners of various brands do have some resemblence to each other in a way. ~ Jess "Never ridden a spinning coaster" Chan
  9. Did you go on Indiana Jones too? Isin't the Indiana Jones ride in paris different from the ones in California and Florida?
  10. Is it true people still do this with Goliath (and maybe Titan)? They play the "blackout game" to see either how many laps you can take before you black out or with two people, who can "outride who". My cousin from California, his friend was doing that with Goliath. He like managed to get several laps before starting to have blackouts, my cousin begged him to stop after he was feeling disoriented and dizzy but he wouldn't. He actually passed out (I think after leaving the park) so he had to go to emergency. I know I'm not going to do that when I go ride Titan for sure! I'm glad to hear that Titan has been trimmed up and consecutive runs are not alllowed. ~ Jess "Will never play the blackout game" Chan
  11. Nice TR, doesn't seem like alot of what I'd consider "extreme rides" at those parks. Still, the kiddie coasters look kinda cute. That "bonus credit" is a Maurer spinner right? Or a knockoff copy?
  12. SFOT and maybe SFFT in March! SFDK and CGA in July! CW in August! Lots of credits for me this spring/summer.
  13. I'll make sure I ask to get stapld then on Titan and B:TR as well as afew others... I guess being stapled could help preventing even partial G-LOC as long as all the pressure is on the right places God I can't even take 4.5 G's without blacking out(flight deck at CW).
  14. So I guess I'll have more room in my suitcase knowing I won't have to pack a G-suit I'm sure my tolerance to positive G's is better now than 2 years ago. Plus someone told me getting stapled will actually make it better? Doesn't make too much sence. Anyone else heard of that?
  15. Are both the Giovanola hypers that bad? I'm riding one this march and I hope it would be a good experiance. (although I might have to pack a G-suit...NOT!) Why do they make the helixes so intense? Just wondering.
  16. If modern coasters get any more intense...I wonder if ride attendants will have to start issueing G-suits to guests when they first enter the park and they will have to return them upon leaving...
  17. Is it true that laughing or screaming can actually help prevent black outs? I just heard that from a friend, because its supposed to either get the adrenaline rushing or get oxygen to your head or something.
  18. A rollercoaster poem I wrote. Didn't really know where else to post it. The Rollercoaster Ride You enter with uncertainty Preparing for what lies ahead The ride of your life Awaits before you Going up the first hill Way up high above You can’t get out now No turning back What goes up… Of course comes down A long drop down Faster… faster… faster… only to go back up again! Twisting and turning Winding and whirling all over Disorienting… Confusing… No getting off now You’re out of control Taken over by The wild raging machine The movement stops The dragon sleeps again You’re freed from captivity Until next time that is It’s over already Yes, that was it Or was it? Is it time to ride again?
  19. It's happened to me before only once, and that was on Flight Deck at Canada's Wonderland. Only 4.5 G's but too much for me (atleast back then). Everything went dark for like 2 seconds and after that, the sunlight hurt my eyes! Its like when you wake up in the middle of the night and turn on the lights how it hurts your eyes. I was so freaked out when that happened (because I thought it was scary) but at the same time I kinda thought it was cool seeing how G force can affect you! I don't ahve any health condition that could cause that to happen, neither am I on any medications other than my daily vitamins and allergy medicine. Well it could've also be my fear of heights... I guess I'm never going to be an astronaut or an aerobatic pilot...
  20. Actually save the best for last! I'm thinking probably start off small with something like Mini Mine Train? Well I might even let my uncle decide, because he's taking me and he's been there many times.
  21. Probably something at SFOT when I go in March. Dunno which coaster I'm going to hit first. Suggestions?
  22. The people who went first got a gift bag, a souvenir hard hat, & some wooden thing. I just got a wooden coin because they ran out AWW thats too bad I was expecting squeaky rubber donkeys! JUST KIDDING! Still really cool to go to Enthusiast events...Me being from a nearlly "Coasterless" place...we don't have much big things like that and I'm not an ACE member either...
  23. To be scientifically correct, it's called a G-LOC. Gravity Induced Loss of Conciousness. It happens mostly to aerobatic pilots during high G maneuvers but it can happen to coaster enthusiasts like us too. It's happened to me before only once, and that was on Flight Deck at Canada's Wonderland. Only 4.5 G's but too much for me (atleast back then). All I remembered was everything went dark for like 2 seconds and after that, the sunlight hurt my eyes! Its like when you wake up in the middle of the night and turn on the lights how it hurts your eyes. I was so freaked out when that happened (because I thought it was scary) but at the same time I kinda thought it was cool seeing what G forces can do to you! I'm pretty sure it was the positive G's as I don't ahve any health condition that could cause that to happen, neither am I on any medications other than my daily vitamins and allergy medicine. Well it could've also be my fear of heights... I guess I'm never going to be an astronaut or an aerobatic pilot...
  24. Have you agree with you there, shame that CW is not my home park. It's a 5 hr plane ride away.
  25. Me being canadian born...I remembered the shock when I first saw an asian style toilet for my first time in Hong Kong! As I started going to trips to asia more, I got used to them. By the way, on that Intamin drop tower I was so shocked to see...NO BELTS! Especially after the Great America accident...
