SFDK Crowds
Crazy_Behemoth_Lady_Jess replied to SLY's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Well the headaches/dizzyness I had on Flight Deck 2 years ago could have been from the blacking out due to high G forces, but the headbanging doesn't help. I hear taller people don't get headbanged as much, is that true? I'm like 5'3 now and I think I was 5'1 when I rode Flight Deck. Is Boomerang smoother than Kong (despite them both being Vekomas). I might have to skip THBS because of motion sickness. It's not worth the credit if I have to get really really sick. -

I'm going to SFDK in July on the second week. Havne't decided what day we're going as its up to my aunt. Are the lineups going to be even worse at taht time? Will I even get to ride all the coasters atleast? And is Kong smoother than say, Flight Deck at Canada's wonderland? I might have to give it a miss because heavy headbanging can give me bad migranes. -
- Mr Freeze (hittin' SFOT in March) - Titan (hittin' SFOT in March) - Kingda Ka - El Toro - X2 - Firehawk - Nighthawk - Batwing - Spongebob Squarepants Rock Bottom Plunge - Led Zeppelin the ride (please don't get scrapped) - Raptor - Top Thrill Dragster - Millennium Force - Fly The Great Nor'Easter - Incredible Hulk - Dueling Dragons (both fire and ice) - CHANG!!! I'm named after it! (well last-named after it. actually I'm a Chan, but Chang is the same name, just a variation of it) My list goes on... Wood Dragon 1988, Playland is my home park, so I've ridden Coaster many times. It's a 50 year old woodie with some insane airtime. You feel like you're going to fly out or something when you go down the first two drops but you know you aren't going anywhwere. There's me on Coaster in the front car.

Ok I just asked him again. He says that its not just with cars. He says likely with the rides, they probably build them to the Europe standard unless the park requests it, then they'll build it bigger. Like the way B&M does the "Big Boy Seats". I guess I'm considered big according to Europe standards... As like I said even I find all the Vekomas I've been on a tight fit.

Well it's just something my dad told me about how sometimes things built in foreign countries are built to their standards. Its like how some bigger people find the Japanese cars too small and cramped because obviously they're built to the japanese standard.

Waterpark question
Crazy_Behemoth_Lady_Jess replied to Crazy_Behemoth_Lady_Jess's topic in Ask Alvey
Oh ok then, sorry my mistake. But I'm just wondering about that if I ever visit another park that has a waterpark attached to it. Plus I might even just wear a skirt that day I go to SFOT anyways because I usually like to wear skirts in warm weather. -
I'm visiting Six Flags Over Texas in March Spring break, so excited! I'm likely going to play at the waterpark (if the weather is good) before I head for the coasters. The thing is, I hate change rooms so I'll just dry off using my towel and just put a shirt and a beach skirt on top of my swimsuit (since I don't think I'm allowed to be running aroudn the park in a swimsuit ). I'm wondering if it's ok to go on coasters or other rides wearing a skirt especially with going upside down and all that. Sorry if this is abit of a weird question.

Well Nighthawk is made by Vekoma which is a European company. And European rides are built to European standards, and their people happen to be abit smaller than North Americans. Even me (a 5'3, 142lbs asian), I find all the Vekomas I've been on a tight fit. I think your best bet to avoid embarassment would be to go up the exit of the ride, politely ask an attendant if you can try the seats. They'll most likely let you, just explain to them why you need to try it. I heard sometimes if the vest won't connect. They may have to bang the buckle against side of the train (or whack it with a hammer) if it's deformed/bent (due to vandalism perhaps?). Just make sure that they let you out before doing that first... (sorry for the sadistic joke)

I did a TR on Canada's Wonderland awhile ago back in october. Look for it under my old posts. Behemoth is awesome. Lots of good airtime Even if you get stapled its still pretty intense. Skyrider isn't that painful actually. But that's probably because its the only standup I've ever been on. And I don't remember it ever "hurting my legs" the way people say B&M's do. Since Skyrider is japanese made, and japanese like to make things "smaller" typically, you might find it abit of a tight fit (heck, even I did when I rode it 2 yrs ago). Even if you're not that into kiddie rides, check out Silver Streak anyways. It's a Vekoma family suspended(inverted), basically an inverted coaster for kids. Quite a unique experiance I'd say. Exact same layout as the Rugrats Runaway Reptar coasters, just without the Rugrats theming. Top gun/Flightdeck is a rough ol' Vekoma SLC. A fair amout of headbanging but good inversions nonetheless. 4.5 G's, so watch the momentary blackouts. I've had it happen to me and I kinda freaked out but I thought it was also pretty cool at the same time experiancing a G-LOC. well I was about 14 back then anyways.

Woah I can't believe that either. Is there less headbanging on X also?

Got pictures of those pieces? I wanna see lol -
I noticed in the scenarios Go with THe FLow its like almost ALWAYS raining. I already passed the apprentice level and I can't get pass the second one. Since its raining so often, my peeps dont wanna take any rides. Despite I even build information booths so they can buy 'brolly's and such. Still, I"m losing money. What should i do? And its such a huge park with so litlte rides (since I can't afford more)...

That would definately be my plan! -
I'll be going to Texas in march break really likely to visit my aunt and such. She likes some coasters, and she also knows the way down to Arlington from Dallas. As for Six Flags Over Texas, I want to do as many coasters and rides as I can. I'll give kiddie rides a miss (but I'll do kiddie coasters for the credit haha and I love kiddie coasters too). I want to know what would be a good time and the lineups won't be as bad. And what should i line up for first and such... Thanks.

Q1) Are you Male/Female? Female Q2) How old are you? Sweet 16 Q3) When you go to a theme park, do you prefer riding wooden roller coasters, or steel roller coasters? Wooden for the good ol' woodie feel and steel for the more extreme element.s Q4) Of all the different roller coaster trains, which do you prefer and why? Seated, standing, inversion etc… Sitting down, because standing is hard on the legs. Q5) What’s your most favourite ride? BEHEMOTH! Look at my name! Q6) When your on a roller coaster what do you think is the most THRILLING part of the ride? (Gives you the biggest buzz/rush?) The first drop of doom! Q7) What do you think is the most SCARY part of the ride? (Makes you think twice about it?) Going up lift hills...The anticipation. Q8) Do you think roller coasters are LESS scary and thrilling after you’ve ridden them once before? No, I've never really been scared of them. But yeah when you go on a new one you get off you probably want to do it again. Q9) Do you like the idea of an extreme roller coaster? (Think roller coasters crossed with extreme sports) Yes indeed! Q10) Themeing… Is the theme important in the overall ride anticipation and ride satisfaction? Themeing can contribute to quite abit. Q11) Queuing… Do you like to see the ride whilst in the queue? Or do you prefer the sense of not knowing what is going to happen? It doesn't really matter to me. Q12) Because of the direct proportionality between rides and queue length, do you prefer short ride/short queue, or long ride/long queue? Well I prefer long ride long queue if its worht it but lineups piss me off anyways.I can sometimes lose my temper in lineups. Q13) Is there anything you would like to see improved/changed with roller coasters? Yes,Like someone mensioned about simple buzz bars and all that. Comming soon to an amusement park near you! The modern roller coaster! Complete with extra painful stapling! Ride now and we'll include free ride ops that staple the hell out of you and assign your seat for you!

Me and my cousins in Toronto in line for Behemoth. Second youngest cousin: Will I pass out from the intensity of this ride? Me: No... Second youngest cousin: Will i fall out then because I'm too skinny? Me: Well I don't think so, because look, theres like 10 year olds just got off the ride and they're quite skinny. (my cousin is 14)
