  1. Not duct tape, looks like aluminum to me. I see a lot of that stuff in construction.
  2. It isn't an indicator of high blood pressure. I frequent the doctor and am very healthy and in certain spots of inverted coasters I experience the same feeling. It is only on the most forceful spots though.
  3. Gotta love opinions. El Toro > Mean Streak and Blue Streak easily Nitro > Magnum But other than that...In my opinion Millennium > Nitro Raptor > Batman TTD > KK Maverick > All But I agree SFGADV is probably the best SF park.
  4. I am glad my parents had me in swimming lessons since I was in diapers for a number of years. Really helped.
  5. I have actually seen this on a number of coasters There was a whole episode on some TV channel about it quite a while ago. A whole train of people got married on Mantis @ CP (pre-trims) on that day.
  6. Sadly my last was Gwazi @ Busch Gardens Africa and ya it still sucks. It has potential if it was smooth, but and was ok when I rode it like 3-4 years ago. Was gonna hit Sheikra again, but was hot and had a mini-marathon that morning on it because of no lines.
  7. I just got back from my flight from Orlando I went to the Magic Kingdom on July 4th and there were over 90,000 people there. So nuts I also went to Epcot. A lot of people like WDW but I am not one of them, all 4 parks are just boring IMO you can only ride those flat rides so many times before they drive you crazy. I also went to Old Town and Funspot yesterday. Kind of cool I guess. I rode the G-force Dragsters which went 0-110 mph in 2 seconds but that was a big let down and a waste of $30 I also rode some go karts which they are VERY strict about bumping. Finally I tried out the haunted house in old town which was ok, but not scary.
  8. LOL! As for your trip on El Toro I can attest to outside forces ruining a ride. The first time I rode Nemesis at Alton Towers I was sick and the ride op also squished me in the restraint(I have big shoulders) The ride was not enjoyable at all. But my 2nd time on it I loved it.
  9. 1. Maverick 2. Superman Ride of Steel @ SFNE 3. Nemesis @ Alton Towers 4. Millennium Force 5. Floorless Sheikra 6. The Voyage 7. Ice Dragon 8. Montu 9. Medusa @ SFGadv 10. Top Thrill Dragster
  10. Ok, so I'm a dork.....I should have known GCII trains, MF trains correct?...duh...lol....Are the restraints that different from the PTC ones? I haven't been on o MF train yet but the PTC ones I have plenty of room..... In my experience, yes the Millennium Flyer trains are much tighter than PTCs. I don't know why that is, but when I was at my heaviest (around 300) I could barely fit on a flyer and could easily fit on a PTC. But now I don't have to worry about it anymore thank the Lord. Very true IMO. The Intamin's seem to be very tight in the thigh area more than the stomach itself. If you lose weight then you'll lose in your gut mostly, but I found it really harder because I have bigger legs than an average guy. But I still fit. I'm about a 38 inch waist to give you an idea, with bigger than normal legs. American rides overall seem to be more strict than say Europe which seems to be a bit more relaxed. Maybe because Americans love to sue?
  11. I hate spinning coasters, I rode this one twice and I just about puked
  12. I feel the trims really didn't effect the ride at ALL And it would have almost nothing to do with the banking over the water, but in fact the stengel dives and such.
  13. Even 7 yr old kids should know better, but what was that guy doing in the lake? This death seems like a different occurrence though.
  14. Amazing Nice camera work I still disagree on Maverick though
  15. Loved your report, and cool pictures But I have a completely opposite point of view it seems My opinion on the coasters: Maverick - Awesome, my #1 steel Millennium Force - Great, not overrated, my #4 steel. It doesn't have insane airtime but that isn't what makes it great. Top Thrill Dragster - Fun and fast, very re-ridable Raptor - Great, forceful although I prefer fewer forces it is still a cool ride Wicked Twister - Fun, especially in the back Mantis - Minor head banging for me, but fun and nowhere near the horridness people claim IMO Magnum XL - Still great airtime, and despite what people claim I didn't find it rough at all Blue Streak - Kind of rough, but the front provides a good ride (not more airtime than MF by any means) Mean Streak - Ugh, who cares Gemini - Showing its age some, but fun and when timed correctly and has some re-ride ability Wildcat - Fun, underrated ride, seems much faster on the ride than it looks. Iron Dragon - Not fast, doesn't swing a lot, but it is fun, and very popular with the younger crowd. Disaster Transport - Very underrated. The theming in the que is dumb, but the ride is fun and would be really cool with pitch black. Cedar Creek Mine Ride - Not the greatest mine coaster, but fun and kids like it a lot. Corkscrew - It looks cool going over the midway, and as far as rough coasters, its head banging wasn't THAT bad Woodstock Express - Eh, good kiddie coaster Jr. Gemini - hehe Other: Power Tower - I love launch/drop towers although it seems to be the cool thing to do as a TPR member is hate S&S towers. Fun and re-ride able.
  16. It isn't like that when they are running it efficiently, usually only 2 are in the station and 1 or 2 in the break run. There are usually 6 trains running so there is only so much space on the track they can use. As for the person who asked about running straight to Maverick...if you are GP the day after memorial day, the wait was 30 minutes first thing but the ride broke down for about 20 minutes so it was longer than posted at the que.
  17. I think he means the Absolutely Amazing song I don't know where you can get it but you can hear it on youtube.
  18. Give what a rest, it is just a common thing here that anytime people seem to like Cedar Point's rides they are automatically a fanboy, as portrayed by your post I quoted where it popped up every few sentences. I didn't have an ounce of pain on Maverick, and maybe that is because of a muscular build. I felt it deserved #1 because its mix of air time, speed, and inversions. I have no problem with you not feeling the same, just when people forget we are discussing a very pointless topic (ranking roller coasters is very dumb IMO...but yes I still do it) and move away from opinions and state experiences as if they are fact.
  19. Really? I think it is more of the people who think it was "meh, OK" just are not saying anything for fear that fanboys will criticize them. You know it is ok to not like a ride because it could have been better. After riding almost 500 coasters in my life I am allowed to say I do not like a ride because it should have been better. Also like I have stated before most of the people I talked to were very hesitant before giving a response on what they thought of the ride. Most were like "It was OK, but I won't be running back to get in line for it." So once again, I am just one of the few that are actively speaking out against all of the fanboy craze and saying that the ride is not the "bomb" or the "sh!t" it is just another ride that could have been engineered better and been a whole lot better than what it is in its current state. Ya you are right Cedar Point is such a bad park and Maverick is horrible, only huge fanboys could like that ride. I know TPR is full of people who love to hate Cedar Point and everything they do, but give it a rest. My first trip ever to CP was Memorial day weekend and Maverick is my new #1 steel with #2 being S:ROS at SFNE and #3 being Nemesis.
