  1. I don't think the caboose is it. I was pretty sure I read on one of the blogs there is at least another surprise. (unless it was Mav. being delayed )
  2. Nice! Your TR made me even more excited for my CP trip this year (if that is even possible).
  3. I agree, if it is decent and they can get the rest of the park up and running it would ALMOST be worth $25
  4. Even with high ticket prices if you ride a handful of roller coasters the park has already lost money on you. They need high drink/food/souvenir prices. (although it is stupidly high)
  5. Wow nice, 3 hours. Can't wait to go the week after memorial day even though Maverick probably won't be open yet it was either Maverick or floorless Sheikra. Nice TR
  6. Well we decided to take a mother's day trip to the newly opened Wild West World in Valley Center, KS just outside of Wichita. I suggested we go to Worlds of Fun, but we decided to go to Wild West World for a new experience. I wasn't expecting much to begin with, but it turns out even with 0 expectations I was still let down. Here is a mini review of the park. $25 seemed like a somewhat reasonable price if you compare it to a carnival in which you pay per ride. Once we got into the park it was clearly still under construction. It in my opinion needed a lot of landscape work and as you will see the rides could use some as well. As far as park cleanliness goes, the paths were clean other than the dirt that just blows in the wind (which I suppose is somewhat accurate to the old west) Their vending machines have tons of gigantic bugs in the drink dispenser, and while I am your typical guy and that really didn't bother me I know a lot of people would have freaked out if they could see it. I had mixed emotions about the rides. Had all the rides they had in the park been operating then perhaps one could justify the entrance fee, but this was not the case. The sign on the ticket booth said 2 rides would not be operating, and one of which on the list actually was running the entire day. It turned out that 5 rides were not running. If this was a large park perhaps it wouldn't be a big deal but that is practically half of their attractions. The staff seemed under-trained and very young. I understand high school kids work for cheap but to me they could have spent a little longer training the kids and teaching them how to better operate the rides. When you cannot possible stay for 3 hours unless you ride each open ride 10+ times I consider that $25/person to be a big waste of money. Okay after that worthless rant lets go onto the pictures. I do not have a lot because my camera's battery died at the park, but you will get the basic idea from what I do have. We will go backwards Maverick!!!! The bull bumper car. These bumper cars were so unbelievably crowed you could barely move. Wild mouse coaster, which I think was supposed to spin as well. As you can see it wasn't running with a guy on the track. rock meets western? I didn't ride this I think this was supposed to swing, but this ride wasn't built yet either. The ferris wheel was open! - but it had the longest line in the park I got nothing El Diablo, it flipped you in many directions and the shoulder restraints caused a lot of pain. Ya this is another swingy ride, looked more Mexican than Western (which is a trend) A swing, they said this ride was closed but it wasn't. Across the pond in the middle of the park, you see the train testing and the up and drop log ride, half of which wasn't even built yet. A clock, the park opened at 1:00pm The main "midway" before the park opens
  7. It isn't his fault Six Flags ruined the park before CF bought it.(financially speaking)
  8. I went to Wild West World today, and Wichita could definitely use something worth while, because that trip made me depressed. I might post a mini-Photo TR later
  9. There are other places this can be discussed than to ask people to vote if they think KK is the best coaster. Most people agree it isn't even the best accelerator. There are so many reasons this doesn't deserve it's own thread.
  10. In the back car of Titan, yes. It wasn't horrible but it was night and day different from the front half which was very smooth.
  11. No it isn't the best, close thread.
  12. Up until now, Excalibur was the best coaster in Valleyfair. Not anymore. Renegade is AWESOME. Working on an Photo TR of Opening Day. Paul Def. a matter of opinion and I would have to strongly disagree. Wild Thing & Steel Venom are definitely better, maybe even High Roller. To each his own though.
  13. Ok I misunderstood, I thought you meant the LSMs would work w/o power.
  14. The LSMs on the lift only propel the train in one direction, they actually act as brakes if the train were to roll backwards, and since they're magnetic they'll work in the event of a power failure. Pretty sure they don't work without electricity.
  15. You can't see it from the main midway I am pretty sure. Maverick is in the back of the park relative to the entrance
  16. Never been to any of the parks, but based on what I have seen in pics/movies I would vote SFGAdv simply because i enjoy coasters much more than anything else
  17. I love DW why do you keep go searching for old threads to bump?
  18. Sarcasm I assume??? But I agree it is a pretty average coaster.
  19. I died and went to heaven on a few B&Ms
  20. I wonder what will be in place of the heartline roll if they do actually put something else there? a loop
  21. Hmm I planned to go in late May but thankfully I am lazy and have yet to schedule anything. Hopefully this gets open early June so I can just delay my trip a couple weeks.
  22. ^^ Same here, can't wait to go to this park.
  23. "another big ride or family attraction or something at Cedar Point" What the hell does that mean! LOL. What I took out of it is Cedar Point is going to build a 800 foot tall dive machine.
  24. WOW, Glacier Point looks so amazing, that is the only place in your TR i have yet to be, and now really want to visit it someday.
