Worst Coaster Ever?
hemmy replied to Mind Eraser's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think some of you are missing the point of this thread. Listing Magnum XL and Incredible Hulk as your worst coasters ever? Dang, you guys must have really high standards. -
Heh, my 9 year old sister rode her first looper which was Kumba at Busch Gardens, during my Florida trip a few weeks back. I could tell she was terrified but she shrugged it off. After the ride though she re-rode and enjoyed Montu as well, but no Sheikra.

Just do it, that is all I can say. Loops are probably the smoothest inversion, my personal favorite being zero-g rolls.

Canada's Wonderland helmet problems

God I hate the justice system. Yes this isn't in the United States but apparently Canada is crazy just like us. I was just reading about some guy who mooned a family with a 14 yr old boy and now he could face 15 YEARS in prison and have to register as a sex offender. -

TR: Cedar Point and Kalahari 7/26-7/27

I agree, when Cedar Point first announced it and uploaded the animated POV on their website it looked fun, but nothing special. But it didn't do the ride justice at all, easily my #1 steel. -
Six Flags Great America and Cedar Point-

That is strange you got head banging on Raptor other than the rough break run after the final helix. But Raptor and Patriot are very different, mainly because Raptor is so much more intense, especially the cobra roll. Can't decide which I like better though, because I get headaches easy from intense rides due to inheriting a weak sinus, so they are pretty equal in my book. -

Strange about the dirty paths, because I seemed to think they were very clean. But you are right about the bathrooms. They renovated a few but most of them are bad. I think their weather/ride shut down policy is a little excessive as well, except on Top Thrill Dragster and Millennium Force. Still easily my favorite park though. -
MSNBC Article - Six jeers for Six Flags

Well seeing as how the author said all their garbage cans were overflowing maybe they were too heavy to move? 1 reason I love Cedar Fair is its abundance of trash cans. Even at Disney I come by my fair share of full bins. -

Disney: Most overrated park chain ever. I would rather go to many Six Flags parks over a Disney park. -
When I went in late May they were on, but really the ride pulls a lot of g's anyway.

They didn't have them on in May when I went but I'll get over it -
I was at the Magic Kingdom on the 4th of July and by 10:30 space mountain only had a 20 minute wait

I went once but had no plans to visit again until massive improvements were made. I would love to have supported them but $25 for a handful of carnival rides is ridiculous. -
Cedar Point 7-18-07
hemmy replied to TopThrill182's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yes plenty of ejector First drop and first hill are big ejector air the 2 corkscrew/zero-g mix inversions really is a zero-g feeling. The last hill after the Stengel dive has a good mix of floater/ejector. -
Who doesn't love a good CP photo tr? But your pictures are a little small. (I know they are thumbs) I agree stand up coasters is such a dumb gimmick that adds nothing to the ride experience. I like the fact that MF, TTD, Maverick over shadow other rides. Magnum and Raptor are great rides that often have much shorter lines. And yes, there is no escaping the water on their rapids ride, both times I rode it I was absolutely drenched, wettest ride I have ridden (I hit EVERY single water fall) HOLY Crap, if there was a collection of coaster porn, that last Magnum shot would be in it.

I visited on a perfect day 2 years ago, walk-on for every ride. Or at least <5 minute wait. Missed the Stealth credit though -

I personally think it is the best ride at IOA. A great beginning, and the rest is just your basic B&M. -

Wild West World Worlds of Fun Cedar Point Soak City(does this count?) Magic Kingdom Epcot Seaworld Islands of Adventure Universal Studios Busch Gardens Tampa Funspot Old Town In that order I think Visited each park once except Cedar Point twice. -
Yes you can pick your seats, and once you are in the station it really isn't all that long as they don't provide a lot of space for people to stand.

Teen Girl Dies in Wisconsin on Bungee-Type Ride

Not like a ride op can check your coaster restraint any better than you can. But ya it is their job, just saying. -

I am not surprised at all. As a matter of fact I am surprised there aren't more skycoaster deaths! Any skycoaster related rides are all death traps! You can see the tiny cable that holds them on there! Another cable related accident, but this one caused a death I've never liked skycoasters and this has compounded my views on them, now I hate them even more. Not sure what you are reading but the cable didn't break she flew out of her harness. -
That's an interesting statistic. I'm a journalist and always on the look out for an interesting story. Where did you find the evidence that supports that statistic. Until more information is released we shouldn't speculate that it was his fault. We do not know the full circumstances. Did he fall from the car, did he fall off the track while working on it, was an appropriate harness supplied if required etc. I'm sure we'll know more soon. Hopefully he pulls through and gets better soon. And our thoughts should be with him and the family at this difficult time. 75% of statistics are made up on the spot. Just like this one.
