  1. Did you know the Whizzer was not torn down due to the fatal accident, while it was a factor in the closing of the ride the stress fractures found during the investigation are the real factor behind it's demise Did you also know the opening year of Invertigo was plagued with rollbacks due to a reported virus in the rides operating system
  2. Did you know that at MGA/PGA/CGA (whatever you want to call it) in the area where the Whizzer once stood is haunted by a ghost of a little boy believed to be the boy killed in the accident that led to the demise of the coaster. The lower areas of the Log Run have also been reported as haunted by a small boy thought to be the boy involved in the accident on that ride as well.
  3. The drop on Grizzly appears to have been retracked
  4. Yes especially since they can build in excess of 200 feet in that particular area of the park. Intamin anyone?
  5. It's bad and I hope it is just the project name "Santa Clara Stampede"
  6. Is the Tidal Wave boarding station still sitting back there one of the pictures makes it look that way but i'm not sure
  7. Wow I was under the impression that the whole reason they were renaming it Drop Tower was so they would be able to retain the massive neon sign. What would be so wrong just naming it simply Drop? As far as Top Gun goes, since the theming had deteriorated and was looking pretty crappy I was hoping they would just remove it all and give the coaster a Cedar Fair name like Raptor Thunderhawk or Talon. There are so many much better sounding names that could have been used while keeping the theme, even generic model names of fighters sound better such as Tomcat, Vampire, Sabre, Venom, Crusader, Voodoo, Phantom, Falcon, Hornet . . . Or even Stealth would have worked and since I am sure the old sign is still in the park somewhere the money used for the Flight Deck sign could have been used for much needed park improvements. One can only hope that that incredible looking GCI going in next year doesn't end up with the name I have been hearing.
  8. I find the other end to be better due to the fact that it slamms into the loop on the return trip
  9. It depends if it is a portable model or not, I'm sure the platform boarding area fountains etc have already been completed and its just a matter of setting the ride up at this point. But im sure portable or not it is something that could go up in a single day with a good crew
  10. Dude seriously you rock, are those from last season?
  11. it would be very interesting to get some pictures from skytower from the same angles and have a now and then set of images
  12. No way. The 1920s had "Loop the Loop" and "Flip-flap railway", both of which were wood. not 1920's they were both 1900's Steath did not have a duel boarding station also I am unsure about this one but were the MGA Demon twins the first multi element coasters?
  13. my guess is that they may have confused the concepts of a floorless with an inverted
  14. i have all of the standard books videos and items sold at parks like shirts and shot glasses. 15. Well SFMW could use something with a bit of force, they should rip out what seems to be the slowest SLC ever and replace it with the SFNO Batman, It would give them some draw over PGA as well
  16. well yeah it wasn't only the pictures even the stats listed said 415ft, 100 MPH, 300 ft. drop
  17. It seems to work for the Cyclone
  18. well for the time being it seems like the good cheep way to fix the problem
  19. lets just hope that a set of Morgan trains don't suddenly show up at PKI - What I don't think many people get is that the loop was not this coasters only gimmick, when it opened I believe it had the two tallest drops on a wooden coaster, it had four tricks up it's sleeve, size, speed, length and a loop.
  20. Still pretty far from being the Rye Aeroplane but the good news is that they are getting closer and closer each year
  21. If Bigfoot goes I can see Cedar Fair getting somthing like Maverick to put back there
  22. Lets all just face it they are probably going to ship it to KBF to replace Bigfoot Rapids . . . Scott smell the sarcasam Brown
  23. I can't vote in this poll either becauase there is no option for Faith No More
  24. I wish the rumored wooden coaster would work out for Bonfante Gardens they need a bit more in that park
  25. wow that contrast of Arrow and Vekoma track is going to be disturbing
