Anyone else in here remember the quake of 89, I still remember it like it was yesterday, everything in our kitchen was broken and the wave from our pool flooded the entire first floor of my house - we learned that those handy things to keep cabinets from flying open are very useful and it would have been nice if we had them.

How do you evacuate a drop tower?
ScottBrown replied to jmccalip's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I know with sky towere there are stairs down the middle and doors up the tower to get to them from the cabin Im pretty sure most drop rides have a way to lower the cars back down to the ground safley -
Wow I didn't know Tip Top / Volcano flat rides still existed - I love those things

How do you evacuate a drop tower?
ScottBrown replied to jmccalip's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think Intamin drop towers need to be all the way at the top to drop, there may be a way to manualy drop the cars from above them though -

Disney Characters gone wild?

What we all need to keep in mind is that while we have seen little about this in US media im sure the late night shows and comedy centeral will pick up on it if they havn't already (sorry don't watch much TV), it is also all over the net and first showed up in the Sun and while I don't have exact statistics I would venture to say it is a publication that millions of people read and if it was on the cover anyone that has gone through a store checkout line knows about it the damage has been done there is no way to "sweep it under the rug" at this point -
It all depends on the park and how rain may effect the ride - From what I have seen most rides that have drive tires close and in some cases coasters with exposed brakes will either drop down to a single train or close

I'm no expert, but in my opinion, it does appear to be wider track. On the flip-side, though, does anybody think that the railing itself actually looks SMALLER than usual? That's kinda freaky. I think I should have clarified my question. How big is the track in comparison to Shekra? Because the track on Shekra is huge! Is it the same guage or a larger one to accomodate the wider trains? Mabey we need an expert from B&M to answer this. Any experts from B&M here posting? Im not claimimg to be an B&M expert but just from the descriptions above it sounds like the track is probably bigger which is what is making the railing look smaller - just a guess though

Valleyfair (VF) Discussion Thread
ScottBrown replied to the_rock401's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Great so the general public perfers B&M coasters even though 1% of them know what they are - My point is the GP doesn't care who the designer is, go to Knott's look at the lines for Silver Bullet, Xcelerator and Boomerang they all are popular with the GP -
The second stratosphere tower?
ScottBrown replied to Ed's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
yup I see a drop ride down the side of the tower in those but I wonder what the deal with the flight capuules are - The first thing that came to mind was the Intamin Flight Trainer (god lets hope not) -

Dude B&M is more well known than youi think - First off anyone that has watched one of those Discoverey or Travel Channel shows has probably heard of B&M - and why would CF turn to B&M for their next project - They have a very good thing going with Intamin a company I would venture to say is just as "gp-popular" as B&M and from the looks of things Cedar Fair seems to think so as well otherwise Cedar Point wouldn't be building the fourth in a row - But I have noticed the GP doesn't mind getting bumped around on a Vekoma or Arrow it's the spoiled enthusiasts that do most of the complaining of headbanging, B&M is more of an ACE-Popular company. . . Smotth ride and Fat person seats -

Its great that they have a bit of fun prior to a parade out of public view, but these idiots did this knowing it was being video taped, now it is no longer out of public view, very bad decision - Isn't there a rule against taping or taking pictures backstage? -
What's your favorite Flat ride?
