  1. Here is my take on 13, due to the strict zoning laws Alton Towers must abide by they will never be able to have a true drop ride and they had to get a bit creative to manage to get a similar experience in the park somehow, Alton Towers isn't about intense rides as much as creative ways to get around the Zoning laws and bitchy neighbors which in some cases by accident result in some true world class coasters like Nemesis and in other cases result in cool concepts like Oblivion and 13
  2. From the sounds of it it may count as an entirely new coaster
  3. I'm happy with any fair as long as the Zipper is there
  4. Im keeping my fingers crossed that Gerstlauer is designing new trains for this project and we wont see the horrible trains we are thinking of running on this coaster
  5. if the "track is not bent, but is cut, then welded together in 40 to 53-foot lengths" wouldn't that make it rather jerky
  6. I think I had heard Gerstrauler come up at one point regarding the trains
  7. Im sure a big part of the decision to have steel track is to lower maintenance costs as much as they can
  8. My worst ride experience was on Revolution (Intamin Looping Ship) at Californias Great America the last time I rode it on the first swing the ship made that took it upside down as we were hanging there the whole row of lap bars popped up a few inches which was even more frighting due to the fact that we were holding the shoulder restraints slightly open to avoid being crushed by them.
  9. Well duh, this is California upon the slightest gust of wind the show will be canceled. Its probably not a good idea to even fart too close to the show . . .

  11. Although it isn't the first time a park removed their largest coaster for something waterpark related
  12. I could see it happening...lol Screamscape is reporting a rumor of a Bizzaro makeover on this ride that sounds like it may be just that. The interesting thing is that according to rumor the Bizzaro track may have the car on backwards . . .
  13. I saw testing footage of the BSG coaster at Universal Singapore and it looks to be a 4 abreast inverted coaster not the kneeling suspended coaster like the article stated
  14. Im unimpressed as well it is like they combined the fairly old technology seen at the Bellagio and the Mirage and let Disney throw up all over it
  15. It was nice of Alton Towers to honor TPR by naming their new coaster to commemorate the release of Coaster Expedition Volume 13
  16. I know its not going to happen but it would be nice to see the shuttle get shipped to SFDK, it would be great to see a shuttle coaster standing and running in that park after one sat rusting away in the parking lot for years.
  17. Send the shuttle back to either Great America park, the Santa Clara one already has the foundations in place
  18. Im a bit shocked to see that a KMG Spinout can operate without all of its arms attached
  19. Post Earthquake Psyclone was a far cry from what you remember, it was a mixture of this ride is a joke and oh crap this thing is going to collapse
  20. Yes I am very glad I got to ride it in its final month of operation, were you able to get on Zonga in its short lifespan?
  21. You do realize we are probably the only two here that will ever use the words Flashback and Favorite in the same sentence right . . .
  22. Wow that coming from someone who spent many years subjecting himself to the Grizzly
  23. Im 31 my first coasters were The Jet Stars at SCBB and The Whizzer at Great America, First looping coaster was the Tidal Wave . . . guess this explains my love for Schwarzkopf coasters
