  1. I have only seen POVs of BBW and I must say I was never very impressed, I know riding is very different than watching a POV but the layout never looked very exciting to me it just looked like left turn right turn left turn right turn
  2. yes well based on my experience on just about every Vekoma or Arrow Coaster Im not so confident . . . You can but the best wheels there are and run them on the best designed track there is and even then a crappy design for the wheel assembly can make the ride rough. We will just have to wait and see, I am personally hoping for a bit of roughness so it still has a wooden coaster like feeling to it
  3. Could it be possible that there is a difference in all of those corkscrew like elements, like a couple of them would be like the corkscrews on Colossus and the others more like the roll overs on Maverick?
  4. You, Me, and a silent army of coaster dorks are keeping our fingers crossed. It would be nice to see it get the Rocky Mountain Treatment and have it restored to the way it was the day it opened PS sorry about the triple post the stupid Wi Fi here froze up and Im not sure why it posted like that
  5. Really? I know lets not start this again, the wheels will fit fine
  6. Well I guess at this point only time will tell
  7. It may or it may not, quite a bit of Colossus at SFMM is tracked with steel I-Beam track and it sure isn't what I would call smooth for steel that is
  8. I don't quite agree with it being amazing but it was a first step for a company that had huge potential
  9. I have a feeling we will see it happen to the Rattler next if the Texas Giant is a huge success then they will probably move on to the less troublesome coasters in the chain
  10. I can't see that happening however I can see something like Dare Devil Dive going in that spot
  11. Prowler was going to be at CGA for 2009 but because of the neighbors and the football thing, it had to move to worlds of fun. The wooden coaster CGA never got was a GCI but it was not prowler
  12. The Grizzly at CGA needs something done to it, a retrack to make it more like the Kings Dominion one would be nice and possibly it wouldn't be rated the wost wooden coaster in the world again, I know the KD Grizzly isn't all that good either but anything would be an improvement for the CGA version
  13. I would have to say Coney Island being saved the amusement industry would be what it is today if it wern't for Coney Island
  14. I think Hard Rock Park and the near loss of Coney Island tops my list with honerable mentions to Arrow and the whole x fiasco, Astroworlds closure, All of the RCCA coasters not just SOB, the long slow decline of Californias Great America, and lots of Schwarzkopf coasters closing,
  15. Oh yes it has been in a long slow agonizing decline and the Demon the last time I rode it was not aging very well, corkscrews were still fun but the loops were enough to knock the wind out of a person
  16. I wish they would have left those lights up, it did look quite neat in person
  17. Yes the people in Santa Cruz know how to maintain a wooden coaster, last time I rode it it was getting a bit rough . . . rougher than I have ever felt it get before but it was still smother than most wooden coasters out there
  18. Oh man I have been stuck on that one as well and I feel the same way
  19. Yes the entry to the roll overs on hand coaster looks quite brutal and awkward
  20. Yeah there were a whole bunch of carnie rides placed all over the games area it was quite strange to see them there
  21. @ DOCTOR DOOM!!! I don't know if that is always the cause of the rollbacks on GL she was an old lady with an attitude. I saw 3 cable snaps when I worked on her and none of them were pleasant fortunately it was a Schwarzkopf cable and there were never injuries as far as I know. Scott "an Intamin cable might have done otherwise" Brown
  22. I have a good operating one as well, one morning while running the Tidal Wave at PGA the counter weight decided it was no longer going to raise all the way up and for some reason the computer didn't catch it so the first launch of the day the train took off much slower than usual made it to the top of the loop and rolled back. It then stopped way short of the station on the way back, after pushing the train back it did the same thing again, I was sent to another ride but on my first brake a few hours later it was still doing the same thing, it never did end up opening that day. Then there was the day the cable snapped and the weight dropped ripping off a catwalk down the launch area . . . WOW what a noise that was.
  23. And the "Alien attack" is the Earthquake at Universal Studios, Robb I also loved that when the Triple Wheel cage came crashing down it landed somewhere that was not under the ride another interesting act of teleportation
  24. Just Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk and Belmont Park
