  1. Oh yeah I forgot about those two but of course thats easy to do
  2. I wouldn't count on anything other than a Windseeker style ride going in that spot
  3. So that now makes Flight Deck the youngest coaster in the park *sigh*
  4. Yeah Stealth felt like it had aged 25 years in two years those trains were too damn heavy for Fabriweld and took their toll quickly
  5. haha! and I will never forget, I can remember watching that wobble with you over and over again, watching the train shake it's A$$, you've been fascinated with it ever since the coaster was built! (and I never understood why it wasn't a smoother transition) I think it adds such a unique quality to the coaster, I would imagine it is like it is because B&M was still learning the ropes and mastering the perfect transition at the time and at that point all they had done was Batman and if you think about it it is just a Batman corkscrew with an elongated exit to drop down to the water
  6. Have you also noticed the snap when pulling out of the lake turn? Of course my favorite Flight Deck weird transition is the wobble coming out of the corkscrew I don't know why but I love that weird back and forth sensation it provides.
  7. Flight Deck? Rough? It's the smoothest ride in NorCal IMO. The forces are extreme, but it's still a very smooth ride. Also, Demon isn't rough aside from the drop at the corkscrew, it's very smooth. If you're looking for a smooth ride then take the fifth or sixth car. Invertigo is very smooth as well. Grizzly is smooth for a woodie. Vortex is the hell of all B&M's. That's what I think from my experiences. I'm not saying Flight Deck is rough I am just saying it is the roughest of any of the B&M inverts I have ridden, the transition out of the inline twist has quite the jolt in it at times. I disagree about the corkscrew drop being the only rough point on the Demon those loops have beat the hell out of me many times
  8. I was also there in its final month and I had a feeling it was going to be just that so I ended up riding it at least 10 times that day.
  9. I would call the Schwarzkopf Thriller, Texas Tornado, Zonga an elusive credit as well wonder how it is doing in Mexico. I would say the Gulf Coaster at either Great America would probably be classified as a rare credit however given the very short lifespan Scott "Flashback was rater elusive as well" Brown
  10. Yeah I never understood how that ended up happening either, I noticed that Flight Deck is also "rough" when compared to other B&M Inverts. I have no clue what happened with Invertigo it must be a lemon.
  11. I agree with you 100% the green and black was awesome. I wonder if they have ever considered re-inventing the Vortex or if it would even be possible to just say screw the stand up thing and get a set of floorless or even a sit down train for it. It is still a good powerful coaster and a change in the trains could help it out quite a bit and add something to a park that could benefit from any changes for the better at this point
  12. Yes I don't think Vortex gets due credit for how much track there is on such a tiny piece of land, B&M really did an amazing job with what they had to work with
  13. I guess I'll let him know. That video was posted 3 pages and 6 hours ago. But thanks (no sarcasm intended). I do agree with you, it looks fantastic. Really looking forward to doing this (or will it be doing me?) coaster. Peace! Stupid Facebook it had just showed up on my wall when I posted that
  14. SFOT just posted a video on FB of The Giant making a test run, and it looks good, those bolts and gaps in the tracks in no way interfered
  15. Me and my friends had the restraints pop open 2 or 3 clicks across the entire row on Revoulition (looping starship) at CGA while it was hanging upside down not a very fun experience never been on it since
  16. How exactly is Medusa a flying coaster? Besides, neither of them was the first. This was. http://www.rcdb.com/2380.htm I don't know how Medusa is a flying coaster or how it was the first since Medusa had opened at SFGAdv the prior year but that is how they advertised it, they even flew a plane with a banner over PGA on Stealths opening day stating Medusa as the worlds first flying coaster
  17. The year PGA opened Stealth and SFMW opened Medusa with both parks claiming to be opening the first flying coaster
  18. Thats a shame I think if it never had those shoulder restraints it would have been more popular . . . while it didn't work out well for Six Flags im sure there are many smaller parks that it would have worked out much better for. It makes me wonder if it is rough for the same reasons the Eurostar is and if there would have been any way at all to fix it
  19. Robb did you get to ride Flashback without the shoulder restraints at some point?
  20. Though I only got to see the ride SBNO when I was there in 2001 I wonder if Intamin would consider bringing back the concept now that design technology and the restraints have vastly improved since the Space Diver was first introduced. It was definitely an interesting take on what could be a vertical Wild Mouse. I would love to see that happen even a slight redesign to the layout opening up some of the tight clearances so it would only require lap bars would be great. Like I said the ride had so much potential I think it was just a bit ahead of its time
  21. I agree, Flashback had so much potential to be a great fun coaster and new restraints would have improved the ride quite a bit although I can't think of a time I ever hit my head on that thing . . . even the noise problem could have been taken care of I think it would have been a great candidate for a Batman Dark Night makeover by enclosing it and putting effects in similar to the SFGA mouse version
  22. Yeah Flashback was always one of my favorites I never found it to be the monster is gets made out to be. I got to ride it in its final monts of operation and it was a bit rougher but not unbearable, I always get a much more severe beating from an SLC or an older Arrow Looper to tell you the truth
  23. I agree that SFMM hs done a "pretty" good job with their coaster collection. To me it's still a "B" grade line up overall, with a few too many coasters that do almost the exact same thing. Where they have really thrived lately, is the smart decisions to re-market X2 and Superman, and remove the dead weight of Psyclone and Flashback. No other park I can think of has done more to right the wrong of past decisions. Sadly, it seems as though this was mainly under the Shapiro/Thomas rein. I'm not so sure this will continue into the future under new management. Guess this year's WCB will tell us a lot, as I know the question will come up. I think the removal of Flashback was a mistake, they had a one of a kind nothing else like it on earth coaster that just needed a new train design and some work and they opted to scrap it instead
  24. All of my friends know and for the most part they are fine with it especially when they need advice, there is one that does think it is a completely pointless hobby though and I hear about it when ever I bring it up
