  1. Maybe if you both actually took the time to read and comprehend the post you'd understand it had nothing to do with differing opinions. I have no opinion of the ride as I haven't ridden it. It was a dig at people with unreasonable expectations who are negatively critiquing each every aspect of the ride after only a handful of laps when the thing literally just opened. But yeah let's make it about me being intolerant.

  2. You can redeem pre-purchased (or in my case all season) fast lane at any location that sells them.

  3. I suppose you're one of those heathens who takes the time and syllables to say "taylor ham" like you're some kind of elitist with a better vocabulary, huh?

  6. Mini TR - Had a great couple of days at the park yesterday and today with fairly light crowds. Everything was open, for the most part, even Barnstormer. The only staffing closures I noticed were some food places and kids rides. I'm convinced Dollywood really might be in a non-rain bubble. Over 70% chance of storms all day, both days, and it rained maybe once for 5 minutes, although those 5 minutes just happened to be an absolute monsoon while riding Thunderhead. I've never even came off a water ride that soaked, but kudos to Dollywood for their rain operations. Lightning Rod ran great both days, never went down, and even ran 2 trains parts of both days. I did have a bit of a weird experience on Wild Eagle. Almost at the top of the lift hill, and the train starts shaking violently, and I mean very violent. Throwing us up and down. I'm normally one to be pretty confident in these rides' safety features, but that definitely freaked me out. The ride itself was fine, but they evacuated us on the brake run and shut down the ride for the rest of the day after that. A little later on they also closed some pathways for a bit to bring in a large crane. Not sure what's going on, but it didn't seem good. Still an awesome couple days at the park, and can't wait to see how they continue to make this great park even better.

  7. This was my basis for going to CP/KI on Memorial Day (not that they're close, but I'm at CP a lot). I thought about going to SFGAm, SFOG, Carowinds, or SFFT/SFOT but I've never been to any of them. After telling myself I wouldn't visit any new parks during COVID, I ended up getting burned by doing exactly that and rushing to Lagoon which was a bit of a sh*tshow. Even though there were horror stories coming from CP, I figured at least I wouldn't "miss out" if it was less than desirable. And adding on KI was an easy decision. If the employee shortage gets worked out by this fall, it might be worth going to new places but right now I'm still planning on sticking to familiar parks for a few more months. Places where if it's a zoo and I cant get a fastpass, I dont mind just walking around leisurely or just leaving.

  8. That sounds similar to our experience. We were not fans of that park at all. It seemed like word got out that it was going to close forever and they just figured they’d get a head start and close half of it right now. I’m not sure when you got there but I will say that Sidewinder usually opens super late but there’s no sign anywhere telling you that. Congrats on your degree!

  9. Well, just got back from Denver. Highlight: graduated from University of Denver with my MA in Creative Writing. I did the entire degree online and ended up with a 4.0! Lowlight: Elitch Gardens. I had visited the original park in 1980 and loved the Wildcat and Mister Twister. I had read horror stories about this park, but I wanted to get the credits. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a sign which listed two rides as being closed. Once I was in the park, turned out the majority of the rides were closed. Half of the coasters were closed (Half Pipe, Sidewinder, and the kiddie coaster) and most of the flats as well. I did ride Mind Eraser (Vekoma SLC...painful) Boomerang (Vekoma boomerang..also painful) and Twister II. It was ok but nothing like the original. Went on the park's website, and none of those rides (other than Half Pipe) are listed as closed. Pissed. I emailed the park and am hoping for a full refund but I doubt it. Advice: avoid this park unless you like being disappointed.

  10. Guess SF is truly serious in making sure they are doing the exact opposite of Cedar Fair this year. Still unbelievable how the tables have turned (well, for now at least)

  11. Busch Gardens does a very good job of updating the website with what rides are currently closed for staffing and budget. In short: Finnegan's Flyer and The Flying Machine are closed but I think they're both actually broken / being refurbed, Mäch Tower (lol), Rhine River Cruise, Roman Rapids and Skyride are closed every day for staffing. Battle For Eire is also closed, possibly forever. Escape from Pomeii and Le Scoot are open Friday - Sunday only but this park has a strong under-promise and over-deliver policy with this list so if they opened them on a weekday if they had the staff I wouldn't exactly be shocked. All other rides including all coasters are open daily.

  12. The park quietly updated their summer hours a few days ago. They've extended them! 9:00 closes most nights and 10:00 closes on Saturdays. Awesome to see!

  13. Seeing Twister getting hate is rather disappointing. That was my personal favorite. However, I see why you folks don't like it. The attraction aged horribly, it didn't get proper refurbishments and never got those errors corrected whatsoever. But it was truly was something to experience when it was first brand new. The effects were extremely amazing to behold in person. The power was very unique! The first thing to state that is kind of a bother was the name. Twister... Ride It Out. It wasn't ride, so it makes sense that people felt ripped off. If you knew any better and knew what the film was. Then that feeling wouldn't be a thought in the first place. But seeing how Twister rotted away in that area is extremely saddening to see. Even seeing the specials effects turn into nothing but garbage is truly dumb. Same for the audio. Being too quite and not even holding the power it once held. I know the topic about twister was like 5 years ago. But I felt like replying because of the harsh throw back against the show. Plus, Twister was far better than Jimmy Fallon. That's a fact. Maybe if Twister was taken care of, or turned into an actual ride. Then I am sure the attraction would be enjoyed.

  14. So Six Flags New England’s coaster power hours were awesome. They only advertised the coasters and frisbee being open but as more and more staff became available for an event that they just started advertising a few days ago they opened like half the flat rides in the park for no reason even though nothing was filling trains. It’s really a tale of two companies with them and Cedar Fair right now

  15. So, let me get this straight... A larger version of Dragonflier, in the expansion area, that's directly next to Dragonflier. They have good master planners working for them, I don't think that's going to happen. Willing to eat my words though, a new terrain inverted coaster along the lines of Big Bad Wolf or Eagle Fortress would be killer, wherever it ended up.

  16. People really think Dollywood might get a giga? That seems laughable to me. Would be cool, but I don't see that happening.

  20. I finally checked out the new camp snoopy. Looks very good. All 7 coasters were running. They were short staffed like every other park but the employees generally seemed very happy. The new snoopy area looks very good and fits in well!

  22. Happy to announce that I made a reservation for July 18 and will be returning for a long overdue trip back to this park. I haven't been since 2007 so I'm obviously stoked for all the new editions, especially Flying Cobras. Also looking forward to a visit to Myrtle Beach the day before to ride Swamp Fox and do a mini whore tour.

  24. Yeah, it’s been closed for budget since the park reopened last year. I mean “because of Covid” as they say. They run the one at their San Diego park but though so I guess they just don’t care if their west coast guests die of covid by riding the best ride for social distancing ever invented.

  25. "Fist me daddy" is not only a middle school level of maturity, if I was on there with my kids when you did it we wouldve had problems. And what does "Mind WYRRMS" even mean?

  27. So word on the street is that many longtime entertainers at the park have been recently let go, including a large chunk of the Christmas Carol cast. Apparently the park has run into copyright claim issues considering the music featured in both major Christmas shows are all songs ripped from pre-existing musicals (which I assumed the park had licensed years ago, but evidently not). It seems like Christmas Carol and It's a Wonderful Life are gone for now, which is not only a disappointing loss to the Christmas festival, but also seems like a crowd issue, considering the 1,000ish people at a show each hour will now have to find someplace else in the park to spend their time.

  28. The park has quietly updated their operating hours. The 11-9 days are all gone. They've shortened the summer operating hours to either 12-8 or 11-7 . Every day now has an 8 hour operating day including weekends and holiday weekends until Labor day. On a positive note, they have added daily ops through the first few weeks of August on days that were originally listed as closed.
