rollermonkey Posted March 31, 2006 Posted March 31, 2006 Grasshopper, Coaster season never ended for me last year! I rode the Nasu Highlands coasters in the snow with the Alvey family on New Year's Eve and Hit Tokyo Disneyland the next day! I think I've gotten about 40 new-for-me coasters since then!
Spookbaby Posted March 31, 2006 Posted March 31, 2006 Mine is going to be this Saturday at Six Flags St. Louis and it's probably going to be Mr. Freeze just because my fiancee and I are the only people in our group who have ridden it so we thought we'd pop everyone else's "Mr. Freeze" cherries (You know, now that the ride doesn't make your IQ drop several points because the OTSR's are gone)
Reon Posted March 31, 2006 Posted March 31, 2006 Something at PKI on the 14th more than likely. My money is on Vortex, since I always hit that first... Â Jared"Screw you, Im counting Avatar as a credit"Becker
Rugged One Posted March 31, 2006 Posted March 31, 2006 Hopefully Kingda Ka or Nitro this Sunday at Great Adventure.
lapseofreason Posted March 31, 2006 Posted March 31, 2006 I hate to say it, but Viper (SFMM) was my first coaster this season. Stupid crowded park. Â EDIT: Technically, my first coaster this year was Canyon Blaster at the Adventuredome in Las Vegas. But as theme parks count, my first visit to SFMM this year was today, so Viper would be it.
Billy Hill Posted March 31, 2006 Posted March 31, 2006 My daughter and I took a "daddy and his girl" trip to SFMW last weekend. (My wife and the boys supposedly had better things to do. Whatever... Their loss!) We rode the "mighty" (kidding on the mighty part) Cobra! on our way to Medusa. Ok, ok... Give me a break! There was like no one in line! (Yeah, that's a good excuse...) Besides, we didn't really think about it at the time as Cobra being our official "first coaster" of the season, but there it is! Maybe I should get some T-shirts printed up that say, "Wusses R Us!" Â Anyhow, once we did get to Medusa, we found what looked to be at least an hour+ wait since they were only running one train. We ditched that idea and went to ride some other stuff instead. We came back to Medusa in the mid afternoon and only had to wait about maybe 15 minutes. Mucho better! I wanted to ride Kong (aka: Konk!) too, but the daughter has had her brains scrambled by that thing one too many times, and wanted no part of dealing with a headache for the rest of the day. I'll talk my boys into riding it with me next time. They don't care about the head banging. (Or just don't know any better.) Â Other than that, we won a few stuffed animals, watched a couple shows, had some chow, got her a fake tatto, and generally had a really good time. By the way, Roar was running pretty decent. I may not be any great roller coaster buff, but I know what I like, and I like that ride. Â I'm looking forward to PGA this weekend.
mark9 Posted March 31, 2006 Posted March 31, 2006 Colossus front row on 15th march. It then closed for the rest of the day.
Penguin Posted March 31, 2006 Posted March 31, 2006 My first ride of the season will be this weekend at SFStL. Don't know for sure yet which coaster it will be but I'm thinking either Batman or Mr Freeze. Then my first new coaster credit of the year will be in a couple of weeks when I go to WoF and ride Patriot.
ParkTrips Posted March 31, 2006 Posted March 31, 2006 Cheetah @ WA... followed by Hangman, Gold Rush, Swamp Thing, Bug Out, Ant Farm Express, Kraken, Journey to Atlantis, Dahlonega Mine Train, Mind Bender, Batman the Ride, Georgia Cyclone, Great American Scream Machine, Superman Ultimate Flight, Georgia Scorcher, Triple Hurricane, Okechobee Rampage, Galaxy Spin, Swamp Thing, Dragon Wagon, Expedition Everest, Primervial Whirl, Rockin Roller Coaster, Barnstormer, Big Thunder Mt Railroad, Incredible Hulk, Dueling Dragons, Revenge of the Mummy, Woody Woodpecker's Nuthouse Coaster, Flying Unicorn, SheiKra, Kumba, Scorpion, Cheetah Chase, Montu, Gwazi and Goliath. Â Not a bad start to the year especially considering most parks still havem't opened for the season
Darien Laker Posted March 31, 2006 Posted March 31, 2006 Mine is going to be something at SFDL, probably Viper or S:ROS, sometime in May, most likely.
Jive Posted March 31, 2006 Posted March 31, 2006 I rode Patriot back on Wednesday the 29th. Â I'm not used to riding something that intense first thing after winter and it kick me square in the booty.
benzo41190 Posted April 1, 2006 Posted April 1, 2006 I have not been to a park yet this year but my first coaster will be Viper at SFGAm. It is always very dead around the beginning of the season, which means re-rides
SonOfBeastSucks Posted April 1, 2006 Posted April 1, 2006 I am going to SFKK tomorrow, so it will be something there. I would take a guess and say Chang, but the last time I went, we walked around hopelessly lost trying to figure out how to find the bridge to get to the other side of the park.
okinawaboy11 Posted April 1, 2006 Posted April 1, 2006 It will probably be either Superman: Ride of Steel (SFA) OR Hypersonic: XLC (PKD). MAYBE Volcano (PKD)
Timpowes Posted April 1, 2006 Posted April 1, 2006 I tihnk it'll be Vilda musen or Jet Line at Gröna Lund. Or else, it'll probably be Lisebergsbanan at Liseberg.
SonOfBeastSucks Posted April 2, 2006 Posted April 2, 2006 My first coaster of the season ended up being Greezed Lightning at SFKK earlier today. It was also a new credit for me.
MattJackson Posted April 2, 2006 Posted April 2, 2006 My first coaster of the season was Superman: Ultimate Flight at Great Adventure. What a way to start for me...
EagleFan344 Posted April 2, 2006 Posted April 2, 2006 Im going to SFSTL April 15th. I will probably end up on Freeze first...
martinb Posted April 2, 2006 Posted April 2, 2006 Did you know thats theres a park in England that is open ALL year round, it was closed for 1 weekend last becasue Christmas day was on the wekeend, but if x-mas is during the week, it il be open every weekend of the year and daily from April - October! Â Anyone guess?
viking86 Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 Two days ago I rode New Rollercoaster in New Metroland, which is located in Europe's largest shopping mall called *drumroll* Metrocentre. Its just across the river from Newcastle.
Fry Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 Rita: Queen of Speed at Alton Towers. Â Last Saturday. Â Back row. She's still as awesome as last May.
Guest Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 I will proably end up riding tatsu for me first coaster in 2006
crispy Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 Well, I rode my first coaster, and it technically was a Galaxi Coaster, but hey thats alright, I followed that up with the New Mexico Rattler
