bert425 Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 So does anyone know what Knoebels rain policy is? It looks like it might rain for PPP but if they don't care (and I assume they don't because they're cool like that), then we don't either. we were there during a DOWNPOUR in June. seriously, it poured so much the park flooded for a good 40 minutes, then all drained and almost everything opened back up. the only ride that was affected was Flying Turns. . it went down after the first downpour, and they never got it back up, because every time it would dry off enough to start testing again, another wave of showers came thru.
jray21 Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 When we visited a few years ago, we decided to go on the chairlift when it was cloudy. It was a terrible decision because it started pouring and we had no way to escape it! They kept it running though!
dwainw Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 Screamscape is showing a picture of what is assumed to be Impulse track traveling on I-64 west of Richmond. Anyone know where Zierer track is manufactured? If it is imported, would the port of entry be Norfolk? If that location is correct, it seems to be taking an odd route to Elysburg.
GwaziBSRider1 Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 ^ I saw that picture. Screamscape is (once again) incorrect. That's the track for the new Premier coaster at Busch Gardens.
A.J. Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 The source didn't explicitly say which direction the track was going, did they? I-64, at least Eastbound, is the way to Busch Gardens Williamsburg, even if they spotted the track west of Richmond. I-64 goes straight through Richmond. I'm fairly certain that the track in the source's photo is for Busch Gardens Williamsburg's new coaster. Zierer used this kind of track on Wicked, their other tower coaster...
dwainw Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 I thought the color seemed wrong, and the location seemed wrong, but I completely forgot about BGW's new ride. That is obviously what we are looking at. Anyone know where Premier track is manufactured?
RCF Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 I thought the color seemed wrong, and the location seemed wrong, but I completely forgot about BGW's new ride. That is obviously what we are looking at. Anyone know where Premier track is manufactured? Intermountain Lift in Clearfield, Utah.

coasterbill Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 Power Surge is back. From the park's Facebook page.
Ccron10 Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 ^awesome! Any update on Impulse? They do have a webcam set up that does do a time-lapse each day. They seem to be cruising right along with the footers: http://www.knoebels.com/index.php/impulse
alilstronger Posted December 5, 2014 Posted December 5, 2014 LOVE Power Surge! I wish more parks would get them.
Guy T. Koepp Posted December 5, 2014 Posted December 5, 2014 ^Is it weird that I glanced at that and saw, "I Love Powdered Sugar!"
Jcoaster Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 Any word or news on Impulse? I'm curious about this project. It isn't getting as much publicity as I thought it would.
A.J. Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 The foundation's being poured, and coaster parts are currently on a ship somewhere on the Atlantic Ocean. I'm not too fond of the X amount of cubic yards of concrete - hopefully they'll be able to do something to cover most of it up.

We're getting a legit steel coaster though so I'll take it.
BlahBlahson Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 ^Knoebel's and Holiday World with a steel multilooper in the same year...what a time to be alive.
coasterbill Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 I'm so happy for Knoebels. This is going to be a great addition for them.
Sharman19 Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 ^There's always a park missing a little special something, and I am so thrilled for 2 small parks, to get something a regional park would get.
coasterbill Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 ^ Honestly I don't think Knoebels is missing anything. They just love to put awesome icing on the already awesome cake. They've been my favorite park in the country for years but they keep getting better. "Hey look... we're already amazing and have the best collection of flat rides anywhere but just for fun here's one of the best drop towers in the country". "We already have the best classic style dark ride in the world... here's another one with some coaster drops in it". "We already have Phoenix and Twister... how about the world's only flying turns ride that enthusiasts have been begging for for 40+ years". "We just opened a new coaster and an awesome drop tower in the last few years so we really don't need anything but here's a steel looping coaster with a vertical drop that of course has lap bars to make it extra awesome". ... and on top of that when they add new rides they very rarely remove anything of value. The same can't be said for a lot of other parks.
Paradox Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 I wish that Impulse would have a launch like Wicked, but the ride looks great! It is a bit short, but so is the average Eurofighter and this looks much better.
