Meteornotes Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 This thread should never be off the first page. dt
cfc Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 If they launched you from a slingshot on the moon, would you ever come back down?
rcjp Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 ^Well, I suppose that if you were on a normal slingshot you would come back down, it just would take a lot longer. However, in theory, if you were on a extra powerful one you could rise enough to escape the moon's gravity field and wouldn't come back. You would have to be launched with an incredible speed, though.
TPDave Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 I'm now imagining a ghetto carnival on the moon with coasters and reverse bungees, I wanna go! Actually, what would a skycoater on the moon be like? I'm guessing a lot more sedate!
larrygator Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 You could use the bungee cords to keep riders attached to the Tagada
cfc Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 Here are some carnies you might meet on the moon. They're probably more pleasant than most carnies on Earth.
Meteornotes Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 ^And like smell better. And have more teeth. dt
J man Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 36 pages of discussion later, and the question still stands. What would rides be like on the moon???
traincrossin Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 36 pages of discussion later, and the question still stands. What would rides be like on the moon??? I think the real question here is which moon are we talking about?
cfc Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 (edited) 36 pages of discussion later, and the question still stands. What would rides be like on the moon??? I think the real question here is which moon are we talking about? Indeed. I imagine there would be major differences in rides on Earth's moon as compared to those on one of Jupiter's moons. robbalvey Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 We at least know that Gravity Group woodies will work on the moon! Go to 2:23 in this video:
cal1br3tto Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 I remember one time, I went through this entire thread looking for BOOBS...on the MOON!!! I had somehow failed to notice the Page 27 indicator.
rolercstrluvr Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 I remember one time, I went through this entire thread looking for BOOBS...on the MOON!!! I had somehow failed to notice the Page 27 indicator. Question is, why did it take us 27 pages before we thought of that.
Meteornotes Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 ^That's a good question. I suppose we occasionally fail as a species. But we're also failing by not keeping this amazing thread on the first page! So, does the moon have the power to make any coaster better because it is on the moon? Like, would a boomerang be worth marathoning on the moon? dt
GayCoasterGuy Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 ^Classic "can't get no ship to go tonight" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yg-UdkvykIk
Meteornotes Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 This thread should never be off the front page! And since there's a lunar eclipse coming up, one might wonder if that would effect rides...ON THE MOON?!? dt
GCI Wooden Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 I wonder what Intamin Freefall towers would be like... ON THE MOON!? I agree that this thread should never leave the front page. Also, the Gravity Group guys are awesome.
Nrthwnd Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 Have one of these to "get there." "It's the oooonly way to fly." (Old Western Airlines commercial.)
coasterer22 Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 This has to be the greatest thread I have ever come across on this site. I would attempt to add to the discussion, but really have no idea how to begin to answer this question.
cfc Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 This movie could be turned into a great ride . . . on the moon!
