Hey all,

Last year I went to Six Flags St. Louis on Easter weekend (thanks for the advice, by the way!) The place was absolutely empty. I'm planning to do the same thing this year. Only thing is, Easter is two weeks earlier this year.. April 1st versus April 16th last year. I'm afraid that it might line up with Spring Break for many people, which might make the park crowded.. Any locals have experience with this? I don't need any advice on what to ride; as mentioned I've already been there, but I'm wondering if the earlier Easter could draw in more crowds.

Most schools are going on Break the second to last week of March in the area from what I can tell. You're still good.

Spring break is spread out all over the month of March depending on district which it was last year too. Almost every school will be off on Good Friday and the park will probably be open that day but that also would have been the same as last year. I say that weather will affect attendance more than anything. But what will be different with the earlier Easter date is that it will only be the second weekend it's open. If the weather is really bad opening weekend, March 24 and 25 then that may up crowds on Easter weekend. Most of that however should be concentrated on Friday and Saturday, it has been my experience that Easter Sunday is usually pretty quiet, especially if you get there at open and beat the church people.

The survey I took about the proposed new tiers had Diamond Elite priced at a proposed $19.10 per month for memberships.

If that is regular price that is a bargain given the full price of Gold. Of course, less a bargain if they never go on sale.

The way the survey was structured leads me to believe they're really trying to push people to memberships instead of season passes. The first group of questions could be summed up as "Hey, did you realize memberships were super awesome and are just as cool as those season passes please think they're pretty oh so pretty?", and all of the proposed tiers had only membership prices given. No word on how they plan to roll season passes into these proposals.

That's great!

It's a shame that the death and removal of the Fling was quick and sudden versus getting an announcement and a "one last ride" kinda thing. I suppose sometimes when they go, they just go. RIP and I hope the replacement flat lives at least half as long a life!

Your replacement flat may well be a Zamperla Endeavor. In which case, your in for a treat.

I hope that doesn't become the only means to get the season pass type experience, or we'll definitely reconsider. We loathe monthly payments, big or small, which is why all of our crap is paid for minus the house (for now).

If this is what they plug in as a replacement for it, it would be nice to have something in the name that throws back to the Fling. I'd expect them to use something already trademarked, though.

If an Endeavor goes in why not keep the name?

True. I haven't ridden it in as long as I can remember, but I would probably have gone for one last ride.

The ride made a very cool sound when it decelerated. It alsmost sounded like a car or plane decelerating. Does anyone know what caused that?

Thats the sound of the hydralic drives that move the ride slowing down. Huss and Schwartzkopf rides make this common sound due to the powerful drives

If they do, most people probably wouldn't notice it's any different.

That was kinda my idea. Similar ride cycles and everything.

You could call it Harley's Highland Fling.

Downside to using a similar name is the average person will assume that its the same ride. Some people thought JL was nothing more than Scooby with new sets until an employee explained how JL was different.

As much as I like the Highland Fling name, I think it should be retired with the ride for now.

You can't fix stupid.

I suppose it'll just be Catwoman then. If an Endeavor goes in.

Not the worst name, but it is pretty terrible.

I guess it is better than Wonder Woman Golden Lasso Coaster lol!

I'd still kill for one right now, Von. Even if it were named 'Wonder Woman's Wonderful Girl's Night Out' and it had pink and purple track.
