Why haven't they re themed Log Flume to Aquaman and integrated it into DC Comics Plaza? For that matter American Thunder too.

Because it doesn't make sense to. Nobody really cares about Aquaman (people would still call it "Log Flume" anyways), and AT is pretty separated from the main DC Comics area.

Actually for a cohesive theme it would make sense but whatever

When I said "makes no sense" I meant from the park's economical point of view. A new theme, especially based on a superhero nobody really cares about, is pointless. Not to mention logs and Aquaman don't make any sense from a theme perspective. Does he ride in one in the comic books? I've never read them, but I doubt it.

He doesn't ride a Tidal Wave boat either but that didn't stop SFOT. Your point is moot but we might as well go full Reductio ad absurdum. Superman doesn't ride a drop tower. Batman doesn't ride under the tracks on a ski lift. Joker doesn't use swinging boats.

I'm not talking about the ride itself I'm talking about the vehicles. If they replaced the logs with blue and orange boats, sure it would work.

Not sure why we're discussing this. It's not going to happen anyways.

I wouldn't want them to change the Log Flume... It has too much nostalgia. I think most people would like to see it freshened up new same color paint...that's about it. It is one of the few original rides that are still operating.

For that matter American Thunder too.

Pretty simple, they had to re-ruse and continue the Motorcycle theme from when it was Evel Kneviel. American Thunder doesn't line-up with anything in the area, nor does the Log Flume. Names and theming are after-thoughts.

Sitting here in our Pensacola condo killing some time on a rainy day... I found plenty of entertainment in the fact that the last negative trip report didn't mention anything about the steaming piles of crap areas that had since been been cleaned up.

Yes, the park is taking good steps in the right direction. But yes, we are way behind the curve. Ask yourself how long we can make the steps in the right direction, before we Peter out again. Ask yourself if those steps will turn into the giant leap into a new modern attention getting attraction when push comes to shove, or will we again just get another aqua twist and say "some day."

Hey everyone...interesting discussion here. I'll have to read up on the past 10 pages or so when I get a chance.

I'm visiting Monday the 7th (Labor Day) since it's closed the Friday before. I'm just hitting it on the way to/from SDC, but plan on a full day that Monday. Honestly besides Justice League and Mr. Freeze (A fantastic, fantastic coaster IMO) I'm excited to visit the park because it does look like it will take me back to the late 90's/early 2000's. Just seems like it has been frozen in time besides the addition of Justice League.

What's the plan of attack for this park? Probably Boomerang first, right? Anyone else been to the park during Labor Day? Any tips on line lengths/where to sit/ where to eat outside the park, etc will be appreciated. Looks like we have some locals that could really help me out!

Thanks again in advanced for the help.

Bumping because this got buried under the Boomerang/Bumper cars discussion. Any help? Cool places to eat outside of the park? Thanks!

That's great, but the soda normally tastes horrible at most the free standing locations.

i'm sorry...i have never actually tried it

Also, this should be a great week for the park to begin working on a lot of things that can't be worked on during full time operation. One of these things has to do with a big present that was sent received from SFOT...

I would def go JLBFM first thing if It's open when the park opens. If it's not then Mr. Freeze is directly across from it. My favorite place to eat in the park is JB"s BBQ. Good food and very large portions and its indoors with tons of tv's and Freestyle coke machines. Pulled pork nachos are a must have.

As far as where to eat outside the park, if you like Mexican food, El Nopal in Eureka is pretty good. It's about 4 miles down the road (W 5th Street to N Central Ave).

Congrats on the move to Human Resources!

^ I'm assuming it's something to help out with JL:BFM.
I thought he was talking about boomerang, but who knows (except HWfan of course).

Well we all know that JLBM has been busy all year with Guests, but it's about to get busier in a different way. Texas' traffic jams are Missouri's gain.

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess we are getting an extra ride vehicle! That's cool if so.

Heard from Holly Noel today (Love At First Fright performer) about Fright Fest auditions and she says that the park only needs 60 actors left for all of the attractions and Scare Zones this year and with three audition dates left, thats looking to be a lot more Freaks than we've ever seen in the park thus far, and that I'm excited for.
