Also in line for Cyclops-

The same group from the other Cyclops story noticed that they couldn't all ride on the same cycle, so one of the people in the group asked-

"Hey, can we cut in front of you?"

Me-"Uh, NO!"

I was thinking of saying- "Are you really going to ask a stupid @$$ question like that?" But I didn't.

I personally don't see anything wrong with this. People ask if others are willing to wait out or if they want to skip them to ride with their group all the time. It's just more fun riding with friends.

If you don't want to give up your spot just say no, it's not a big deal.

I still think the funniest thing is when the GP insists their restraints came undone during the ride, and claims the ride is unsafe, like this;

My family and I went to Busch Gardens fir the first time today and it was the WORST experience of our lives! We went on kumba and as the ride was going up my husbands seatbelt and harness came undone and popped up. We were desperately waving and screaming at the cameras to stop the ride and nothing was done. My husband is alive by ...(tharr be more)the grace of God! When the ride came to a stop, they were slow to respond and even to get a manager took a while! Thank god it was my husband who's quick thinking allowed him to hold on to the harness next to him- if it wouldve been one of my children - they would've deffinately flown out!

^^ Now, it's obviously BS, but sometimes occasional restraint-screw ups happen. For example, a few visits ago at SFMM, my restraint completely unlatched (not the seatbelt) on the first drop. It seriously freaked the hell out of me, but I just pushed it back in as we went through the first loop.

I saw some good (well, some pretty stupid) stuff today that the GP was doing. When riding the Grizzly, I noticed this teen in front of me (probably a 13-year-old) deciding it would be cool to reach out and touch the handrails at random points during the ride. Towards the end, he thought it would be 'cool' to try standing up to touch the framework overhead.

Same coaster, different session, I was putting our stuff in the storage cubbies and as I headed back to my seat, some kids in the front row of the given car was already trying to pull down the lap bar when I was still climbing in. I loudly said "I'm not seated yet, wait!" After I got seated, and trying to put on my seatbelt, they were attempting to pull it down yet again. I think they were surprised to see the restraint resist their pulling and slip back out of their hands. I then used my knee to 'lock' the restraint upward so I can get my seatbelt portion on. It took multiple times to tell them that I'm trying to get my seatbelt on but it was as though I was speaking some alien language as they didn't appear to understand me.

In the end...stupid GP!

So I was waiting in line for Kingda Ka yesterday, there was this guy in front of me that kept looking towards the tower every time the train launched. Apparently, he was trying to figure out how fast Kingda Ka goes because a few seconds later he turned to the person next to him and says: "did you know that kingda ka goes 0 to 60 miles per hour in 4 seconds. It just blows my mind that some one would be stupid enough to not know Kingda Ka's speed while waiting in line. He would have had to pass whole gift shops full of KK merchandise, and in the slim chance that he missed that, the soundtrack in the station he walked past clearly states "reaching speeds of 128 miles per hour".

Same thing happened to me at KD's Hurler. My lap bar unlatched on the lift, but I pushed it back in and held on.

Here's a conversation I remembered from the school year that just ended which almost resulted in my fist going through this kid's mouth:

Kid: "We're going to Harry Potter World this summer."

Friends: "I love that park."

Me: "Come on. The name of the place is not Harry Potter World, it's..."

Kid(cutting me off): "You are a f***ing retard. (turns to friend sitting at another table) This kid says that Harry Potter World isn't a park."

Friend: "What the f***? You are one stupid-a** motherf***er."

I was waiting for the Grizzly @ Great America when these people in front of me were talking about the Beast @ Kings Island. I starting listening and they were talking about that the Beast was 250 feet tall! I was laughing. Usually, I try to help the GP by answering questions like I work in the park, but this was too much.

Another time, I was waiting in line for the new FreeFall @ Santa Cruz. Usually, I don't go on the smaller rides, but it was a new ride. I was standing in line when this woman was asking her kid what the name of the ride is. The kid replied," It doesn't have a name".

Here's another one I heard at a minor league baseball game:

"Volcano is so awesome, it is like 100 miles per hour the whole time." The sad thing was, this was a 41 year old woman.

I think the woman was trying to say it is LIKE going 100 mph, I think she knew it didn't go that fast, but to give an exaggeration to show people how fast the coaster felt like it was going.

Examples:

It's freezing out here (it's only 53 degrees)

It takes forever (it only took 2 hours)

Though, you don't have to get mad with the General Public and I don't want to criticize enthusiasts, gp, or imawesome1124 with this post.

Walking through the Gemini queue today, I overheard a girl say, "Yeah, this isn't that bad, it's not even as big as Maverick." Gemini is 20 feet taller.

-------

Also, while riding the train past Cedar Creek Mine Ride.

Kid points: "What ride is that?"

Mom: "I don't know......"

3rd person: "I think it's Blue Streak."

-------

While in line for Wicked Twister, a kid describes the ride experience, "You keep going faster and faster and faster, then you slow down!"

I just remembered one from about three years ago. On a Facebook page for roller coaster enthusiasts, one of the discussions was a game in which someone would pit two roller coasters against each other, and the next poster would choose which one is the better of the two. They'd then pit the winning coaster against another coaster.

So I had picked Millennium Force from the last poster and pit it against Superman: Ride of Steel (now called Bizarro). The next person's response was something along the lines of,

"Are you kidding? That's the stupidest post ever! There's nothing to compare, Millennium Force is like 100 feet taller. Since that post was so stupid, I'm going to skip over it. Millennium Force vs. Magnum XL 200" *

My reply was something along the lines of,

"Well, I was very interested to see the results of the two coasters that keep on making the #1 spot on the Golden Ticket awards, but I don't feel like argueing today, so I'll play your game (even though Millennium Force is 100 feet taller than Magnum )" *

*The quotes are paraphrased because I cannot find the word for word exchanges, but I clearly remember a lot of the key words from both posts.

I know we were just talking about this a few pages back, but theres that 1 person on utube that thinks cause two rides have similarities, they think there ripoffs

This comment was posted on a pov of superman ride of steel at sfne

"Just a cheap ripoff of Apollo's Chariot at Bucsh Gardens Williamsburg. The only difference is that Apollo's Chariot is better cuz u don't have sides on your cart."

^Well...that's better than what the person mentioned in the post above yours said. The track is like 90% percent identical on the whole, and there's little to no difference visually. Still pretty bad though.

I saw a family go up to a game at a park and ask how much the teddy bear was. When the carny said no, they got all heated up and started yelling at the poor sap for refusing to sell the damn thing. I didn't hear what was being said, but the carny was standing there like he was about to say,"I don't give a shit if you want it or not! I've dealt with you idiots before." And the little 12 year old girl with them started crying like a spoiled brat.
