rawrtotheargh Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 While waiting in line for Colossus at SFMM I told my sister that you could see the coaster in the opening of Step By Step. She then went on to tell me that this wasn't true because there was a beach in the opening credits. Another time one of my friends tried to say that Deja Vu opened before Batman The Ride. And he kept insisting that he knew more about SFMM when it was his second time going.
bgeguy Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 I had a test with a story about Universal Studios Japan's Jurassic Park ride and someone said that the story talked about the biggest coaster in the world. Also, theres a bunch of people on youtube who seem too hate BGE because they like KD more. I mean, yes KD is better, but I don't despise BGE just because its a park nearby. -Matthew K. I would assume that the majority of TPR users disagree with that second statement. Anyway, I heard the classic "the back is faster" while in line for Nessie this past Wednesday. I responded with the "then why doesn't it get back to the station first," Their response was "That is a good question."
Speeddeamon128 Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 I literally just herd this waiting in line for Great Bear. GP: "Do you no that if you sit in the back seat of a roller coaster you see the train do something first then it is your turn!" That was one of the many retarded things I herd the GP say today
megamatt Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 Waiting in line for an Arrow Corkscew at Canobie Lake Park. GP-Did you hear a brick got stuck in the track and stopped the train and everyone fell out? I mean, how is a brick going to get on the track and how on Arrow traqck would it hit the wheels, and why would 1 little brick stop the train suddenly? I mean, nothing the guy said made any sense.
WFChris Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 ^^Doesnt seem too 'retarded' to me, the comment made perfect sense. (???) Chris.
B-RadG Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 Sorry I haven't posted in a while, but I'm back now At opening day at KD I heard someone behind me in line for Volcano say "They don't use the fire anymore because they burned people when they did it"
Thelegendarymatthew Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 I would assume that the majority of TPR users disagree with that second statement. Well I like KD, grew up with it Plus, DOMINATOR! I do respect your opinion of liking BGE rather than KD.
rawrtotheargh Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 While waiting in line for Deja Vu I've over heard a lot of people saying that they are taking down Terminator because it was so painful. Apparently the Coming in Spring 09' signs are wrong.

Apparently the Coming in Spring 09' signs are wrong. Yeah, as excited as we all are about the ride, SFMM has really given themselves a marketting challenge: It's the same type of ride, the same color, and the same location as Psyclone. Meanwhile, SFGAd gets credit for a new ride with Bizarro.

I respect the fact that everyone is entitled to their own opinion but, saying that KD is better than BGE is like saying Megan Fox isn't good looking.
Pufferfish Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 Ok, people who haven't ridden Carolina Cobra cannot say anything about it in context with other boomerangs. I can clearly see why some people would believe it to be the best in the park. It's smooth, pulls a lot of gs, and even has airtime. Afterburn, while it may be a very highly rated coaster, has gotten a slight case of the shakes more recently, and if you don't know how to lean with the curves, you can hit your head pretty hard coming out of the corkscrew. I have seen many people who don't like Afterburn. Anyways, now that my little rant is over, today I got two classic ones. "Tell him that the back goes faster." "Does this ride go upside down?" The funny thing about the second one was the guy asked it after he was on the train and heading out the station and up the lift.
coasterguy618 Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 ^But she isn't Then YOU my friend, have terrible judgment. Sorry.

People will just think its Psyclone 2!!! Chris.
christianscoasters Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 ^But she isn't Then YOU my friend, have terrible judgment. Sorry. Well what about Joe Jonas? He's good looking. I have three Jonas Brothers posters in my room and I got them because he's in 'em. Everyone knows Joe Jonas is hot.* *Don't ever say he is hot. He is mine, so BACK OFF.

At Six Flags Fiesta Texas, this guy said because of the sale of Anheuser-Busch (or whatever the thing is called) they are closing all the Sea World's.
JF0216 Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 GP: "They put a motor at the top of Kingda Ka so it doesn't fall back down anymore." Me: ***pulls out iPhone and goes on TPR...*** LOL they should make a show out of this thread "the GP say the darndest things."
Rocket Rodder Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 Okay, I have to post this one. I was working at Xcelerator on Monday. For those of you who've never been (Is that possible...?) there are two lines, a front car line and o ne for the rest of the train. So the conversation pretty much went like this: GP: Excuse me, sir! (As the train was launching. I couldn't hear him.) Me:.... GP: HELLO!!! ME: I'm sorry.. how can I help you? GP: Yeah, this line is hardly moving. What's wrong with this picture? Me: This line is for the front car, sir. GP: I wish you had some kind of sineage because this line is stupid slow! Me: But... there were three HUGE signs before you even joined the line... There were other people in his group. One woman said :Yeah, we didn't SEE them, thank you! They had FIVE PEOPLE in their group. I said "So... with five people, you couldn't spot three HUGE signs..?" I just thought this was funny.
coasterguy618 Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 GP: "They put a motor at the top of Kingda Ka so it doesn't fall back down anymore."Me: ***pulls out iPhone and goes on TPR...*** LOL they should make a show out of this thread "the GP say the darndest things." Well, techinally they did put somthing at the top of Kingda Ka's tower so it doesn't stall, or rollback whatever. So he is both techinally right and wrong.
megamatt Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 Do you mean an anti-rollback? Putting an anti rollback on a coaster like Kingda Ka would cause more trouble than it rolling back because the train would get stuck at the top and it would have to be pushed over the top hat by a cable or crane.
coasterguy618 Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 Do you mean an anti-rollback? Putting an anti rollback on a coaster like Kingda Ka would cause more trouble than it rolling back because the train would get stuck at the top and it would have to be pushed over the top hat by a cable or crane. Theres a set of magnetic-brake fins on the top of it's tower to prevent it from stalling. Thats what I meant. Anyway, lets go back to the land of being back on topic-ness.
Quicksilver04440 Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 being an operator, the things people say never get old... "Can u guys really stop it upside down" "I don't like you guys unlocking my restraint!!??!?!?! DON'T DO THAT OUTSIDE!!" <--all time second favorite And the all time favorite up at Silver Bullet "Does this ride go upside down?" My response, "Only on tuesdays."
Manny In England Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 My response, "Only on tuesdays." Nicely said.
