tarheel1231 Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 In Cedar Fair, Carowinds and KD fans butt heads over who's park is better. I think most people would say KD is better, but that won't stop me from having home park pride! Who's your park's rival? BGW vs. BGT? Dollywood vs. SDC? SFFT vs. SFOT?
GwaziBSRider1 Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 The only one of my home parks I can think of with a rival is Lakemont. The competition between Lakemont and DelGrosso's is so strong that they're literally driving each other into the ground.
ScreaminNewEngland Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 Canobie and Compounce have the most tension up here. They're the same size and they both have four coasters. SFNE is blown out of the water when it is up against SFGAdv
mightypotato Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 PETA. Canada's Wonderland is so far away from the other Cedar Fair parks, there really is no inter-chain rival. I mean...I guess Cedar Point, but that's one hell of a stretch.
VF15 Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 Valleyfair doesn't really have any big rivals within the CF chain. The next closest CF park is Worlds of Fun, so maybe them? PETA.
MrSum1_55 Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 IOA. The rival is probably the other universal park right across the way. I can buy one ticket for both, therefore I win. Okay, that may have been cheating a bit. So; I guess the main rivals are all other Orlando parks. Well, the theming may not be on Epcot levels, nor is the coaster selection as good as BGT, but it is great to have both elements in one park. Next, Disneyland>Magic Kingdom BGW> BGT Kennywood>Knott's (I group these two together because they are both old, small parks that have been corporatized over the years, adding many big rides. I prefer Kennywood's ride selection, and also I think they integrate the new stuff in well with the old stuff, which Knott's does not do as well. Both parks could improve their operations, though) Kings Dominion>Carowinds (But I still love both parks)

grsupercity Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 usually which ever park gets a coaster, and someone else's home park doesn't. Then we hear about it hahaha
redfoot12 Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 Us Elitch Gardens folk can't stand those redneck jerks over at Frontier City.
K1ngdaKa88 Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 Before a year I was a huge Six Flags Fan and I didn't liked Cedar Fair but now both are nearly the same good in my opinion, but Six Flags is still a bit before Cedar Fair. But don't understand me wrong, I like both park chains!
ernierocker Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 Dollywood really doesn't have a rival. You could say the obvious Silver Dollar City, but they are sister parks and are really too far apart to have any real competition between the two.
Geauga Dog Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 Surprised no one mentioned the Battle of Ohio - Cedar Point and Kings Island. I personally prefer Kings Island.
DarienLaker Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 Darien Lake had Great Escape when they were owned by Six Flags
Genx24 Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 Great Adventure swats away its nearest competitor, Dorney Park.

But don't understand me wrong, I like both park chains! I think Cedar Fair is a bit before Six Flags so I guess I understand you kinda wrong. But I agree that they are the same good in many ways.

WFChris Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 There has always been that bizarre rivalry between CP and SFMM...so there's that...
The49er Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 DLR versus WDW...Glad to say I will be at WDW next year to evaluate (despite a likely West Coast bias)!
Midgetman82 Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 Kentucky Kingdom and Holiday World. Things seemed to have gotten heated again once KK got back in the game.
Sythe Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 Six flags America vs six flags great adventure. I think the winner is obvious...
