coasterschile
It would be awesome to customize the colors of the train cars like in NoLimits 2, because the fact that you can onlyadd 3 colors its pretty lame
Moose
I would love to have an option for either a flat empty land sandbox mode or either a randomally generated already terain sandbox mode. I would love this too. I always do this when playing No Limits, I would love it even more in RCT. In past games I've played scenarios in sandbox by using the money cheat in order to get some varied terrain.
Risky
More concepts... A Toon Town-looking building, and some coaster car designs... Edited November 11, 2014 by Risky
Moose
Some of those look really good. I like the look of the building... If it were available without the crap on the front of it.
Geauga Dog
I agree. I like the look of the building but a lot that "stuff" on the front isn't needed. I am not against some theming optons but I am/was hoping that this new version of RCT would stay away from the cheesy themed elements that are found inthe prior versions. Risky
They seem to be going a bit overboard with the theme stuff. But these are concepts. I hope they ease up on all the themed stuff in the final game.
mnemesi
More concepts... A Toon Town-looking building, and some coaster car designs... This looks like a design for a sit down restaurant, there is an outdoor seating area with chairs, tables, and umbrellas so I would think it would be perfect for a sit down restaurant. I actually like the design of the building, its not a generic looking building and it has some unique features added to it.
Moose
I agree with everything you said, but it's the train, raccoon, and owl I could do without.
gecomet92
You have to remember that's what makes these game fun for younger kids. Little kids don't want realistic they want unrealistic.
COASTER FREAK 11
^Yes! Even even more....thats a really odd design for a restaurant with all that crap on the roof. It looks more like a ride design anyways.
Risky
I actually thought it was some sort of train station.
mnemesi
Looks like we will be seeing more RCTW news soon, hopefully by next week: @pipeworks @DasOatmeal Might have something to show soon
Risky
Keyword: Might. Anyway, I wish there was set release date... and maybe another trailer showing off more of the game.
mnemesi
Pipeworks has said RCTW will be a "early 2015 release", we still don't know exactly what that means but we are coming to 2015 pretty fast.
Risky
I'm thinking March or April for the release date.
Moose
I didn't think that t would be that soon! Hopefully it's actually a finished game that works when it's released.
YoshiCraft2011
*cough* The Sims 4 *cough* Anyways, RCTW looks cool. I'm probably going to stick with RCT3, though. I mean, some of the things look cool so far, but I can have a very similar experience with RCT3. There's no need to update unless a few expansion packs are released. Risky
It sounds like they started working on this game earlier this year. I wouldn't want it to be rushed either. If it turns out to be a polished version of RCT3, I don't know if I'll get it when it first comes out. Plus the expansion packs are inevitable. I might have to wait for a Platinum version like I did for RCT3.
mnemesi
Looks like we will hear information on RCTW "very soon", Pipeworks Facebook and Twitter pages confirmed it. Hopefully that means sometime tomorrow or later this week.
Risky
A game developer's version of "very soon" can mean a few months.
ccfan007
"Official" website for the game went live yesterday. It also looks like Pipeworks is no longer involved in the making of the game. Area 52 has jumped on board to complete the next phase. Still shows an "early" 2015 release. interesting... www.rollercoastertycoon.com
COASTER FREAK 11
Its cool to see that the site supports all versions of RCT and allows you to buy them! From the website: RollerCoaster Tycoon World fans, we are excited to share two exciting progress updates focused on new community channels and game development. First, today we are launching the official RollerCoaster Tycoon World website (www.RollerCoasterTycoon.com) with built-in forums for you – our dedicated fans – to talk with the Atari team and developers to help us shape the game. The new forums strengthen the Atari RCTW community so gamers can play an active role, hear updates, and have an open forum for engagement. Second, we are thrilled to announce we are partnering with Area 52 Games studio, a AAA production house on the next phase of development for RollerCoaster Tycoon World. Specializing in online PC gaming experiences, the Area 52 Games studio has brought together a team of veterans who have worked on major IPs across simulation and strategy genres, including Tropico, the Sims series, the Railroad Tycoon series, the original Pirates, Age of Empires, Forza and other well-known games. Many thanks to Pipeworks for all their efforts in getting us to this point in the development of the game. We are so excited to continue working on RCTW, and are 100 percent focused on creating the next great RCT game! Stay connected to the RollerCoaster Tycoon website, Facebook and Twitter page as we’ll soon be releasing new assets including screens, art, dev blogs, videos and much more! ALT2870
I guess this is actually a flat ride according to the forums over there. (That or they were drunk. ) If so, I actually wouldn't mind that look. Graphics overall don't look much (if any) better then RCT3. However that I guess is not the final version... http://forum.rollercoastertycoon.com/showthread.php?384-Introduction-to-the-Community-Manager-at-Area-52-Games&p=1791&viewfull=1#post1791
YoshiCraft2011
Well, at the moment, the graphics look very The Sims 4. It has that cartoonish style, and if you compare it to vanilla RCT3, it's actually a nice improvement. If this "thing" is actually a flat, I'm guessing that it's some kind of train wreck dark ride.
