rcjp Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 Wait till you ride Parrot Coaster. Haven't been on Baco but I assume the back row of Parrot Coaster is worse than Baco's back row. If you think Parrot coaster is rough, you are not ready for Baco! Parrot Coaster's experience varies a lot from train to train. There are three trains with different LED colors: red, green and blue. The train with red lights is GateKeeper rough but the train with green lights is Boomerang in bad shape during the boomerang element rough. Imagine going over the boomerang element on a bad Boomerang with the old Arrow train for two minutes. This is just a suggestion (as I haven't ridden "Parrot Coaster") but perhaps you're finding it a bit rougher than it really is because of the way the restraints glue you to your seat. I'm sure riding baco in the last row with B&M vests would turn your brain to smithereens.

If you think Parrot coaster is rough, you are not ready for Baco! I heard Furius Baco in the back seat is worse than Manhattan Express...is that true?

It is just horribly rough. Even that perfect first drop doesn't deserve a try if you are riding the green light train.
rcjp Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 ^Wow... I wonder how B&M did that given that they have build rides that have kept running so smoothly after 20 years.
gerstlaueringvar Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 ^ yeah! I wonder if their 1990s coasters even have the rattle that newer B&M's have when they are brand new.
VF15 Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 1) Wingriders - Call me crazy, but I really liked X-Flight a lot, and I'll be riding Gatekeeper next year. Not the most intense or forceful coaster, but still unique and tons of fun. 2) Floorless - Only ridden Kraken, but that is a great ride. Fun, forceful, and very rerideable. 3) Hyper - I've only been on Raging Bull, which was lots of fun but not what I expected it to be. This might be higher if I had ridden something like Apollo's Chariot or Nitro. 4) Inverts - Ridden B:TR (SFGAm) and Dragon Challenge (both sides). They're probably the most intense B&Ms I've ridden, but I just like the ones above better. 5) Flyers - Ridden Manta and Superman: Ultimate Flight. They are kind of average rides, but the pretzel loops are why I love them so much. Will ride a Stand-Up coaster next year (Mantis), but I don't see myself getting a Sit-Down or Dive coaster credit anytime soon.
cwgator Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 1: Inverts- Montu and Afterburn are my top 2. I've also been on Alpengeist, Dueling Dragons & BTR (SFOG). 2: Floorless- Kraken Is my fav coaster. 3: Hypers- I've been on Apollo's Chariot and Goliath (SFOG) 4: Flyers- Manta is superb. S:UF (SFOG) was fun but Manta is much better. 5: Wing- Wild Eagle was nice. 6: Dive- SheiKra & Griffon; SheiKra better IMO. 7: Sitdown- Kumba & Hulk 8: Standup- Georgia Scorcher & Vortex (Carowinds)
Superbatboy Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 Gatekeeper rough? The only rattle I noticed was at the bottom of the first drop (much like Banshee) after that the ride was smooth as butter.
Ride On_17 Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 1. Hypers - I love height, speed, and airtime, plus the open feel to how B&M has their restraints and cars. They are just so much fun. I've been on Diamondback and Nitro. 2. Wing - The only one I've ever been on is GateKeeper, but I really like it, despite many other people not. Now that the restraints don't locked, I love them, plus the whole experience is just so unique and is nothing like any of type of coaster. Very re-ridable and fun. 3. Inverts - I actually prefer never inverts like Banshee over older ones. Don't get me wrong, sometimes the older, more intense ones are great too but overall Banshee blows every other invert I've been on way out of the playing field. Besides Banshee, I've been on Raptor, Dragon Challenge, Talon, and Batman the Ride. 4. Sit down - The only one I've been on is The Incredible Hulkl but I absolutely loved it. Very intense, fun, and smooth. 5. Floorless - Been on Hydra and Bizarro, and they are fun coasters. Very enjoyable. 6. Flyers - I've only been on a Superman clone, and even though it was a fun experience, its elements can be easily forgettable. I really want to ride Manta and Tatsu, but as of now, I prefer Vekoma flyers. 7. Stand ups - Only been on Mantis and hated it. I liked the first half of the ride, but the second half was terrible. I hated the forces in my legs, and it was the only coaster to actually make me queasy. Mantis was the closest I've ever come to throwing up, so ever since I refuse to ride stand ups. They just aren't enjoyable for me. I've never been on a Dive coaster but I hear they're fun.
CPSFMMCW Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 1: Hypers. AIRTIME 2: Flyers. Man, I really like these coasters. so much fun! 3: Inverts. Intense, fast, and fun! 4: Dive. They're alreadyt floorless and have some winged outer seats, so they're already automatically better than floorless coasters and wing coasters in my book. 5: Floorless. fun, but I don't LOVE the whole floorless concept. And it seems like these coasters can be either a hit or miss when it comes to a great ride. 6: Wing. fun gimmick, but forceless in the front. In the back, however, pull some good G's. And I like the near miss effect. 7: Sitdown. Its fine, but not better than floorless. 8: Standup. Intense but I don't like standing up on a coaster.
coasterchitchat Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 1. Hypers AIRTIME!! 2. Inverts for tight turns 3. Flyers because they're fun 4. Wing Coaster. I've ridden GateKeeper and it's Top 5 at Cedar Point, but it's gimmickiey and you have to have that wing over drop in order to make it good. 5. Dive Coaster. It's a good model, but it's too expensive for parks to buy and I've never even ridden one. 6. Floorless. Just took out the floor and made it unique, but parks just don't want to for whatever reason. 7. Sit Down. Nothing special. 8. Stand-Ups. Ughh.... hate these. Parks hate these and one hasn't been built in 15 years. Gimickiee.
livinandrockin Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 credits are also best to worst 1. inverted- (montu, alpengeist, afterburn, silver bullet, raptor, dragon challenge, great bear, flight deck, batman west, batman chicago, batman NJ) how can they not be number one?? so many different layouts, inversions, and forces. each one (other than the batman clones) feels like a whole new experience. vertical loop after the brake run? awseome! (hell, most of them dont even have mid course brake runs!) monstrous lift and inversions? no problem!, etc etc etc 2. flying- (tatsu, S:UF chicago, S:UF NJ) the supermans are ok (hated shockwave so GAm gets the edge), but tatsu blew my firckin mind. i kind of have a pipe dream of flying for real so this pick is biased...i could ride tatsu again and again 3. floorless- (medusa west, kraken, medusa east, scream) i love floorless coasters, so, so smooth. and i cant get enough of the zero g rolls. they are like an out of body experience... definitely want to try out medusa east as bizarro and see if it climbs thre ranks 4. dive- (sheikra) not enough data to make an informed opinion but i feel like these are pretty awesome coasters 5. hypers- (nitro, diamondback, apollos chariot, raging bull) love nitro, rest are so so. prefer the awesomenss of intamin hypers. but like most of you, i wish the clamshells were used on every coaster (cough cough im looking at you skyrush) 6. wing- (gatekeeper) again, not enough data but i dont see it being ranked lower than sit downs. majestic, fast, and smooth. i love the dive loop and keyhole inversion but a little on the boring side after that...and the noodles are a little painful for a big guy like me 7. sit downs- (kumba, hulk, wildfire) kumba was one of the first b&ms i ever rode so theres some nostalgia there. all three coasters have good layouts and are butter smooth 8. Stand ups- (riddlers revenge, mantis, vortex east, iron wolf, vortex west) gimmicky and somewhat painful. however, i really like riddlers, but the rest are way down on my list.
TheDark8 Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 (edited) 1. Inverts- FORCEFULLLLLL 2. Hypers- AIRTIME 3. Sit-Down- COMFORT 4. Wing-Riders- UNIQUE 5. Flyers- FLYYYY 6. Floorless- WITHOUT FLOOR 7. Giga- AWESOMENESS ;-; 8. Dive- EHHH 9. Stand Up- Lets not Edited April 1, 2015 by TheDark8
Jpizzle Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 1. Invert 2. Flying 3. Dive 4. Hyper 5. Sit-Down/Floorless 6. Stand-Up Haven't been on a wing-rider yet, and I feel like I will be banished by putting flying and dives in front of hyper.
Moose Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 I love the intensity of the old sit-down style rides, ie Kumba and Dragon Khan, but i think that is more to do with when they were built rather than the trains. I like the floorless trains and i think an intense old style track with the floorless trains would be amazing.
Sharman19 Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Invert-quite intense, flipping around like a rag-doll. (Raptor, Banshee) Floorless-Haven't been on one, but I'll edit this post in 2015. Sitting-Never been on one. Flyer-Never been on one. Wing-If you like forces, the back is the right seat for you. But if you want a peaceful ride with some brief hangtime, ride in the front. (GateKeeper) Stand Up-Very forceful in the legs. (Mantis) Hyper-Lots & lots of airtime! But I've only been on Diamondback, and the experience is ruined with the seatbelts.
Bedholm Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 1. Stand-up Riddler's my favorite B&M so far and they all provide good airtime 2. Invert/Floorless Same concept to me just different seats waiting to go on Banshee next years 3. Flying other than the pretzel loops there's nothing to them 4. Wing Riders amazing near misses and zero g rolls but are rather tame 5. Hyper coasters I don't get all the hype for them Nitro and Raging Bull are both horrible IMO Never been on sitting or dive yet so can't judge
boldikus Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 out of what I've been on: 1. Hypers 2. Inverts 3. Flying 4. Floorless 5. Stand-up
Mater Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 If they were all as amazing as Tatsu I'd go with flying. Fuck it, I'll go with flying regardless.
chickenbowl Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 These are my preferences and my favorite coasters in each category. And as of now, I've been on every type (although only one Wing Coaster... which I'm ok with) 1. Mega Coasters (Goliath at SFOG / Nitro) 2. Dive Coasters (SheiKra / Griffon) 3. Inverted Coasters (Chinese Fireball / Montu) 4. Flying Coasters (Tatsu / Manta) 5. Floorless Coasters (Kraken) 6. Sitdown Coasters (Hulk's first half / Kumba) 7. Wing Coasters (Wild Eagle) 8. Standup Coasters (Riddler's Revenge) Somehow I've been on every single one except Iron Wolf too... lucky me.
cfc Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 I would say the older inverts (although Banshee is a step in the right direction for the newer ones), followed by the dive coasters.
hey...hey Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 I would say the older inverts (although Banshee is a step in the right direction for the newer ones), followed by the dive coasters. Agree with whole invert subject, however I would put the hypers or sit-downs before the dive coasters.
PVA62 Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 My preferences and the ones I've ridden: 1) Invert (Raptor, Banshee, Alpengeist, Afterburn, Great Bear, Batman, Talon) 2) Hyper (Diamondback, AC, Intimidator, Goliath) 3) Floorless (Dominator, Hydra) 4) Flying (Superman SFOG) 5) Wing (Wild Eagle, Gatekeeper) 6) Standup (Georgia Scorcher, Vortex, Mantis) I really want to ride the Dive Coasters, I think they would be my favorite. Hopefully next year!
