Awesome! Looks like I'll have to double-up my Fall trips to SoCal... One for this event and another a month later for Halloween events. What a horrible 1st world problem! LOL!!

I think this is a great idea, I really like that the new attractions will be open by then (hopefully... ). Hopefully the parks will open late as well!

This should be a very good time, before classes start at Cal Poly.

These dates work well for me! Wasn't expecting the change but I am currently acquiring funds for 2013 in general, so now I know I need to put a little money aside for this! Also convenient this weekend falls after my July birthday, so I can just save up! Can't wait to see old TPR friends and hopefully make some new ones!

I'm going to try to do both days of WCB 2013 and this will be my 1st TPR event ever! So, I'm looking forward to see how amazing a TPR event is.

Sounds awesome ! Sad to see I can't participate (California is far, far away from Montreal)... Please do a La Ronde or Great Escape bash someday so I can participate !

It's like you guy heard my prayers to move the date, I want to go WCB but wouldn't have been able in February or March. With these dates I most likely will be able to go. I'm excited!

These dates are perfect for me as my classes start up later that month. I haven't visited SFMM nor KBF, but this may very well be the time I lose my virginity for both parks. It'll be my first TPR event ever if I go and I'm very excited!

*thinks about a TPR takeover of KBF's new flyers*

If there is Surfside Gliders ERT with snapping, you'll see me there for most of the ERT.

Finally the dates have came out!!!! lol ......... The dates this year are perfect, because summer season will be over, people will have money to spend and that means the crowds at both parks won't be as busy and as what Robb said as well in the main post, both parks brand new attractions will be open ....

Thanks for the update!!!

Perfect dates...and easy travel time...oh wait, we live here! Even better...won't make the mistake of only going to one day this year...

Awesome news! I am over with my family for a big trip to Orlando from Australia between 27th August to October 5th. So that might be a nice little weekend trip to LA

Who is best to fly with internally, and which airport do you choose to fly into LA?

Excited!!!!

Great news! This will be interesting however because most likely by that time of year I'll be working at KBF. Maybe I'll be lucky enough to be the ride op for some TPR ERT? Anyways, i'm definitely excited for this event and will be going. I like the schedule change to align with the new attraction openings. To anyone considering doing this event DO IT, you won't regret it.

Given that both Knott's and SFMM have major new additions opening this year and nothing had been announced about the event, I figured something like this would happen. Much better timing than last year's February event for me (I'm still off school in early September), and since it's not a holiday weekend crowds should be low. It also helps that SFMM will probably close around 6 P.M. so even with night ERT and an early morning at Knott's it will be possible to get a good night's sleep. Unless something significant happens, I'm planning to attend for both days of the event once again.

For anyone planning to attend from out of state and considering extending their visit into a mini-trip, I can tell you that this is one of the best times to visit So Cal's parks because schools are back in session, making weekday crowds non-existant, but it will still be good weather-wise and most parks won't have started their off-season maintenance yet.

AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME! I am really going to try and get the family out there that weekend. We usually make a trip sometime in the summer to go and see the parents/grand parents in Cali so it looks like we'll make it that weekend. Can't wait for more details! Hell, maybe my 1 year old will finally make it to a theme park this year. WOOHOO!
