ajc47 Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 Justin Verlander pitched a no-hitter this afternoon against Toronto. 2nd of this week and 2nd of his career.
BelizeIt Posted May 8, 2011 Posted May 8, 2011 ^He was so close to a 'perfect' game. (Just one walk, late in the game) But a great accomplishment regardless! Good for him!
DiSab Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 Year of the Pitcher 2.0. And hopefully this year someone on the Reds' staff can get in on the action, instead of just almost getting in on the action (like last year).
ajc47 Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 So far the Indians have been quite a nice surprise. Hopefully this will last.
ajc47 Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 ^You know the Giants were in a similar situation last season. People were looking down on them because of their previous season, but they did purty well I think. That being said I'm happy baseball season is almost here because it reminds me of summer and PNC Park of course.  Seems like our predictions for the Pirates and Indians were, thankfully, disproven. Let's hope this continues.
FeelTheFORCE Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 Wow, talk about freefall. I'm glad I didn't get really into the Pirates' season.
Toro#1 Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 woot woot 2 8th inning rally wins for the Mets, back over .500!!
tdub96 Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 True the Pirates did freefall, but I'm sick of all the local people on the radio and stuff like that complaining about how since we're tanking now that the season is automatically a failure. We WERE in FIRST PLACE for a short amount of time in the middle of the season, not the first week of April. We WERE IN CONTENTION for a good period of time this summer. It is for those reasons why, even if we do finish something like 75-87 or 10+ games under .500, I still will not call this year a failure. Â Plus, I think its the fact that after 18 years, people around here finally got the taste of a winning baseball team for a while. And after enjoying that so much to finally start seeing that go to the wayside, they've automatically jumped on the team as a failure. Â Oh well. What can ya do. Â Â Â I wish Pedro Alvarez would hit the ball like they said he could at Vanderbilt.
ajc47 Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 ^ The Indians were in the same freefall and have just now gotten out. 28-42 since a 30-15 start is not the way to go. And I remember last time Pittsburgh made the playoffs (I was 10).
pdcon Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 the G-men are gonna make a strong come back and fight for a WS repeat led by arguably the best pitching staff is baseball....GO GIANTS
Saber Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 the G-men are gonna make a strong come back and fight for a WS repeat led by arguably the best pitching staff is baseball....GO GIANTS Â As much as I'd love to see this happen as a fellow Giants fan, our offense is going to need a major reboot and we're suffering injuries left and right--again. It's not over yet, but it's already been so tough with all of the initial injuries, and now with Wilson and Romo on the 15-day DL... Â Keeping my fingers crossed.

Keeping my fingers crossed. you know, all theses injuries are pretty crappy and we can not catch a break at all with beltran back in the lineup and romo progressing faster than thought to burral is playing in some rehab games in fresno, things are starting to look up, i was at the game tonight. we still got the freak, big daddy cain, MadBum, and vogelSTRONG. al they need is 1 or 2 runs.  plus whats been our teams motto.. DONT STOP BELIEVING.. dont you love this GIANTS torture?
Joe Cool Posted August 25, 2011 Posted August 25, 2011 Screw the Cardinals. They did this last year just stopped playing in August and got so far behind we missed the playoffs. Atleast football is about to start.

We just actually have to SCORE those one or two runs...
Ed Farmer Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 This season has been from hell. Luckily for me, Plan 1A is the Philadelphia Phillies. Â Seriously, how is Adam Dunn having this kind of season? 12 HR is something I could see him having at the end of May, not the beginning of September. The .169 average is so bad, it's in funbad territory.
Chris Benvenuto Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 Detroit Tigers won the AL Central crown tonight in Oakland, who woulda thunk it?
harper83087 Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 Just gotta show a little love for my two teams, GO TIGERS!!! GO D-BACKS!!! I'm not too big into following baseball, I'm a hockey guy, but I go to quite a few d-backs games through work. So growing up watching the tigers and now the new support for the d-backs I'm having a good year
BaMiTsPaT Posted September 22, 2011 Posted September 22, 2011 Yankees clinched today! Now to see who gets the AL wild card.
Ed Farmer Posted September 22, 2011 Posted September 22, 2011 Hopefully it's either Tampa Bay or Anaheim. Watching the Ray's offense since the Boston series has been tough, especially since Boston just dropped 3/4 to the mighty Orioles.
dammie16@vt.edu Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 Makes me so happy to see Boston have to resort to rooting for the Yankees
osm Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 Hold on Red Sox! Â Rays down 6-0, Sox up 3-2. Â I feel dirty rooting for the Yanks, but oh well.
Chris Benvenuto Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 Tigers will face them Yankees in the ALDS. Tigers in 4, repeat of 2006 and we've won the regular season series against them!!
