  1. First off, as everyone said these are absolutely spectacular photos! I went there this past summer while Toy Story Land was still being built so it's great to see it open! I really love how they decorated the place it looks downright gorgeous for the holidays. I will add on to the fact that normally HKDL is definitely not this crowded but it's good to see the crowds visiting for the holidays. You find it odd when you visit mid-summer and there's never a line for Space Mountain...
  2. All I know is that whatever element it is (named or not), it looks awesome and proves the sheer intensity of this ride should make it a great element of a great ride (regardless of the element's name). These construction pictures are very exciting. I have not been to Hershey since I was a mere child, but they keep getting awesome projects from Intamin making me wonder why I've never tried to make a trip back.
  3. If a bill like that actually gets through I'd be shocked. The amusement industry is without a doubt one of the safest. Accidents are few and far in between, fatalities even more rare, and of course there's the whole "no cause-and-effect relationship yet."
  4. This will be hands down the scariest ride I have ever been on once it opens. 400 feet is just intimidating, so I'm actually curious as to how many people will be scared away just for fear's sake. The double drop tower, although very extreme, will be a great addition to the line-up at Six Flags. With the closest being Supreme Scream and Tower of Terror, this will take the cake as the best drop tower in SoCal.
  5. Once again, whoever said Six Flags did made sense? Still happy they're getting this ride, although two boomerangs will be just plain weird. Almost zero point to riding the original, just a waste of steel.
  6. Need we say more?!? Six Flags will take great capacity rides and make them not run as well anyways. So low capacity means it will just be super low capacity. But god damn... 400 feet of pure... Intamin... FREE FALL!!! Oh sweet baby Jesus!
  7. Boulder Dash. Eddie Van Halen or Jimmy Page?
  8. i305. No question. Montu or Alpengeist?
  9. No way. I will always miss that 200 foot free-fall backwards. However, I do have the benefit of attending college in Boston.
  10. As much as I'd love to see this happen as a fellow Giants fan, our offense is going to need a major reboot and we're suffering injuries left and right--again. It's not over yet, but it's already been so tough with all of the initial injuries, and now with Wilson and Romo on the 15-day DL... Keeping my fingers crossed. you know, all theses injuries are pretty crappy and we can not catch a break at all with beltran back in the lineup and romo progressing faster than thought to burral is playing in some rehab games in fresno, things are starting to look up, i was at the game tonight. we still got the freak, big daddy cain, MadBum, and vogelSTRONG. al they need is 1 or 2 runs. plus whats been our teams motto.. DONT STOP BELIEVING.. dont you love this GIANTS torture? Who said torture ever went out of style?!? Still tough to watch... We just actually have to SCORE those one or two runs...
  11. Apple! Mur-i-cah! El Toro or Balder?
  12. And lose one of the best rides in the park? There's good room for a Giga, but I HIGHLY doubt they'll give up Goliath to put it in. I would love to see a Giant Frisbee! That would be a wonderful addition! It may not please the thrill-seekers as much but hell they're unique and fun enough.
  13. ^^ Very sad, but I do like to keep hope. Maybe an investment in refurbishing a lot of the buildings and infrastructure would pay off in the long run, but would they regain the GP just because the park looks nicer and is a much better place to go to? The problem with the GP is that this park mainly caters to only one group of people: thrill seekers. Try as hard as you want in the family department, but I just don't think they can get over the fact that what's already installed is an adrenaline junkie haven. Most people still regard this park as a dump, but even with everything looking "that" much nicer, the rides will forever and always draw teens/young adults looking to ride the giant roller coaster. As much as I'd love to see this park looking nice, the family department will never compete with what's already at Disneyland/KBF. Give me a few years and then I'll be begging for that mega-coaster.
  14. X2... But I say this with regret as they have yet to turn the sound back on. So it's really not that much better. Black Mamba or Nemesis Inferno?
  15. Daily Show. Simpsons or Family Guy?
  16. Medusa, hands down. Xcelerator or Storm Runner?

  18. Let's not forget that the leading rumor even before Vu was being closed was a drop tower being built for next year. It may not be the "flat" everyone wants/needs, but it's certainly a change of pace from the addition of roller coaster after coaster after coaster after coaster.... I just don't see SFMM adding something major for another couple of years. 2011 was a massive investment for the park (and I don't know how much the average drop tower costs), but I just don't see another $12-13 million coaster being added in the near future.
  19. I know it's the train that does get rehabbed a lot every year, so the new train would not be a bad idea, just hopefully it doesn't change the awesome experience Vu already is. Not to mention the fact that SFNE has the winter off (unlike SFMM), there is proper time to do rehab on the old/"new" trains if needed/more time to do it, hopefully keeping the downtime to a minimum during season. On the note of removing other rides from SFMM, I don't see it as very likely unless it is Scream. Scream could do well somewhere else (I'm not the biggest fan, but it's still a half decent ride), freeing up that parking lot again! Goliath is staying, that's easily one of the top 5 most popular rides in the park and generates a huge wait during busy days.
  20. As amazing as that would be, I doubt SFNE would be willing to give up their best roller coaster, especially when it's one of the best in the world. Intamin seems to be more on board with SFMM recently, but I think we're all just waiting for whatever they're going to announce. Be it a drop tower, Blitz, Mega-lite, there's going to be something new and exciting for SFMM within the next couple of years for sure.
  21. Look at what they did with Tatsu. They built a full circuit roller coaster on top of the mountain, with a total change in elevation of 260-odd feet. Considering they had to redo the exit from Roaring Rapids, remove a piece of track on Revolution, and shut down the waterfall to build a footer, MM can find space to put a ride anywhere. Now, there may not be as much space in the Deja Vu/Mr. Six/Graveyard area, but there's definitely enough for a custom Mega-lite (which I would not complain about), a short Blitz, hell, even a Eurofighter. There's always an idea I've had about building this massive out-and-back coaster along the back edge of the park; probable, no; plausible, yes. Honestly, I don't see MM adding another big coaster project for a year or two, but I'm going to wait and see if/where the drop tower is being done. EDIT: Nevermind, Elissa beat me to it.
  22. Agreed. Deja Vu has got to be the best boomerang out there (made by Vekoma at least). And now Six Flags New England will have 3 lovely Vekomas... Awesome-not. Also total article fail from the LA Times, pretty sure he said that SFNE already has a boomerang inverted car ride... As much as we'd all love to combine Boomerang and Mind Eraser into one giant pile of steel gunk, I just don't think that's realistic. We also should send him to ride one of the other Deja Vus and ask him which one he prefers. Now the sitting/waiting for what SFMM decides to do with this plot of land.
  23. So true. Rode DD back in Thanksgiving '09 and loved it. Not only are they great intense B&M Inverts on their own, but the dueling element really sells the ride. I mean, Lightning Racer, Gwazi, and other racers pull off the racing like they should, but having the feeling of "OH MY GOD THEY'RE COMING RIGHT AT ME" just doesn't compare. Not to mention getting rid of the main design element of the ride... Now you're just going to airtime pop over a Zero G Roll and fly down a straightaway for absolutely no reason...
  24. Considering Green Lantern was the most recent build, you're pretty much right that they have not built a "new" roller coaster recently. With SFNO and Kentucky Kingdom not opening in the foreseeable future, Six Flags can at least salvage what's left there to give to a park that either doesn't have that type of ride or needs a new one. It's much better than letting the rides rot away. The "Giant Inverted Boomerang" move still baffles me a bit, but SFNE could use a big roller coaster besides Bizarro (I barely count Batman...). A surprise SFMM announcement could still be around the corner, AKA one that doesn't involve a drop tower or extending Vu to 267 feet tall.
