Some friends and I are going to try to score some tickets for opening day at AT&T Park...not only are the Giants taking on the Dodgers, but it's also my 52nd birthday...this will be the 3rd time the Giants home opener will take place on my birthday, and both of the other times it was pretty easy to find tickets outside the park...but of course, the team was coming of a WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONSHIP!!!

Sorry bout the caps, but it's still a great feeling that they won it in my lifetime...

The Tigers have performed well so far in Spring Training, we have along way to go until September. But, the way they're playing gives me faith that we'll make a post-season run this year.

Our pitching staff seems to be doing alright, it's the just matter of cashing in on runs and not leaving men so often on base. We also have to focus on the AL Central this season, and take the season series from the Twins and White Sox. Indians and Royals are pesky too, have to keep an eye out on those two as well.

Go Tigers Go!

Good luck with that one. I would imagine opening day tickets would be very hard to get, especially with the WS win. Our opening day for the Rangers was sold out before they even went on sale to the public. They had to run a lottery for some fans just to get the chance to buy tickets. Not many people won that lottery. I didn't. I go every year to opening day, its tradition, and with us just winning the AL pennant people went nuts. I bought my tickets on Ebay. Stub Hub was starting at like 114 just for standing room only.

I wouldn't wait long, stub hub might be your best bet if they games sold out already!

Opening Day following a Championship is not to be missed.

After the White Sox won, my split-season tickets included Opening Day. There was a 2 hour rain delay that turned a sold-out crowd into literally a few hundred by the time play resumed towards 11pm (IIRC). I've never seen the place so empty, it was surreal. Jim Thome jacked one out into the empty bleachers in his first game as a Sox and they beat Cleveland. It was my favorite time at the park, even moreso than all the playoff games, and Mark Buehrle's no-hitter against the Rangers (he walked Sammy Sosa only to promptly pick his ass off). The only thing I could imagine being more fun would be attending a win to clinch the World Series.

Opening Day is Thursday! Any last minute predictions?

Hmmm, off the top of my head....

- A big market team will win it all.

- Several mid-level teams will compete.

- The smaller markets will be forgotten.

- A simple beer and hot dog at the game will set you back $45.

- Pittsburgh will develop new talent to trade to a contender.

- Derek Jeter will sport an early 90's high top fade....for the 17th straight season (a MLB record)

- Small animals will begin nesting in Brian Wilson's ridiculous looking beard.

- Your local minor league team will easily surpass the Marlin in ticket sales.

- Eddie Perez will continue to be the biggest douchebag bullpen coach in the league.

Finally here. Taking off early from work tomorrow to catch the Sox opener in (snowy) Cleveland on tv. MLB Schedule makers are a group I'll never understand. Teams from the north should open the season on the road against teams in warmer climates, at least until mid-April.
