Pepper
Hey everybody! This thread is simple! Rather than having a million little threads about everything that goes on at Heide Park, this thread is designed to consolidate it all into one user-friendly thread. Feel free to use it to post updates, trip reports, questions, comments, and of course, general discussion. There's a lot of mysterious things around this attraction. Nobody knows exactly what it will be. Other 'new in 2006-attractions' are not really mysterious, but Vliegende Hollander is very mysterious compared with the other new rides. It's going to be a watercoaster, combined with a short darkride in a building. There aren't many coasters that also have a darkridesection. Nobody knows the tracklayout or the theming, only that it will be about the legend of the Flying Dutchman is certain. It's also the first ride that will be build completely by KumbaK coasters. Take a look at the RCDB-entry and the thread on Themepark.nl (in Dutch) What do you think of this ride? DutchCoasterFan
I don´t expect to much from it ... It´s gonna be very short and the budget is cut in half!
Damien666
Will it have a good darkride part like the other darkrides they have? No clue. Will it have the best soundtrack? I don't think so. Villa Volta has the best soundtrack at Elfting, does anyone agree with me?
Mystery
The Efteling in The Netherlands is building a new attraction for 2006, A watercoaster by KumbaK Coasters. It will be themed to the story of The Flying Dutchman. Some pictures, not taken by me but by various members of Themepark.nl (more information and blueprints; go to http://www.eftelist.nl/, press on "Vliegende Hollander" and on "Tekeningen" Dutch only, sorry guys!) Another shot of the lifthill Photo by: Yves (zwavelstokje, member of Themepark.nl) First track piece! Outside the factory, this is the lifthill! Looks a bit B&M Photo by: Yves (zwavelstokje, member of Themepark.nl) Overview of the building. There will be a coaster bit on the left but nothing to see yet there! Photo by: Gerben, Member of Themepark.nl Side view, The large white thing will become a tower. Photo by: Gerben, Member of Themepark.nl Front view, the castle thing in the front will be lifted on the tower on the left, not finished yet Photo by: Gerben, Member of Themepark.nl

Cerberus
Are the park not releasing much information about this on purpose or something? I heard a mention of it a while back, but then nobody seemed to care when the lack of updates or information got them too frustrated :? So far it is looking really awesome! But I still can't find it in myself to pay any particular interest... I really should be more excited about this class installation, but there's just something about it (Or the marketing of it) that really isn't screaming out for my attention =/ Cerberus
Mystery
The Efteling is very quite about it. A while ago, a construction worker died while building a building, the roof collapsed. Taking pictures from outside the park is hard, but I know some guy's who are trying to take some, so maby photoupdates. When the park will re-open again the ride will be open. Mystery
The Efteling released some info; * If needed you can stay dry, so the attraction can be used the whole year. The Efteling will stay open every single day of the year, now It's closed in the winter. * You are gonna: walk, fly, ride a coaster, SPLASH! * You are part of the darkride, no scenes, you take part in a story * There will be some spectaculair special-effects! * You can watch the pre-show as 'not rider' * The que is also the preshow, with special effects! * On the boats there will be a little lion, it's looking into the boat. It's rumored that there will hapen something with is eyes I think it sounds very good! I'll update when I get more info EDIT: 2 reeeeaaal bad pictures of the presentation: Sideview, with the tower Front of the building

Powermage
the Efteling has changed a lot, the latest ride 'Pandadroom' (4D Cinema) had a lot of budget cut's on theming. it is still a nice thing, but hopefully the Efteling will spend a lot of money on De Vliegende Hollander (the Flying Dutchmen )
