P. 322: "Georgia Gold Rusher" announced for 2025

Hopefully it will be expanded in the coming years. Also, why has the Skull Island okay structure been at the park since around 2005 when the waterpark is opening 9 years later?

It wouldn't surprise me if the park doesn't expand it next year but does a large expansion in 2016.

Unfortunately, that wouldn't surprise me much easier. With them valuing White Water at $5 on the season pass, I'd imagine it has a limited life span. I expect a chunk of the new waterpark expansion to be relocated stuff from White Water (like the Tornado, Typhoon Twister, and maybe the Cliffhanger/Run-A-Way-River tower), plus a few new rides.

I'd certainly hope for a new coaster before a waterpark expansion (particularly an RMC or something with a good launch), but my guess is the water park will come first.

I just really hate water parks that are in the back of coaster parks, because I don't want to have to walk all the way from my car to the front entrance (which is already really far at SFoG) and then back to the waterpark area to stuff my towel and stuff in a locker before I can go ride any rides. And then after I'm done at the water park & want to ride more coasters, I have to leave my stuff there again & return at the end of the night before I can leave. Because it's either that or having to walk 2 miles to my car and back to drop off my stuff so I can ride more rides. It's just woefully inefficient. I significantly prefer parks where the water park either A) has a separate entrance altogether (such as Cedar Point or Kings Island) or B) has the waterpark entrance right near the front gate of the theme park (such as Dorney or Darien Lake).

Not sure if this is possible, but the park could bring back the second entrance and make it near the back of the park and it would be close to the older Parking lot. It would help a lot with hurricane harbour and would keep front gate lines down. I don't think anyone wants to walk all the way to the back of the park if they want to go to the waterpark.

That's very true, but they won't do that for one very big reason: $$$$$.

That whole entrance plaza ("The Promenade") was built (and the other entrance closed) for the sole purpose of funneling people past shops for them to spend money as they leave. They aren't going to give people a shortcut to get back to their cars at the end of the day (or go grab lunch/dinner/water from their car) because they want them to spend more money inside the park.

Remember guys, the park said that HH was the beginning of a multi-year, multi-million dollar investment to SFOG in which I believe will see the construction of a brand new coaster (or Georgia Cyclone conversion to TT) and several expansions to HH.

Having recently taken my second trip to SFOG, let me give my review of the park.

Backstory - I live in Ohio. My spring break happened to coincide with Banshee Media Day. So we did a double trip - stop at Media Day before continuing to Georgia. Banshee was fun, but that isn't the point of this. We arrived in Georgia and rode all the credits, including the 2 that I failed to get on the previous trip - Ninja and Canyon Blaster. Here is my little review of the coasters and major rides-

Batman: The Ride - Very intense. A little too intense, actually. Still very fun. The forcefulness is much higher than Banshee (not to say that Banshee isn't good - it is and it will get better as it "warms up.") I think it would be interesting to see the ride's first half up to the second loop combined with airtime near the end, but that's just me. Airtime on an invert is one of my pipe dreams, I guess.

Dahlonega Mine Train - Great family ride. Besides that, it is just a typical mine train, just slower and with more tight turns.

Dare Devil Dive - Fun ride, but has a LOT of mechanical issues and a relatively low capacity. The ride ops seemed to make the most of it, however, and ran the ride at a nice pace (probably about the fastest it could run, considering that cars had to slow down on the lift to wait for the next one to clear the MCBR.) You gotta love the transition from a positive-g ride to a slow roll at the end.

Georgia Cyclone - Certain conditions (such as light rain, one-train operations) make this ride a ride to remember. In the front or back - particularity the back - a good ride on it can be one of the most intense woodie experiences ever. It is a bit painful though and the seats are narrow - at least for me.

Scorcher - Forceful standup with an unusual layout. Average ride, not horrible. I can't really think of much else to say.

Goliath - As an airtime-centric ride, I like this quite a bit. Even if it is not Intamin-level, the ride is fun and unusual among hypers for its helix, lack of MCBR, and terrain differences.

GASM - Can range anywhere from an airtime machine to a boring ride. Experiment with seats and don't sit over wheels.

Mindbender - Ride in the far ends of the train for best results. And tighten your lap bar, especially if you are a first time rider - the ride has several unexpected airtime moments.

Ninja - Actually not the horrible pain machine everybody makes it out to be, although it certainly does have its moments of crappiness.

Superman - Pretzel loops are incredibly intense, and despite a rather monotonous layout after it, Superman still can deliver.

Canyon Blaster - Good family coaster for kids not quite up to Dahlonega. What else do I say?

Acrophobia - Despite difficulty getting in and pain in the thighs while braking, it is a great ride and feels very intense. On a side note, the ride ops sometimes would grant permission to use cameras aboard the ride. I imagine this is outside of their authority.

^ Let's see if anyone here can guess it. So you don't have to go through the process of going to Facebook, this was the post.

We have a MAJOR announcement set for Monday! But first, we want to see if you can guess what it is by playing Hangman. The secret word is _ _ _ T _ _ _ _ _. (2 words, 9 letters).

Maybe an additional slide for Hurricane Harbor that hasn't been announced yet? I am not expecting this to be a new coaster or major ride, since Six Flags waits until the fall to announce those.

Typically they wait, but maybe they're jumping on the "announcing early" bandwagon like the European parks.

As a side note, any idea why parks are announcing their rides so early nowadays?... Is it cause with all this social media, they know their plans will get leaked early anyway, so start announcing before digging starts? That's the only reason I can think of, as at my home park, the forum/fan site has leaked the plans for the last 3 rides.

The letter before the t is an 'R' It was revealed on SFOG's facebook page. What ever this will be, its tan and yellowish. Possibly a pirate/sandy themed water play area?

I think it's an RMC.

I know they said "major," but I'd guess it would just be something they can quickly add for this season. As always, it may not even be a ride.

they had a survey a few weeks ago talking about a game pass (season pass for games) and something that sounded like a fresh healthy restaurant. In both surveys it asked if I would be interested if it started this year.

Could be one of those even though a ride would be awesome

It doesn't look like anyone guessed our secret word correctly on Thursday. So here's another letter in our game of Hangman for our MAJOR announcement on Monday.

_ _ R T _ _ _ _ _ (2 words, 9 letters)

Next letter added, 2 days remain...
