Skycoastin Steve
You guys can expect pretty regular construction updates on this puppy once it starts going up. The last time I checked, they still hadn't cleared any land out, but I imagine that should start pretty soon.
Hercules
I've been holding this one in for a while, granted, it has been speculated and known for a little while now. I saw the blue prints last year. This will be a great addition to their expansion!
Guy T. Koepp
I thought they were getting one of those GCI "Big Fun" woodies? Or is that going elsewhere?
eddytheviper
I thought they were getting one of those GCI "Big Fun" woodies? Or is that going elsewhere? I think that was speculation after IAAPA (Was it there that we first thought this?) that 'one of the Orlando area parks' had "bought" one. It would appear that maybe at first they had intentions of purchasing one but then thought to go more all out on it and get a customized ride, yay! Skycoastin Steve
^I think that was the original plan, but they said they were changing it to make it more extreme.
dragonskeep
I was by the park today for Paratroopering and a burger, pretty good burger actually. No signs of anything happening except a small plot has been cleared by the additional parking. Maybe temporary parking or clearing for the green track expansion. Not any sign of what will grace the land by March of next year. For you folks not good at math, that is 10 short months. I will gladly roll out my tools and the Highlander to help them get started if they need me. The Splashtacular signage has been taken down and is sitting on the floor. THe waterpark may be pending some expected success from phase one. I'm doing my part, 10.50 for the burger 6 bucks for Paratroopering and 2.25 for basketball, I always stash the tickets I win for someone to find so be on the lookout. DenDen
Reminds me of a modernized "West View Dips". Looks awesome!!!!!
coasterfreak101
^I think that was the original plan, but they said they were changing it to make it more extreme. The original layout they released was very similar to this one, but everything was more drawn-out and less twisted. A 'Big Fun' would've never fit in with their master plan for the expansion, with the Vekoma and the Skycoaster already taking up a chunk and requiring the GCI to fill this L-shaped spot. I think that was just forum speculation after IAAPA. This layout is basically an extreme-ized version of the original, not a total deviation from previous plans. Movieguy
This looks like a really exciting prospect for Florida, and GCI's already impressive arsenal of coasters...let's just hope the park doesn't let it go to s***, the way Busch apparently did with Gwazi (Only basing that on what I've heard.)
ThunderPup44
The problem with Gwazi (and wooden coasters in Florida) is the year round heat and humidity requires that a park devote more time and dollars to MAINTAINING the wooden track. Wood breathes. Expands and contracts. It needs care. The Dania Beach Hurricane rode smooth and fast during its lifetime (sadly cut short) because they took care of it,
SharkTums
^Yeah, but my theory is that if the Dania Beach Hurricane people could maintain a woodie in one of the worst climates on Earth, surely Fun Spot can do it!

Except word on the street at IAAPA was that an "Orlando park bought a Big Fun." Now, that could have totally been a rumor gone wrong, but I heard it from no less then 10 different people at the show, some of them whom I'd trust to know their stuff. End of the day, it doesn't matter. It's great to see this getting put up about 4 miles from our house! --Robb
coasterfreak101
^Ah, didn't realize that it spread from people at IAAPA itself. Interesting. Wonder where it's headed / if it's headed somewhere soon! But I'm with you, and I'm jealous that it's not four miles from mine!
ccfmioa
Looks awesome! Evan and Jeff pump out some great stuff at GCI. I'm always glad to say I went to school with Jeff when ever I see one of his creations. Now if Cedar Fair would get a GCI for that hulk step son they own.. I'd be happy! disneyfan1313
So exciting! I think this is a great fit not only for Fun Spot, but something that Orlando and Florida sorely needed!
Hilltopper39
^ I agree with you 100%, I got a feeling when this project is complete that Fun Spot will end up being a really nice option for the locals.

Legoguy1395
Hmm.. I wonder if this will have the new softer restraints, or the old hard restraints?
crazywolf88
^ I love restraints! And the concept art as well, could not forget that. This looks like the most bad ass mini wood so far and by GCI mind you. Funny thing is, like the B&M wingrider's inverting drops, that double up to double down must have been in some of our heads as well. It certainly was in mine! palmerleeberry
After seeing the new and improved layout for WHITE LIGHTING!, you can say that I was BIG TIME! Like I stated in an earlier post "This is how amusement parks are born, folks!" My only concern is that I hope Fun Spot Action Park has plenty of parking, because I have a feeling that they are going to need it BIG TIME! "Please come to bed because I need your head to lay upon mine BIG TIME!"
jedimaster1227
^I haven't the slightest clue why the new layout would make you laugh... Or why none of your posts can me made without at least two colors in use. Seriously folks. We're getting a GCI in Orlando! It is only more awesome that they've updated the original layout to include even more moments of airtime! There really isn't anything about this scenario to be laughed at or criticized. Especially when you've got such successful projects like Kentucky Kingdom, Freestyle Music Park and Six Flags New Orleans all reopening, plus the Big Dipper being rebuilt by Prince Desmond--all of which while sound in theory, can't seem to gain any momentum! palmerleeberry
^Hmm . . . I thought that this smiley was the laughing one and this smiley meant that I was blown away. As for the colors in my post, I just like it to use it a lot whenever I post. Looking at page after page of text in plain yellow text can become boring after a while, so I thought some colorful text will break up the mood. Besides, I do go through all the trouble and type in the color codes by hand. By doing so, I have discovered that there are many colors available to be use that isn't listed when you click on the Font colour box. And finally, I do it so I can get noticed. it or it, I'll still keep coloring my text whenever I feel the mood is right. Okay, I should add one more thing before I close - WHITE LIGHTNING!!! Can you survive its strike? "If you want me, then I'll be in bed waiting for you."
Real
Hmm . . . I thought that this smiley was the laughing one and this smiley meant that I was blown away.] If you hold your mouse over the icons, it tells you what they are. The second one is actually LMAO. It shows you that on the side too if you hold the mouse over it.
