mike541x
I missed Cruefest last night. Same, it was raining. The rain actually wasn't the reason. My friend said her mom would take us, but at the last minute couldn't for some reason. She felt guilty that her mom backed out at the last minute Other Rant:I don't know anyone in my Chemistry class. Thelegendarymatthew
^I don't know anyone in most of my class's. I'm in rooms filled with kids who came from the other middle school.
onewheeled999
So my school was one of the 10 middle/high schools in the state to win a free presentation called Teen Truth Live. It's about school violence and bullying, and it was really disturbing. They had surveillance footage from the Columbine shooting, along with a 911 call also from it. And throughout it, a few people next to me were laughing. LAUGHING. What's wrong with this world.
christianscoasters
Last weekend, my step mom made me mad, like always. Wednesday, I got in a car wreck. She didn't even bother asking if I was okay (I'm up and walking and what not, just really sore and going to the chiropractor soon.) We're such a great family ... But I've made the decision to stop going there and seeing them. I'll just visit my dad from time to time.
Guest
Rant=I hate how our society is becoming so fat. I mean, take Target, which is a grocery store. It has FOOD on sale for you to take home and prepare, but people can't wait that long, so they go to the little food court thing in front and get MORE food to eat NOW

christianscoasters
My step mom had the nerve to tell my mom she isn't going to treat me as good as her own kids. I'm appalled. It's one thing to do that, but to just straight up admit it? To my MOM? Wow, I've noticed a lot of my step-mom ranting in this thread, Lol. ebl
^ I've never had to deal with that, but it is hard when your mom and/or dad has married someone else and you have to try and fit in somewhere. Ranting is normal under what may be a very trying time for you. Eric
jason10
I couldn't rant and open myself to any other place but here. Not even to my family because I just don't want to bring it up but how can doctors be so wrong. They told my grandad that he had about 2 years to live and and now, they say he has a few days. Plus, my mum and gran don't want me visiting him anymore because they want me to remember him as the man he used to be. Fair enough but I wish I knew that the last time I saw him would be the last. It's not really a rant to anyone; just a rant at life and fairness. It just isn't fair. He was so healthy and buzzing and within the space of a few moths, he is totally reliant on other people. It's not fair.
ebl
^ Sorry to hear about that. If there's any way possible, go see your grandpa and say your goodbyes to him. You will never regret doing that, and your memories of him will be of the happier times. Believe me. Eric
mike541x
I'm in a good mood right now, but my only rant is how I managed to run over a nail in my school parking lot while leaving last week. But the tire is fixed.
cooksta77
Just found out the Station Fire in the Palos Verdes area was caused by arson. What is wrong with some people? Why would you start a fire that just killed 2 firefighters days ago and burned peoples houses and valuables to the ground? As a person who's house was almost burned to the ground by an arson started fire back in 2003 this is just stupid! RIP to the Firefighters that gave there lives trying to save others! onewheeled999
So Obama's having a speech directed squarely toward students tomorrow at 9. We were told that every classroom at Sheldon would be tuning into it. And they sent around a form for parents to sign in case they want their student to not watch it for some stupid reason. He's our president, people, it's not like you can just ignore everything he says for four years. And apparently some parents have actually filled them out and turned them in, which just baffles me. ebl
^ I don't understand the whole thing about needing to get parental permission to listen to the president of our country. The only issue I'd have is if he was feeding some hidden political agenda to our kids, like the "benefits" of socialism, or his personal views on something, or anything like that. Or if he went off on some weird tangent. To me, it's almost like "don't trust the President...him is teh EEVIL!!1!" Eric
BeemerBoy
^ Yeah this issue just absolutely baffles me. "Your families, your teachers, and I are doing everything we can to make sure you have the education you need to answer these questions," Obama said. "I'm working hard to fix up your classrooms and get you the books, equipment and computers you need to learn. But you've got to do your part too. "So I expect you to get serious this year. I expect you to put your best effort into everything you do. I expect great things from each of you. So don't let us down -- don't let your family or your country or yourself down. Make us all proud. I know you can do it." THIS is what some parents didn't want their children hearing??????????????????? WTF?!?!?!?! Here's a novel idea, parents and educators. Why not let the students listen and then form their own opinions on what they heard? Hey, parents could even sit down over dinner and discuss it with their children. I know, crazy idea, right? monsterfan99
^ When a political party is dying and their only way to stay afloat is to attack a president, that is when the whole issue happens. (The following rant is directed at everyone, not just one political party as all sides are guilty.) Also, letting kids form an opinion is a dying idea. In public schools, some kids have uniforms, are told standard test are what matters and get no real education. And people wonder why a kid gets to college and has no idea how to write a paper or think on their own. Parents are too lazy and/or stupid to help their kids. Even worse, they blame the teachers, because god knows they are out to get their kid. Mean while the parents, who should have no been allowed to even think of having a kid, have pleanty of time to sit at home and watch TV. But that's ok, the fact they were no loved as a child is why they have 6 kids and live in a F'n suburb where there is no need to have more then 2 kids. It is a sad sight and even worse for the teachers who still give a damn about teaching the kids. Hell, some schools are starting to lower teacher pay, then give them bonuses based on how their kids do on government test. Way to go America. The public wants low taxes, statical results and everything now. You have sold the future of anyone under 25 away for a few toys and a good feeling. But that's ok, the little bastards are too drugged up on "be quiet and pay attention" medication to notice.
netdvn
After hearing all this political talk, I've considered perhaps creating a TPR debate forum so everyone can get controversial issues off their chest. Other forums manage to pull off debate sections without any trouble and I think it would be a welcome addition here as long as the discussion remains civil. Rant time: I accidentally missed math class today because of Facebook. Nothing too bad as I can make up the work, but if I miss another class, I might fail so I can't afford doing that... Also... I'm still upset over Wolf's closing.

Meteornotes
After hearing all this political talk, I've considered perhaps creating a TPR debate forum so everyone can get controversial issues off their chest. No. Yeah. This doesn't work here. There are many, many, MANY places on the internet for you to discuss "controversial" things if you so desire. This is not one of them, as these sorts of discussions just escalate out of control eventually, and create more work for Robb, Elissa and the mods. So we stick to the coaster/park talk and other less controversial subjects. Seems to work pretty well. dt
ebl
The entire text of Obama's speech can be found here. As I said on another forum, show me the controversy. Eric P.S. And I'm not a die-hard Obama supporter, either.
