OzCatter Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 That people just wont listen to me, and wont get their feelings hurt when they learn the truth about a bad person
RctInfinity Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 Arg... Â As much as I like SheiKra and I am very excited about riding it floorless, I don't really like the appeal of the new trains. When SheiKra had a floor, it had that little "bird" in the front of the train, remember? Now, basically, there's nothing that reminds you of the African Savanna Hawk on the trains. I used to love those gigantic bars, too. Â Another "OMG that is gay" situation happened to me recently. This guy I barely know wants to listen to my iPod and I denied. All of a sudden he's saying "Meh, it probably has gay music on it." Â WHAT THE HECK? The only possible way that sentence could be accurate is if the song is "happy," because that word has two meanings. I want to get some sense into my peers' minds so badly. Â I'm also sick of people saying "your mom is Michael Jackson." Grrr... I would be pretty much pissed off if my name was used as a diss. What about the people that actually like the songs by him? I would be embarrassed.
odene497 Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 Why is it cool to act "ghetto"? A few people moved in across the street from me a few days ago, and today there was a group of black kids in the street, arguing with this like 50 year old white lady on the porch. Then a white kid probably in his lower twenties comes out, repeatedly yells to the crowd "I AIN'T NO LAME A$$ WHITE BOY!!!" Then he threw a girl around his age inside and slammed the door on the older lady. Â But what's wrong with being white? why do so many white people feel they need to act "black" to be cool? Why can't people just be happy with their race? Â I hope none of that sounds racist, it's kind of hard to talk about without it sounding it.
RctInfinity Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 ^ I totally agree. My school is basically 80% "ghetto," since it's next to one. I'm really tired of people saying "look at that white boy!" and some people of other races having to act "ghetto" because they know they would be made fun of otherwise.
Scaparri Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 I've lost half my personality and I don't even know why. I used to be so social and open. I cracked jokes all the time and could make conversation for hours. I feel like I'm pretty shy now, and fairly reclusive. And anytime I make a joke or something now, I just instantly think/realize, "wow, that was lame." I don't know why either. I suppose some of it probably stems from constantly switching schools which has made it a little difficult to make solid friends. Who knows. I just worry too much. Whatever.
odene497 Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 American Idol is stupid. Â My cousin Chelsey tried out today, and didn't make it through. Now this is the round before your in front of Randy, Paula, and Simon. They only pick 500 people from each city to actually get that far. Now my cousin is an excellent singer, she got best female vocalist in Georgia in her age group. This is her here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wnhgBkJT2LQ Â So that means that they allow people who are weirdos and horrible singers through (The people you see get judged by Randy, Paula, and Simon) and take up space in the 500 people allowance, yet they deny people with real talent.
CommanderLock Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 Because people want to see the weirdos get kicked off. Makes for "good" TV. Why do the genuinely good shows get replaced by copycat shows? Like all the crime TV shows? They're all the same to me.
Meteornotes Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 The rumor has been going around for years that the "talented" people that end up on the show are picked beforehand, and the only people they're looking for in the auditions are the ones that suck so they can be made fun on the show. Makes sense to me. Â American Idol is everything that is wrong with the music and television industry. Â dt
disneygurlz2s Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 ^ I have read pretty much that same thing... that they will choose a moderately talented person, who just happens to look good or who has an interesting "backstory", over someone who is very talented but that would be "boring" to the audience. Also, there's a number of talented people who make it through several rounds that you never see in the audition phase because 1) it's more fun to watch the losers and 2) they are talented but not who the producers necessarily want to see make it out of the top 20 or whatever, so by not showing them they can't build a "fan base" Â Shari

CoastersNSich Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 Even though I have been an Ohio resident for my entire life, I am being assessed the Non-Resident fee for tuition at Ohio State. I am entering tOSU this fall as a grad student in Architecture. AND, even though I got a recruitment scholarship for being an Ohio Resident, I'm being assessed this fee... AARRGGHH!!
Purplepills Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 I have to pay $3 to print my own six flags ticket using my own paper and ink and everything?! Damn you.
RctInfinity Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 GAH... Â My TV sucks. It keeps blinking on and off. It annoys the heck out of me. Â My computer monitor sucks. It keeps changing colors into yellow or magenta, and I have to adjust it before it does that AGAIN. Â I'm excited yet peeved that I'm going to La Ronde next June...it seems so long.

I'm no longer being assessed the out of state fee, but I won't get the funds from my loans/scholarship until after I've moved to Columbus. At least the true wrong was finally righted!  Next rant: WCPO Channel 9... Stop Capitalizing The First Letter Of Every Single Word On Your Damn Ticker And Pick A Font Other Than Arial... you guys probably have Macs with better fonts like Helvetica and even Franklin, which you used to use...
