Try being in north Georgia. There's a reason why we're called Hotlanta.

I lucked out in Atlanta this year with decent temperatures throughout much of the day (and at SFOG the day before). Plus, even during the hottest parts it didn't seem humid at all.

DC in late July, on the other hand...now that was Hell with a capital H. (Well, I was at SFA, after all...)

At the end of the school year last year we had to fill out course request forms for next year and I filled mine out and got a probable list back a few weeks later with all the classes I'd expected and wanted (Engineering, Spanish (I didn't actually want to take it but I'll explain that latter), Cross Country, English Honors, and Biology) except my math class which I had a waiver to take online but I was signed up for Algebra 3/4 Trig. I talked to the counselor who had gotten me the waiver about having it fixed which it was. A few days ago I got another one with the same mistake on it and contacted the counselor who helped me and she told me that some some idiot in the bureaucracy decided to have an intern go over the course assignments and make corrections and the intern had changed it back. The class I wanted to take instead of the math class was drafting which I wasn't going to get anyway because it was only offered one period which was the same as the engineering so there wasn't any loss there but since I only got notice of this now all of the other interesting classes are gone with only classes that take any number of students like the band, orchestra, theater, and choir were still open. So now I have to get a petition to have the math class changed to chem at freshman orientation and I'm going to end up having a basis of four academic classes, one fun class (engineering) and Cross Country with my easiest class being Spanish because some idiot intern screwed up, I mean come on. Although I do plan on only ever taking normal bio and just studying the AP textbook while taking the class so I can just take the AP test once I finish and never take AP bio.

Another one of my rants is that my school only offers three languages as actual classes, French, Latin, and Spanish. They used to offer German but that got cut and they promised to have other languages like Arabic and Mandarin instead. I was went to a bilingual school through second grade and spoke Spanish fluently and I can still understand simple conversations so I didn't want to take that as my language. I don't want to take French since I have no real interest in going to France for a long period of time and don't know any people that live there. Latin I consider to be the stupidest language option because it's very similar to Italian but it isn't actually spoken by anyone. I have some friends who think that it will "make learning other languages easier" which is true but you might as well learn Spanish which can be used to understand both Portuguese (to a limited extent) and Italian to a large extent while also being genuinely useful when living in Southern California. I personally would have taken German since my mom has a lot of friends in Germany that we visit regularly and it is a place I might genuinely consider going to college and living. So really my rant is why did the damn bureaucrats decide to cut a useful language and keep a pointless and useless one. So I'm stuck taking multiple years of Spanish to relearn what I already know and could relearn in one year.

So I was texting...and right between one text and another...my phone physically BROKE. I have absolutely no explanation as to how this could even happen.

It is, however, still usable...at least as of right now.

I hate it when enthusiasts misspell Xcelerator like Xcellerator or Xlerator. I can understand the GP doing it, but can't we educated enthusiasts spell it correctly?

I mean, technically all three of them are misspellings if you want to get into it.

Let's say that a logical solution to a problem is a straight line from point A to point B.

A politician's line would look like the fiendish scribbles of a young toddler intent on mischievously ruining something. Long, drawn out, non sensible, and done without conceivable reason.

And that is the reason why I hate politics. No one knows how to draw a straight line.

Welp, about three months into having my license, I had my first accident today. And it was my fault.

I was approaching the usual U-turn light to get into my school parking lot, and glanced into my rear-view mirror. When I looked back, traffic was backed up in the turn lane WAAAAAY more than it usually is, and the car in the back of the pack was coming closer alarmingly fast. Going about 40 mph, I slammed on my brakes, slowed down most of the wa-- CHNK. Impact.

She was going into the same parking lot as I was, so I just followed her and parked next to her. I didn't know her, but she was really relaxed and not angry at all. Her rear bumper had a few big scratches and a small but very deep dent in the middle, my pickup truck suffered no damage other than a very bent license plate (EDIT: I looked a little closer, half of my front bumper is actually bent to hell. We just bent it back into place, haha). We agreed not to report the accident since it was so minor, and that I would pay for the damage if necessary.

So it all wasn't too bad in the end, but still, that feeling immediately after impact was one of worst I've ever experienced. Not fun at all.

^ I'd say you were lucky that it was such a minor accident.

I pulled my groin muscles today playing flag football when someone took my feet out from underneath me on slippery ground. Then later in the day I had the 20m pacer test in athletic conditioning and it hurts really bad just walking. Running was killer, one of the reasons I got the second lowest in the class, but I was way better than I was at this point last year so that's a plus.

This was the worst weekend I might have ever had. I've been tired all weekend, the cold weather's making me fell like crap, I've been having trouble breathing a lot which I almost never have, and since last evening I've been so stressed I've felt sick because I was supposed to set up a date with a girl but she hasn't been on Facebook all weekend so we could discuss it. I don't know if it's because she's been really busy or she's just ignoring me. I hope it isn't but my gut tells me it's the latter.

There's a bug going around the area. Many people are coming down with a cold, and I happened to be one of them. My nose is stuffy, I'm always thirsty, I'm popping cough drops like Tic Tacs, and I have to spray Lysol on everything I touch. It's really annoying, but it's not like it's the first time I've been through it.

The problem is that I'm supposed to be singing at my cousin's wedding this weekend, and I can barely talk without coughing as is. I hardly ever get sick, but when I do, it usually gets pretty bad. So I now have three days to fight this thing, and I'm taking every evasive action (chicken soup, orange juice, carrying tissues everywhere, etc). I just wish I didn't have to in the first place. I knew no good would come after that one kid coughed directly into my face last week...

I got a new alarm clock that allows you to plug in a ipod but my ipod has a case to big to allow it to sit properly in the plug. So now I have to find a new slim case for it. But of course its an older ipod touch so its impossible to find a case for it.

Will my mom ever learn that when you buy cheap, you get cheap? She ONLY buys the absolute cheapest thing she can find no matter what it is. On Sunday she bought new earbuds because the old ones broke and paid $3, my sister's broke 2 days later and mine sound like someone's holding a pillow over computer speakers. She still doesn't know that if something is really cheap, it's crap quality, and I'm afraid she'll have that same mentality when she buys me my drum set.

What happened to this generation? This generation is absolutely disgraceful and it makes me sick to my stomach. I hear swearing constantly from this generation and I am like, what in the world? Why can't everyone just be good and be clean. I never understood the concept of swearing. Why do it? There is no point to it. Also, I am a little annoyed how people take for granted what they have now to an extent that really annoys me. People are like, "Oh my phone sucks, I need an iPhone 5!" I am like, be lucky you even have a phone. I don't. Your parents didn't when they were kids. Also, kindergarteners have phones, and I am like are you kidding me? Just a few things that annoy me to an extreme extent.

Rap music. I can not stand it. It's just a creative way of saying the best things in life are sex, drugs, and money, and people question why there's more teenage drinking, pregnancies, and drug dealers.

The music people listen to probably contributes to their personality. See, music is one of the main influences that our generation has, and most people listen to rap. I don't understand how people can listen to it since in my mind rap = crap, but the garbage that comes out of their mouth had to enter somewhere.
